I've been considering reinstalling TDS for a wile now... I've still got my original CDs. Have these guys fixed the bug where you get stuck floating? Last time I played TDS, that happened and I was unable to get out of it, so I ragequit.

You can surpass that bug by drawing your bow, performing a shot, and draw your blackjack when the bow is tensioned, to abort the bow shot. I'm hoping it's fixed in the Gold patch too though. Alongside the thing where you move sideways, when peeking left or right.

      @Biker Hmm.

      Build TDM mission in DR.

      Export as portions as ASE

Edit in Blender and export in TDS compatible format

      Import into T3ED

      Edit

      Release TDS mission...

      (or just stick with TDM)

This looks cool, somehow oldschool in a nice way.

I hope the gameplay is unique to justify him reinventing the wheel instead of, e.g., just forking off of us. The art design looks good.

  1. After waiting for more than a month now, finally my new monitor arrived. Pretty cool! http://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B000IXYXP2...4142001-4165318 The nice thing is, that I also have my old CRT, and in direct comparison, this beast is still as sharp as the LCD. I bought this monitor 1999 on recommendation of a friend, and it was quite a high price at this time, but considering this, it was easily the best buy I have done. It's a Nokia 445Xi Plus. my last CRT was done after 6 years and started to blur quite a lot (a Philips), but this one is still working perfect. Only it takes some time not until it heats up. When switched on it's a bit dark for a few minutes. Since these monitors don't fetch any price, and it's still in such a good condition, I set it up as a dual head display now, with the LCD as my main display. Quite cool! Now I have two 1600x1200 resolution desktop windows when I feel like it. I think when I work on the mod, this should come in hand, because I can keep the mod on the main display and the debugger on the other one. Have to test this though. Well, I can definitely recommend this LCD if somebody is looking for a new one.

Part two is recorded. Now I only need to add the subs and rip it down. Should be on youtube tomorrow.

I didn't know that first trick setting up the base, so thanks for that.

  2. I'm in the market for a new monitor. The last time I got any info about LCD vs CRT, it was 2005. Anyone have good recommendations?
  3. Love your signature over at the Eidos forums. Hahaha!

      Maijstral

I don't normally even use signatures, but I've used a few to voice my displeasure at what EM is doing to Thief. I'll probably stick with that one until I lose interest in visiting the EM forums.

  4. I figure i'd share this with people (since release is so close). It only works with 32 bit Nvidia drivers as far as I know (which is not far at all, perhaps theres another way to do this?) It can really help. First, see how many blacks your monitor is "clipping": http://www.drycreekphoto.com/Learn/Calibra...nitor_black.htm On my 30" 3007 rev. a5, i start to see a difference at 9! If your not happy with what your missing, you don't have to settle for it. You can adjust the incoming black levels so they appear as a level your monitor can show. Of course there are hardware tweaks for some monitors too which yours may support. Then, if your missing a ton of levels, as i am, here is how to eliminate the blacks from clipping: http://www.widescreengamingforum.com/forum...opic.php?t=7193

Well that's not going to work. If they can't post about Thi4f on the Thi4f forums they can come and post about TDM on the TDM forums.

People thought it was the server migration under Square-Enix that we've been told about, but they came back online like nothing happened, and the dedicated thread about the coming migration had no new info.

      Can't see this?:

maybe it was a migration test, and it broke.

  6. Holy crap are we getting another download spike? The forums keep going intermittent on me.

      Lux

"for some reason" I imagine is you being sarcastic as we all know everybody and their brother/sister are online on Sunday either shopping or looking at porn combined with all the gaming packets.

I'm sure there are also people just "reading things for the articles" though...

    Forums fixed

Had a problem with the web server yesterday that led to a crashed table in the forum database. This has now been repaired and things seems to work again. I was on travel so it took a while before I was able to fix it. Merry Christmas!
  8. I can get on the main forum now but still get an error when trying to load posts. Anyone else?

  9. Yes, you are still viewing The Dark Mod Forums I've just finished the upgrade of our IPB Board Forums to the latest release. Packed with new features, rewritten code and all that. Have a look around. The skin is currently the default one, but will sooner or later be converted to a darker skin, to fit the Dark Mod universe. Also note that the forums have been moved from http://modetwo.net/darkmod to it's own sub-domain: http://forums.thedarkmod.com - all forum links will still work tho, thanks to Apache's rewrite-plugin. Please report any bugs, requests and comments in this thread. PS: The forums will run a bit slow the first hours as the cache is being rebuilt.
  10. Just a heads up that the header images are now missing from the top of the forum. I suspect due to domain forwarding or something like that?
