I've upgraded IPB to the latest stable version, and since this was a major upgrade (from 2.3.6) I also had to re-do the forum style. Most of the new stuff is in place, but I bet that the logo will be changed. One of the many new features in version 3 is rating of posts and also a "report spammer" ability which will make it easier to single out spam bots and ban then at sight. Hopefully this will stop some of the spam threads we've seen recently. Make sure to empty your browser cache if you're experiencing any problems. And please report any errors etc in this thread. Now that 1.03 is out, I'd like to replace many of the out-dated screenshots on our website with new ones decked out with the new eye-candy. I'm currently working on three different TDM projects at the same time, however (rigging the thief model, writing a vocal script and creating a couple new AI skins) so I don't really have time to do it myself. If anyone felt like helping (you can even pimp your own mission) that would be great. I'd need a catchy, high-res screenshot with all the video settings at full (bloom can be on or not as you wish). Extra points if there are AI visible. I'd also need a 120px × 100px thumbnail. I can handle slapping on the logo and making the sepia-toned thumbnail. Please don't take any pics that reveal sensitive info about a mission.

Just found this app and I gotta say its amazing, I got so i could view my tga/dds files, but then noticed it could far more than that - -XnView - (1.97.8/1.70) exists for Windows, MacOS X, Linux x86, Linux ppc, FreeBSD x86, OpenBSD x86, NetBSD x86, Solaris sparc, Solaris x86, Irix mips, HP-UX, AIX ! The coolest thing so far is that it works just like windows explorer, but even better its has tabbed windows and they are closable with the middle mouse button...!!

When you take a screenshot, where do they go? I've been serching for a while. Sorry for having so many questions

So... What was up with the forums all day yesterday..?

I thought I'd ask here: the front page for thedarkmod.com has a 'forum' link, and when we move the cursor on it, it's supposed to swap it for a different image (like a pressed button or something). But here it shows the 'tutorials' link image! I've been experiencing this in other sites as well. Images that are clearly in the wrong place, mirrored, segmented... I'm not getting anything from searching google! ;P Does anyone ever experienced something like this? May this be a virus? My Avast didn't catch anything.

[update] Spoke to Marcus @AMD UK on the phone and as it turns out a number of complaints have been made against "Spyre". My AMD forum account has been unbarred and my Ip address unblocked!!! Bought a new gfx card for xmas, been having issues with mainly the driver So I though a good place to look for support and polity vent etc - or so I thought My second post got flamed by some smart arse fanboy and then promptly locked, to which I reported the posted asking why it had been locked.. and then my account on there got deleted and my Ip blocked (untill the isp dhcp refreshed etc) so I cant login even with a different account name. I have emailed AMD directly about this as I did nothing wrong according the t&c's and I got no warning Pm or email from the forum mods. Now I've been over at the nVidia forums a long while back when I had the 8800GTX when I was equally frustrated when posting about the driver issue with thief etc, but at no point did a thread get locked or worse my account deleted. I don't have loyalty to AMD or nVidia but depending on the answer I get from AMD next week this card maybe going back and AMD will be added to the list of manufactures I will never buy anything from again. when i do a search, it give me some results, I click on a result and exspect to get taken to the post it specifies - but no..... I get taken to the first post of the bloody thread it is in..ggrrr

Am I right in thinking that you can't just insert an image into xdata text like you would in html or Word etc? So how would this be done? Create a custom gui for each page? In this example five rectangles one for the background parchment, rectangles for the text at the top, left, and bottom, and one for the image? But you couldn't flow text through the text rectangles?

Just returned from a 7 day holiday, opened up this forum, had at least 4 pages of "new content". Made it past page 2 (to about June 03), and then had to take care of a few things here. When I came back, the forum had logged me out (timeout?), and when you log out, it forgets all "new content". So you log in, and it says "there is nothing new for you". Great, now I never know what I missed between May 30th and June 03.... grrrrrrrrr With email, you would still have all unread messages *sigh* Is there a way to change this behaviour? It has annoyed me in the past, but not as much as this time.. Edit: It's even worse, there is "no new content", but when I go f.i. into the "off topic" sub-forum, it still shows me threads as unread that I definitely already did read an hour ago. So I can't even just look at all the "unread" threads. Oh boy...

On the purchase screen (when starting a mission), I'm trying to get an image to display when the user hovers over the name of an item to purchase. As an example, there's a file \guis\assets\purchase_menu\broadhead_image.tga. So I have a windowdef called hoverImage, and if I do this: set "hoverImage::background" "guis/assets/purchase_menu/broadhead_image.tga" The image displays, but without background transparancy, so there's a big white background. Interestingly, if I just say: set "hoverImage::background" "guis/assets/purchase_menu/broadhead"; it looks great. So, doom automagically knows to look for a "_image.tga" suffix, and support image transparency? Weird. So I went with that. I want this to be dynamic, so I need to do something like this: set "hoverImage::background" "gui::forSale0_image" where the "forSale0_image" variable is set in the shop.cpp code, depending on what's for sale. Unfortunately, when I do it this way, and try to use the filename without "_image.tga", doom reports an error: "Couldn't load image: guis/assets/purchase_menu/broadhead". If I include the "_image.tga" in the variable value, the image is found, but as before it has the white background. Can anyone cast any light on this?
