  1. Well, I was searching for some textures for my FM, And I couldn't find any, In honesty I couldn't find any textures , So I figured If you're going to post textures, you might as well link them here (Of course unless its included in the Dark mod, Then it's pointless) Hopefully this will simplify most of the problems with custom textures. Here's the format if you don't know what to use: Picture ExampleTextures - ExampleDescription URL to download here! (Doesn't need to be 18, Take your pick!)
  2. Purely out of interest I decided to run the resource monitor while loading an FM and found that the limiting factor is my CPU which hits about 85% to 90% for the duration (about 45 secs) I know that I have a low powered processor E6750 core 2 duo but I am surprised that it takes that long when other games are much quicker Is this normal and would a much faster processor speed it up a lot

  3. When setting S&R responses, the selection list is too long. It flows below my taskpanel. I cannot click anything hidden under the panel. The only way to select "trigger" response is to go down with arrow keys or page down. A minor annoyance, sure, but it hinders progress nonetheless. This is on DR 1.8.0 (oct 12 2013)

  7. I'm still looking over the materials for the engine. I was thinking of a way that may help mappers be able to create mini campaign via a single mission area. What would make this work is locking off certain areas of the map until you receive a new objective.. These could be akin to the cut scenes you see that make a transition between gameplay areas and shops to purchase more equipment, like in other games. In this manner you could make a very large, and long and very detailed mission. You could have thus multiple missions all inside one mission area. Is this possible?
  8. it has been years since I played or really payed attention to TDM, shame on me but real life is demanding, and I'd like to know a few things? did the Dev team ever make the official mission series they were once considering doing? I can understand how a project like this sucks up the time but here's hoping. of the missions we have which ones have the best story? What have I missed that was super fantastic? thanks for all you guys have done with this, it is amazing that TDM is still alive and healthy.
  9. I have an issue when starting a mission... The time to load a mission takes extremely long for me. For the Tears of Saint Lucia mission, it took about six minutes every time I loaded the mission or a saved state. I have a ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5165 graphics card and tried the suggestions in the FAQ. After these fixes the loading times for the two missions were: Winter Harvest: 1'58'' (after closing Dark Mod and starting the mission again: 1'18'') Tears of Saint Lucia: 2'11'' (after closing Dark Mod and starting the mission again: 2'20'') When loading my own attempt at Dark Radiant (two rooms, a door, two AIs, few small things) it takes 30-40 seconds, which is, I guess, still kinda long. Has anyone an idea what I could do to reduce the loading time even further?

      So with the use of "floor", you can potentially save a lot of time manually dragging things down so they sit on the ground? That sounds pretty useful

      I've been considering reinstalling TDS for a wile now... I've still got my original CDs. Have these guys fixed the bug where you get stuck floating? Last time I played TDS, that happened and I was unable to get out of it, so I ragequit.

      You can surpass that bug by drawing your bow, performing a shot, and draw your blackjack when the bow is tensioned, to abort the bow shot. I'm hoping it's fixed in the Gold patch too though. Alongside the thing where you move sideways, when peeking left or right.

      Edit in Blender and export in TDS compatible format

       

      Import into T3ED

       

      Edit

       

      Release TDS mission...

       

      (or just stick with TDM)

  12. I'm stuck on this map, and not sure if I should be fighting the ghosts, or if they should be chasing me (scaring the shit out of me!). I've read about a 'trigger_hurt' bug which is mentioned in a spoiler in Fieldmedic's poll thread for this map, but I'm not sure if this is part of what I'm experiencing: After taking the sword from the trophy room, one of the maid's ghosts comes for me. I waited around to see if I could hit her with the sword, after I noticed she would wait at the bottom of the stairs, but I'm not sure if it damages her or what. I know that in some cases, the lantern will scare maids away when they're on their own, but not when one of them, or both of them are chasing me. The two girls seem to be hanging around the art/tea rooms (which I've yet to enter, I know I need to get the oil from one of those rooms) and I can't get into, or near them, without the two of them chasing me (around the entire map, until I try to fight one of them but end up dying). Does this behaviour sound normal for the maid's? I've watched part of a youtube spoiler where after taking the sword, the player follows the maid who comes, but she doesn't do this for me. When she doesn't see me, she waits at the bottom of the stairs, and when she does, she chases me.....perhaps the differences are to do with difficulty levels....? I've yet to find the conservatory key, but I think I need to get that oil first.

      I hope the gameplay is unique to justify him reinventing the wheel instead of, e.g., just forking off of us. The art design looks good.

  13. Is it possible to add distance based blur to tdm picture (like fov) and other modern effects? I can think of dirty camera, motion blur .. And otherwise remove outdated bloom effect? As to fov it would be probably something like blurred image applied via mask on base image every frame..

      NAOG was built for TDM 1.08. It actually seems better in 2.0 with more responsive AI...
