      I'm using the CD with TG, T2 and T3 on it. Darkloader doesn't like it. I can't get TG FMs to work

  3. I made one or two normal maps a couple of years ago but only have a vague memory and now I have a different PC. So download Gimp and get a normal map plug in. I can't identify this other than it has the name Shawn Kirst in the readme. He says to put the exe in the plug-ins folder and the dlls in the bin folder. But having relaunched Gimp I can't see 'normal' in the filter > map menu.
  4. In the attached screenshot , the highlighted patches, from a prefab, are making the floors and ceiling of the rooms above render invisible in-game. I would very much like to use those rooms, but currently cannot. They are rendered as though they were textured with caulk. This is only happening in two rooms, where I used those arches, along with their wood trim patches, from the prefab. In other rooms where I have used these prefab arches, but without the wood trim patches at the edges, all rooms above render solid. Has anyone had the same issue? Is there anything that can be done to fix the rendering of the upper floors? I really like the prefab that these came from and want to continue using them. I must add that the wood textured patches seen at the edges of the ceiling run the entire length of the room, bordering it all the way around. This is true in both rooms where I have rendering problems in upper floors.

  10. Today I finally found some time to start creating an LOD model for one of our high-poly models. A complete step-by-step guide with screenshots will be shortly here: http://wiki.thedarkmod.com/index.php?title=Creating_LOD_Models but I also post the pictures here so you can comment here better. For my test, I selected the cattails4 model: Place a patch behind the model, texture it with textures/sfx/white and select the patch, this will color it uniform brownish. Then make a screenshot and load into gimp: Cut out the model, the size does not matter yet: Select "Select by similiar colors" and click on the brown, then fill the selection with black: Now "Resize the canvas". That means you change the dimensions of the image, but don't scale it! Select as a size something that fits closely, and is either square, or in my case 2:1 or 1:2: Continued:
  11. [update] Spoke to Marcus @AMD UK on the phone and as it turns out a number of complaints have been made against "Spyre". My AMD forum account has been unbarred and my Ip address unblocked!!! Bought a new gfx card for xmas, been having issues with mainly the driver So I though a good place to look for support and polity vent etc - or so I thought My second post got flamed by some smart arse fanboy and then promptly locked, to which I reported the posted asking why it had been locked.. and then my account on there got deleted and my Ip blocked (untill the isp dhcp refreshed etc) so I cant login even with a different account name. I have emailed AMD directly about this as I did nothing wrong according the t&c's and I got no warning Pm or email from the forum mods. Now I've been over at the nVidia forums a long while back when I had the 8800GTX when I was equally frustrated when posting about the driver issue with thief etc, but at no point did a thread get locked or worse my account deleted. I don't have loyalty to AMD or nVidia but depending on the answer I get from AMD next week this card maybe going back and AMD will be added to the list of manufactures I will never buy anything from again.   13. Hello, I've ran into another problem, this time with making a curved wall. I've been reading http://wiki.thedarkmod.com/index.php?title=Patches but I find a conflict; Everything goes like it says there untill Create Bevel... where his bevel looks like this http://wiki.thedarkmod.com/index.php?title=Image:Bevel06.jpg (I presume the white lines are from the corner triangle, and the orange lines are from the bevel). However, my bevel, when created, becomes rectangular with a line in the middle! Whereas his looks more triangle-like, emulating the corner triangle.. Cheers
  14. So, what i am interested in is, how you're making , or have made your Fm-s. I feel i am progressing very slowly and i suspect it's because i am not thinking good enough as a mapper. Interested briefly in the process like..Do all brushwork only then place lights and AI, or going from room to room, getting started on the new when the one before is finished fully. Things like that.
  15. Okay, I'm done with searching. How do you record a TDM demo and convert it to an avi? I've tried the recorddemo/aviDemo route and my attempts at aviDemo abort quickly with no results. I'm missing some key piece of information. Thanks. -------------------------------------- Nevermind. I wasn't doing the recorddemo side of things correctly.
  16. I just saw that the blood-decals are still there after reloading the saved game. I want that in Doom3 too. I managed to have staying blood, bodies and Projectiles. But I don´t have a clue how to make this. Please, enlighten me!!

I need to hav some doors that are lockede and that can only be opende by lockpicking a lockbox next to the door! so fare so good I´v setup the door like a footlocker lit and the lockbox is setup like the footlocker body, it all works fine when useing a key but the lockbox fails completely when lockpicking it, it don´t unlock and there by don´t unlock/open the door! Her you can see the setup on the lockbox it selv! so the BIG question is; what am I doing worng??? any help!

  22. I was just wondering, has there been a list compiled of all the various editors that can make .map files for the Dark Mod? If not, can such a list be made? I believe Dark Radiant isn't the only editor for editing .map files.
