By the way, i like music of Lustmord very much - their Dark Ambient is very THIEF-like.

And i'm glad, that Dark Mod exists - after playing Deadly Shadows many times, i couldn't believe that it was the final game about Garret.

If you need an idea draw Garrett as a Keeper with mystical runes on his hands and mists flowing around him perhaps posing or drawing an arrow or something. Thief 4 the city is invaded. ohh ahh :mellow:

I feel like I should point out that Garrett does not exist in the Dark Mod setting, since the Dark Mod is not set in the Thief universe. :)

My games | Public Service Announcement: TDM is not set in the Thief universe. The city in which it takes place is not the City from Thief. The player character is not called Garrett. Any person who contradicts these facts will be subjected to disapproving stares.

Well, what he should do is have a dedicated website for them where they are all arranged by thumbnail, and then just have a link to that site. I'm pretty sure there are some free photo-hosting sites that will do that for you if you can't do it on where you have them now. Just use a search engine to find a good one.

Man, you gotta think transcendent. TDM is all about gameplay transcending story. I think as a next generation thing, it's kind of cool that it's going to have to learn to walk all on its own so it can stand on its own, so to speak. The gameplay will see it through.

I take it you're willing to personally bankroll the top-gun lawyers we'll need to stand up to Eidos's crack legal team, then. Don't worry, it shouldn't cost more than the entire GDP of a small African country. :P

 

The Dark Mod is not set in the Thief universe, period. If we did make a mod that was set in the Thief universe, then it would be shut down faster than you can say "please don't shut us down". So unless you want that to happen, please do not refer to The Dark Mod as being in the Thief universe. If Eidos decides that they want TDM to die, then make no mistake, they will kill it. Even though they have absolutely no legal grounds on which to shut us down, when it comes to copyright law, the guys with the money always win. That's just the way it is.

 

So please don't give them a reason.

 

Now let's get back to ooh-ing and aah-ing at Spider's pictures. :)

Just don't put it on imageshack, because that site is slow as hell. There are some free photogallery sites as well, which also creates a nice overview with thumbs, which is more appropriate for this.

 

Nice images. I didn't look at all of them, but some of them are great. I liked that "glowing" knight. It got some atmosphere that I really liked to look at. Also that forrest looks cool. :)

I can't believe anyone who has been around this form for longer than a week could be unaware of this fact. The Dark Mod has never been set in the Thief universe. We have our own setting. There are definitely some similarities (both are medieval-steampunk, both draw heavily from our own history, etc) but there are also lots of differences (no Keepers, no Mechanists, no crystal arrows, and most importantly, no Garrett).

 

There is a great deal of information about our setting on the wiki.

Yes, this is what I meant. Apologies for being confusing (technically photogallery sites are photohosting sites, as well, by necessity. But, in any event, it's the gallery option that you're looking for.)

THE DARK MOD is a total conversion for Doom 3, turning it into a dark and moody stealth game inspired by the Thief series by Looking Glass Studios.

Maybe you guys could underline the "inspired by" part to avoid any confusion, or add a caveat stating that the Dark Mod is completely seperate from the Thief mythos.

 

BTW thx for the update. The spider bots are looking brilliantly detailed :)

      Turns out my 15th anniversary mission idea has already been done once or twice before! I've been beaten to the punch once again, but I suppose that's to be expected when there's over 170 FMs out there, eh?       I wanna play Doom 3, but fhDoom has much better features than dhewm3, yet fhDoom is old, outdated and probably not supported. Damn!
      Makes me think that TDM engine for Doom 3 itself would actually be perfect.
