  1. Personally I think this is the worst idea ever. The Reason forums has LOADS of info and knowledge, built up through years and years. I'm really sad to see it go away, and I can't understand why they've made this decision. https://www.propellerheads.se/forum/showthread.php?p=1579099#poststop

I've been considering reinstalling TDS for a wile now... I've still got my original CDs. Have these guys fixed the bug where you get stuck floating? Last time I played TDS, that happened and I was unable to get out of it, so I ragequit.

You can surpass that bug by drawing your bow, performing a shot, and draw your blackjack when the bow is tensioned, to abort the bow shot. I'm hoping it's fixed in the Gold patch too though. Alongside the thing where you move sideways, when peeking left or right.

      @Biker Hmm.

      Build TDM mission in DR.

      Export as portions as ASE

Edit in Blender and export in TDS compatible format

      Import into T3ED

      Edit

      Release TDS mission...

      (or just stick with TDM)

  2. The female characters don't have the cower animation, but the files on SVN are saved with a version of Maya that is higher than what I have. Is there someone with Maya 8 who wouldn't mind opening them and saving them as .ma files? I can then modify the version number manually so I can open them.

This looks cool, somehow oldschool in a nice way.

I hope the gameplay is unique to justify him reinventing the wheel instead of, e.g., just forking off of us. The art design looks good.

  3. Ok, I've got myself a copy of Maya 7.0, and I'll be slowly learning my way through it...apparently it has a steep learning curve. I'll ask all my stupid questions here. Stupid question #1...how do I load character models into Maya? It doesn't seem to recognize .lwos. A quick scan of the Maya forum at D3 world found lots of threads about exporting to various formats but virtually none about importing. Do I have to convert the .lwos to another format with another program first?

Part two is recorded. Now I only need to add the subs and rip it down. Should be on youtube tomorrow.

I didn't know that first trick setting up the base, so thanks for that.

  4. Hello everyone, I am a student and just started on a project in which we will use md5 models in a raytracer. Here's what I'm talking about: The ray tracer (in c++) has no problems importing an md5 models (eg. the ones from doom3). The problem is converting maya (2009 and 2010) models to md5 models. Since you probably already dealt with issues concerning this, I think someone would be able to help. I am using "MayaImportx86.dll" (2010 version) with "doom3.exe". First I would get the error about maya not in registry, which was fixed by setting the environment variables. Then I got an error about MayaImport dll not being able to load, which was fixed by a typo in the environment path variable. Trying to export models after fixing these errors leaves me with a complete new behaviour: doom3 waits ~1 sec and exits. No errors are printed in the console. Nothing got exported. Here is what I have: I have maya 2010 installed in: C:\Program Files\Autodesk\maya2010\ Environmental variables are set: Path C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Maya2010\bin; MAYA_LOCATION C:\Program Files\Autodesk\maya2010; Doom 3 and its .exe is in: C:\Doom3\ This directory also contains: MayaImportx86.dll (The one for Maya2010) The .def file is in: C:\Doom3\base\def Here is my .def file, named "character.def": export character { options -sourcedir models/mymodels/character -destdir models/md5/mymodels/character mesh character.mb -dest character.md5mesh anim idle.mb -dest idle.md5anim } The source directory is in: C:\Doom3\base\models\mymodels\character This folder contains: character.mb idle.mb The destination directory is in: C:\Doom3\base\models\md5\mymodels\character So now I run the game and press ctrl+alt+` to bring up the console. I enter the command: exportModels character.def (I also tried the command 'fs_game' first, as suggested somewhere on the internet.) The game sleeps for 1 seconds and then exits, no errors notified. I believe the problem lies in the models, if possible, can anyone else try to convert them and see what is wrong? Here is a link to a dummy model that gives the problem: http://www.fileshost...hp?id=0BAB5D641 This should be about it. Thanks for your time Kind regards, Lascha
  5. Love your signature over at the Eidos forums. Hahaha!

      Maijstral

I don't normally even use signatures, but I've used a few to voice my displeasure at what EM is doing to Thief. I'll probably stick with that one until I lose interest in visiting the EM forums.

  6. I'm trying to export a model and it's animations into md5 files with doom3, but it exits after a second i execute the line "exportModels proguard" proguard.def export proguard { options -sourcedir models/proguard -destdir models/proguard/md5 mesh proguard_idle.mb -dest proguard.md5mesh anim proguard_idle.mb -dest idle.md5anim anim proguard_idletocower1.mb -dest idletocower1.md5anim anim proguard_cower_1.mb -dest cower1.md5anim } Models and anims located: E:\Program Files\Doom 3\base\models\proguard I've got Maya 2009 (i downloaded the proper importer). I also found that doom3 had written a maya crash log, as seen in the attachment below, when i ran Process Monitor. thanks! mike
  7. What's going on with the Thi4f forums? They've been down for almost a week now.

Well that's not going to work. If they can't post about Thi4f on the Thi4f forums they can come and post about TDM on the TDM forums.

People thought it was the server migration under Square-Enix that we've been told about, but they came back online like nothing happened, and the dedicated thread about the coming migration had no new info.

      Can't see this?:

"for some reason" I imagine is you being sarcastic as we all know everybody and their brother/sister are online on Sunday either shopping or looking at porn combined with all the gaming packets.

I'm sure there are also people just "reading things for the articles" though...

    Forums fixed

Had a problem with the web server yesterday that led to a crashed table in the forum database. This has now been repaired and things seems to work again. I was on travel so it took a while before I was able to fix it. Merry Christmas!
  10. I can get on the main forum now but still get an error when trying to load posts. Anyone else?

  11. Yes, you are still viewing The Dark Mod Forums I've just finished the upgrade of our IPB Board Forums to the latest release. Packed with new features, rewritten code and all that. Have a look around. The skin is currently the default one, but will sooner or later be converted to a darker skin, to fit the Dark Mod universe. Also note that the forums have been moved from http://modetwo.net/darkmod to it's own sub-domain: http://forums.thedarkmod.com - all forum links will still work tho, thanks to Apache's rewrite-plugin. Please report any bugs, requests and comments in this thread. PS: The forums will run a bit slow the first hours as the cache is being rebuilt.
