  1. There is the following line in the game settings file: <property match="light_radius" category="Light" type="vector3" /> I assume when light is created, it gets "light_radius" spawnarg with "X Y Z" value. I need to change that, so that when light is created, it gets spawnarg "radius" and "X" value only. Following the example above, I am thinking it should be: <property match="radius" category="Light" type=???? />, although I wonder what type should I give it. Would that work? What type do I give it if I only need one value vs vector type ? Thanks!

  3. I'm wondering if anyone ever checks new posts in the Fan Missions Forums? I've posted 4 questions asking for help for 4 different missions that I can't finish because I"m stuck, and I don't get any help. I posted a question this morning so I don't expect an answer right away for that one. Its frustrating because I would like to finish them. I've read through the posts for each mission and I'm not getting anything from them. If there's someone who could help me I'd really appreciate it. Thanks I guess I'm spoiled from the TTLG forums.

  5. Hi all, me again Now that I've learned how to take screenies on DM (thanks to Aluminumhaste) I wanted to post one that I took but I got an error saying that the image ext that I used was not allowed in these forums, It was .jpg so I changed it to .png and I got the same error again. They're on Photobucket.
  6. I just downloaded the mod via torrent, the source was from Pirate Bay. When I try to change any of the settings and restart the game for the settings to change it simply reverts back to the old saved settings. I decided to not worry about it and play the mod, so I chose a mission and the mod restarted back to the default mission. It seems as if nothing is being saved??? The mod was downloaded into the "Download" folder which is where I am running it from. What should I do?
  7. I've played around with the brightness and gamma settings but I'm not sure what the end result should look like. I don;t know if my settings are to dark or to light. Getting this right is important for the atmosphere of the game. Any pointers?

  8. Hey, finally TDM is for free (i got no Doom3) and i played it a bit now and can't wait to get my own mission startet... I created a few things for Half-Life so i tried it the same way - read tutorials and get things started. I mainly read these http://wiki.thedarkm...uide_Start_Here! http://forums.thedar...ngs-for-tdm-20/ - but I can't get DarkRadiant settings the right way. I got no textures and no entities. Here is where it is: E:\darkmod // it's TDM 2.00 C:\Program Files\DarkRadiant // the newest version - i got it today. Settings: Select a Game [Doom3] Engine Path [E:/] - ? Mod [darkmod] - ? Mod Base - ? I tried a lot of different things here but nothing worked... Can someone help?
  9. Does anyone actually play FMs on any difficulty settings except the highest one? I certainly never do. From what I can gather in the FM posts most people play on the highest difficulty settings too. There are exceptions for me. I don't like forced ghosting and if I am forced to ghost on the highest setting I will usually play on the next lowest setting. If I really like the FM I will replay it on the hardest (ghosting) setting thus getting replay value. That is the only exception. Without meaning to sound like a snob, I think that TDM is for hardcore stealth fans who want a challenge. It's not a commercial game where a casual gamer might want to try stealth out for the first time thus require an easy setting. It feels like keeping the three difficulty settings is more out of tradition instead of actually catering to a wide range of various player skills. Maybe I'm completely wrong in this?

  12. We are talking blurry DOF, but also chains getting pixellated. Up close things look fine, but at a distance of 4-5 meters, it is like a heavy DOF filter is applied to everything. All text is almost unreadable in-game, and only moderately better in the menu. It also refuses to save my Anti-Aliasing settings, reverting to OFF whenever I restart the game. I haven't tried ALL settings, but unless there is a specific sweet spot I need to hit, the changes are minimal, if present at all. I tried to search for some threads, but the only one I found with anything of substance needed me to mess around in the console, which I don't know how to activate. So hell, tell me how to do that while you are at it. I never had this problem before 2.0. On the plus side, it runs real smooth, which is a first for my low-end rig. Thanks. EDIT: Fixed. "Delete your darkmod.cfg file and then fire up the game and try and set the correct resolution for your monitor" as per Bikerdude.
  13. So I decided to replace _default material with caulk and change material folder from "materials" to "materials_v1". .game file has those fields and I assumed that DR uses those dynamically. However, changing those setting yields no results. When new brush is created, it still gets _default material assigned and all materials are read from base/materials/ regardless what folder name I use in the .game file settings. Is my assumption, that DR has all those things hard coded, correct? Thank you.

I spotted this when playing Penny Dreadful which is a dark mission and I couldn't see the ghouls without increasing the gamma level from the default to the point where I can just see the smallest number which was almost the maximum gamma setting and makes the other missions look very odd I took a picture of the settings This is the default This is with maximum gamma Is this as designed or is it my monitor which can't cope with the gamma range properly

      I've been considering reinstalling TDS for a wile now... I've still got my original CDs. Have these guys fixed the bug where you get stuck floating? Last time I played TDS, that happened and I was unable to get out of it, so I ragequit.

      You can surpass that bug by drawing your bow, performing a shot, and draw your blackjack when the bow is tensioned, to abort the bow shot. I'm hoping it's fixed in the Gold patch too though. Alongside the thing where you move sideways, when peeking left or right.

      Build TDM mission in DR.

       

      Export as portions as ASE

       

      Edit in Blender and export in TDS compatible format

       

      Import into T3ED

       

      Edit

       

      Release TDS mission...

       

      (or just stick with TDM)
