  1. It's truly a shame what happened to Notre Dame, but at least a lot of it is still intact. Like you, I also had the same thoughts of "mapping fuel" when I saw the pictures of the aftermath
  2. Looks like there are a couple builds for Ubuntu and Debian: https://www.darkradiant.net/
  3. I run windows 10 and haven't had any issues with TDM for a good long while
  4. Yeah!! Congrats on releasing this. It's come a long way, looking forward to playing the final version
  5. I know JackFarmer is looking for voice actors for his FM, consider reaching out to him: http://forums.thedarkmod.com/topic/19948-searching-for-voice-actors/
  6. Was there ever a consensus about what's better to use when sealing off modules? Caulk, shadowcaulk, or just a regular textured brush? I noticed several mappers use different textures when sealing modules, so I'm just curious what's best
  7. Hey, so I was replaying this mission and found two bugs Fantastic job though, looking forward to your next one!
  8. Yeah, I'm getting no issues either, and r_showportals 1 DOES work now
  9. Hey, if you need another tester, you can sign me up too!

If the game isn't your bag, I definitely recommend the books by Dmitry Glukhovsky. I've only played Last Light, but it was pretty good. Looking forward to Exodus soon
  11. I love the new paintings, and the new wood colors! Those are actually perfect for the environment I'm trying to build. While I always imagined Bridgeport to be dark and grimy, I feel that Braeden would be a bit more colorful and pleasing to look it. Keep us updated with screens of your work!
  12. Yes, absolutely! I've been making a few as well, but these colored plaster skins look awesome and are perfect for what I'm working on!
  13. A frequent problem I have is the player seems to overshoot my ladders easily and then fall to their death. This is me in just about every video game with a ladder. Needless to say, I don't go on many ladders in real life.

Yeah, I'd be happy to help. I'll reach out to him tomorrow if he doesn't read this and send a PM before that

Hey guys! I've already helped a few people with this over the past six months or so for their FMs, but now I figured I'd put it out there in the open. I'm a professional fiction editor by trade and I absolutely love this community, so I want to help. While I don't have any technical expertise or masterful mapping skills (although I'm getting there... slowly) what I can do well is tell you how to write better and argue why the Oxford comma is superior. So don't hesitate to reach out if you want someone to look over FM readables, mission briefings, wiki articles, etc., etc. Moral of the story: I can words good and I want to help you words good too!
  16. I definitely second this. I've been using f.lux for years now and it definitely helps reduce eyesores when on the computer at night.
  17. Woohoo! Congrats on the release:) looking forward to playing this
  18. Holy cow! Looks amazing Dragofer!
  19. Oh man, I wish I could help with this but I'm gonna be away for Christmas. I'm so looking forward to playing it though!
  20. Ha, the Witcher novels are fantastic. Definitely an enjoyable read. And Neil Gaiman has his hands in a lot of things, but as far as I remember he started out as a novelist. He did the Sandman graphic novels, he wrote a couple episodes for Doctor Who, and he does a fair bit of collaborations with other authors (as shown by Good Omens). But if you are looking to read more of Gaiman, pick up his book "Neverwhere". It's a wonderful urban fantasy novel (one of his first I believe), and I think that its setting will appeal to a lot of Dark Mod fans.
