  1. I finally got my sounds to work; now I'm trying readables, but can't find the readable editor. Is it a separate download? Or; is it in the darkmod or darkradiant pakage already? If so; how do you access it? If it is a separate download; where can it be found. Thanks, buck NEVERMIND---I FOUND IT. Thaks, buck....
  2. Hi evrybody! i've re-started tdm today and i'm ready to manage the hours and hours of gameplay i have forward.. i start with alberic but some readables found on the floor, once opened, they don't even open and i can't do anything, i can only move visual and move myself, no more interaction with anything (doors, weapons etc..) forcing me to re-load a save..

I've got a little drool thing going on now... Sperry is one of those authors.

Exactly..!! He is the one who inspired the Like's of Melan and Skacky!

  3. I know this has been discussed before, but I think I have a good example. In the training mission, in the Lighting and Gamma room the last page of the book is missing a line from the left hand sheet, I hope I've attached a screenshot here: http://i.imgur.com/2Ifj056.jpg (sorry, can't see how to make an inline image). Notice how squashed the book is. The missing line on the left should read "important than these pages." Here's my Darkmod.cfg (I can't attach it as a file, so it's inline) I'd be astonished if there's anything odd there, as it's a brand new install, all I've configured is resolution (1920x1080) and brightness and gamma.
  4. Google mobile is on the forums online user lists (in addition to google)... never seen that before

He's a pretty cool guy. You ask him to find stuff and he'll usually turn up the goods. A little nosy though...

  5. Personally I think this is the worst idea ever. The Reason forums has LOADS of info and knowledge, built up through years and years. I'm really sad to see it go away, and I can't understand why they've made this decision. https://www.propellerheads.se/forum/showthread.php?p=1579099#poststop
  6. I've noticed that sometimes the last line of a readable is missing (at least, I have to infer this from other information, because the text just stops short), and I remember having particular problems with the "Heart of Lone Salvation", because I seem to remember that some of the readables there are particularly important. Here's I think another example of the same problem, from the description of "A night to remember", this is from the in-game mission downloading screen before downloading the mission: Note that the last line of text reads And like always, she promises that this one I presume the text is truncated, it stops short at the end of the page, and I can't find any key or button presses to view the next page. In this case it looks like dodgy line breaks in the rest of the text have forced this. I'll keep my eyes open for other examples. My screen size is 1920x1200, 16:10 aspect ratio.
  7. This pertains to TDM 2.0 and also I have the Use Item key bound to the "C" key. I don't imagine that is pertinent to this issue but I'm just mentioning it. When ever you have a readable in-game that you can NOT pick up, you right click to read it. Then to close it you can either walk away from it which will drag it off your screen until it closes automatically or you can press the Item Use key which will close the book. If you press the Use Item key to Close the book instead of walking away from it, the Use Item key also activates what ever Item you have currently selected. Shouldn't it recognize that you have an open book and only or at least first close the book? The problem happens when you have a consumable item selected. Whenever you access a a page/a book in-game that will not go in to inventory and only opens to be read after just picking up a consumable, i.e. health potion/holywater/etc., when you hit the "use item key" to close that open book it also activates whatever item you have selected. It should close the open book first, THEN activate current item if pressed again. Obviously you can quick select lockpicks or whatever prior to reading any books that don't go in to your inventory but you don't always remember to do that. Having any item selected and closing a "non-pick-up-able" readable will use that item as well as closing the book. The game should recognize when a book is open and first close the book prior to using the item. I don't know if there is already an issue open in the bug tracker on this.

I've been considering reinstalling TDS for a wile now... I've still got my original CDs. Have these guys fixed the bug where you get stuck floating? Last time I played TDS, that happened and I was unable to get out of it, so I ragequit.

You can surpass that bug by drawing your bow, performing a shot, and draw your blackjack when the bow is tensioned, to abort the bow shot. I'm hoping it's fixed in the Gold patch too though. Alongside the thing where you move sideways, when peeking left or right.

      @Biker Hmm.

      Build TDM mission in DR.

      Export as portions as ASE

Edit in Blender and export in TDS compatible format

      Import into T3ED

      Edit

      Release TDS mission...

      (or just stick with TDM)

This looks cool, somehow oldschool in a nice way.

I hope the gameplay is unique to justify him reinventing the wheel instead of, e.g., just forking off of us. The art design looks good.

I don't normally even use signatures, but I've used a few to voice my displeasure at what EM is doing to Thief. I'll probably stick with that one until I lose interest in visiting the EM forums.

  9. I just got curious how TDM players deal with books and other readables. When you see one, what do you do? What do you expect? What would be fun? What would be boring? As a mapper, this is important information, since it tells us how much effort mappers should put in their readables. There is no point in writing Builder Scriptures if nobody ever reads them, right?
  10. "The Name of the Rose" is a perfect source for random readables or conversations + it's very inspiring. I recommend reading!

Well that's not going to work. If they can't post about Thi4f on the Thi4f forums they can come and post about TDM on the TDM forums.

People thought it was the server migration under Square-Enix that we've been told about, but they came back online like nothing happened, and the dedicated thread about the coming migration had no new info.

      Can't see this?:

maybe it was a migration test, and it broke.
