  1. I've made a combined widescreen/fov patch for Thief 3. It's supposed to work in surround modes, but I've only tested that in windowed mode so far. I've found a few testers on TTLG, but no-one with a 3-monitor setup. Is there anybody 'round here who can try it out?
  2. Google mobile is on the forums online user lists (in addition to google)... never seen that before

He's a pretty cool guy. You ask him to find stuff and he'll usually turn up the goods. A little nosy though...

  3. Personally I think this is the worst idea ever. The Reason forums has LOADS of info and knowledge, built up through years and years. I'm really sad to see it go away, and I can't understand why they've made this decision. https://www.propellerheads.se/forum/showthread.php?p=1579099#poststop
  4. Sorry for the laughable amount of time I've been putting in. I've worked out that if I import the md5mesh with its bones, it screws up the rotations, but it gets the translations right. And when I say "screws up", I mean they are physically at the right orientations, but the actual values for those do not match what is actually in the md5 mesh. Eg. after importing, the leg is in the correct position, but it has a rotationX value of 80, whereas the leg that exists in the md5mesh has a rotationX of 0, even though they both are in the exact same position. Fortunatly, all the rotations need to be at zero, so I can freeze rotations (and not translation or scale) to set them all to zero. This is good, because if the translations were also messed up, I'd be fucked, because they aren't all at zero. I wouldn't be able to get them back to what they should be, without somehow working out what their zero position is supposed to be, putting them in that position, freezing translations, and then offsetting them back to what they should be. So basically what this means is, I'll be able to make a noblewoman rig to animate with in Maya, that is pretty much an exact copy of the mesh and bones that are in game. So it should be accurate, and work for old animations as well.
  5. Since the animations are being tweaked/redone i started experimenting myself with a rig in Maya using ascottk's joint setup. So the joint setup is still the same only the ctrl objects are different. I've removed the FBIK controls and created a control set in Maya. This with an easy to animate rig in mind. http://208.49.149.118/TheDarkMod/Animation...nim_rig_001.rar I've started this for a few reasons: - In Motion Builder i personally missed a few options in the current rig like a simple "lift Heel" option which is very handy when you are making walk/runcycles, same goes for lifting toes and other custom attributes you can create for the feet. I don't know how to do this in MB but it's easy to setup in Maya. - I've added some shoulder controls, because you want to control the shoulders when a character is kneeling or reaching for something. - The knees in MB gave me al kind of undesired rotations while in Maya i can simply control these with some pole vectors to keep them steady. - Created a character set, basicly the same idea as layers in Motion Builder. you can create poses, (layer)animation clips, and apply it to different characters with the same ctrl set. - I've added some hand ctrl's so you can easily animate the fingers a little - also removes the im/exporting step from MB to maya. I'm sure Mb can do the same things but being used to animating in Maya it gives me better control over the movements. This is just an extra rig i'm testing to see if it's easier to work with and maybe other animators who want to animate in maya. I've done some tests in-game and seems to work ok with the current model. There are some issues like the shoulder pads going thru the shoulders and the sword hasn't got a ctrl object yet.

I've been considering reinstalling TDS for a wile now... I've still got my original CDs. Have these guys fixed the bug where you get stuck floating? Last time I played TDS, that happened and I was unable to get out of it, so I ragequit.

You can surpass that bug by drawing your bow, performing a shot, and draw your blackjack when the bow is tensioned, to abort the bow shot. I'm hoping it's fixed in the Gold patch too though. Alongside the thing where you move sideways, when peeking left or right.

      @Biker Hmm.

      Export as portions as ASE

Edit in Blender and export in TDS compatible format

      Import into T3ED

      Edit

      Release TDS mission...

This looks cool, somehow oldschool in a nice way.

I hope the gameplay is unique to justify him reinventing the wheel instead of, e.g., just forking off of us. The art design looks good.

I didn't know that first trick setting up the base, so thanks for that.

  6. Love your signature over at the Eidos forums. Hahaha!

      Maijstral

I don't normally even use signatures, but I've used a few to voice my displeasure at what EM is doing to Thief. I'll probably stick with that one until I lose interest in visiting the EM forums.

Well that's not going to work. If they can't post about Thi4f on the Thi4f forums they can come and post about TDM on the TDM forums.

People thought it was the server migration under Square-Enix that we've been told about, but they came back online like nothing happened, and the dedicated thread about the coming migration had no new info.

      Can't see this?:

maybe it was a migration test, and it broke.

  8. Holy crap are we getting another download spike? The forums keep going intermittent on me.

    3. Lux

      Lux

"for some reason" I imagine is you being sarcastic as we all know everybody and their brother/sister are online on Sunday either shopping or looking at porn combined with all the gaming packets.

I'm sure there are also people just "reading things for the articles" though...

    Forums fixed

Had a problem with the web server yesterday that led to a crashed table in the forum database. This has now been repaired and things seems to work again. I was on travel so it took a while before I was able to fix it. Merry Christmas!
  10. I can get on the main forum now but still get an error when trying to load posts. Anyone else?

  11. Yes, you are still viewing The Dark Mod Forums I've just finished the upgrade of our IPB Board Forums to the latest release. Packed with new features, rewritten code and all that. Have a look around. The skin is currently the default one, but will sooner or later be converted to a darker skin, to fit the Dark Mod universe. Also note that the forums have been moved from http://modetwo.net/darkmod to it's own sub-domain: http://forums.thedarkmod.com - all forum links will still work tho, thanks to Apache's rewrite-plugin. Please report any bugs, requests and comments in this thread. PS: The forums will run a bit slow the first hours as the cache is being rebuilt.
