Got a strange virus that changes all my folders in my external HDD into Shortcuts which is very annoying because I don't know how to change them back to folders even after deleting the virus ...

Is it possible that the original folders were changed to hidden, and then the shortcuts were created which link to the hidden folders? Maybe try settings to have all hidden folders and system folders visible... if they appear along with the shortcuts, then that would explain where they went.

The virus changed the folders to shortcuts who link to the virus itself. I cleared the virus with my antivir program, scanned my whole computer and recovered my folders via command line. It came from my cousins laptop..
