I haven't had much time to play with this: http://developer.amd.com/tools-and-sdks/graphics-development/amdcompress/ We have pretty much stuck to an old Doom 3 specific build but I am curious about how the latest versions might work with TDM. The main question being whether the RXGB Normal compression quality has been improved.

[update] [update] The Darkmod Issue is still being worked on. While the issue has been reproduced and identified, the solution is pretty complex and is taking longer than initially estimated. I’ve not been given a firm date for the fix but it should be in Q1 2015. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- As some of you may be aware I have trying to get to the bottom of the OpenGL perf issue that AMD/ATI card owners have with our mod (based on IDtech4), as in the game becomes slow and laggy with fps drops. The aformentioned perf drops would happen where either the Draw Call count hits 1500 (Doom3 vanilla max) or there are too many particles or overlapping lights in a scene etc. see thread - - http://forums.thedar...n-atiamd-cards/ The more people that report this issue, the quicker we will be able to have a fix made available to us. Im in contact with AMD atm and once I have said driver update, I will post a copy of the driver for people to test and give feed back here. So what would be helpfull is for anyone that has a HD5000 series or higher card to: Load up the training mission> go the archery range> and then while standing in front of the table near the entrance look down the range. Then post in this thread with the same details as below please. [update] Spoke to Marcus @AMD UK on the phone and as it turns out a number of complaints have been made against "Spyre". My AMD forum account has been unbarred and my Ip address unblocked!!! Bought a new gfx card for xmas, been having issues with mainly the driver So I though a good place to look for support and polity vent etc - or so I thought My second post got flamed by some smart arse fanboy and then promptly locked, to which I reported the posted asking why it had been locked.. and then my account on there got deleted and my Ip blocked (untill the isp dhcp refreshed etc) so I cant login even with a different account name. I have emailed AMD directly about this as I did nothing wrong according the t&c's and I got no warning Pm or email from the forum mods. Now I've been over at the nVidia forums a long while back when I had the 8800GTX when I was equally frustrated when posting about the driver issue with thief etc, but at no point did a thread get locked or worse my account deleted. I don't have loyalty to AMD or nVidia but depending on the answer I get from AMD next week this card maybe going back and AMD will be added to the list of manufactures I will never buy anything from again. I got rid of catalyst drivers because there were some issues with some other games I was playing. Went back to using open source RadeonSI drivers and tested out the dark mod. Last time I tried playing the dark mod on the open source driver I had a black screen for menu. When I fixed that, the main menu was sluggish and I had to use the console to quit TDM. I couldn't even play TDM and performance was terrible for other games. Now the performance is amazing. If your on linux with an AMD card, there is no reason to use catalyst anymore. I've only tried Saint Lucia so far, I'll try other FMs and report my findings.

Hey, Every time I've try to use the Full Editor when PM'ing someone, and every single time I get an error. Whoever is in charge of the forum, is it possible that this could be fixed? Thanks Neon

[update - 16/09/14] Called today for an update and the support call has been passed to the team that looks after the driver development and game interaction. [update - 14/09/14] Called AMD UK support and got the issue raised with a 2nd line engineer, ref:104047 [update - 14/09/14] Just got a call from a senior tech guy at AMD, told how to download and install the darkmod and told him the best mission in terms od DC count to test with was "Penny Dreadfull: All the way up" He will get back to me in due course. ------------------------------------------------------------- And here is a copy of the email trail -
