  1. Kaldwin's Bridge in Dishonored is just amazing! The multiple paths through the buildings and the views from the rooftops. That level never gets boring.

      The Thieves Highway is an obvious influence. I've been trying to ghost Dishonored over the last few days. It's quite easy to do even without those magic abilities. Great game. A pity it's too short and too easy.

  2. Hello all, Im a long time Taffer and loving The Dark Mod. I have a question which I hope it possible. My main Boot HDD is an SDD and it's not got the best of available space on it, currently I have The Dark Mod installed on the C:\ Drive but I have a 1TB second drive with loads of space on it. Is it possible for Dark Mod to reference a remote folder with the missions in it which I might put on my other drive. ?????? Happy Taffing Xmas Every One Regards Paul

      I suppose making a campaign as an individual and building for Thief Gold go hand & hand. You need to be pretty obsessed to do either. XD

  5. I'm wondering if anyone ever checks new posts in the Fan Missions Forums? I've posted 4 questions asking for help for 4 different missions that I can't finish because I"m stuck, and I don't get any help. I posted a question this morning so I don't expect an answer right away for that one. Its frustrating because I would like to finish them. I've read through the posts for each mission and I'm not getting anything from them. If there's someone who could help me I'd really appreciate it. Thanks I guess I'm spoiled from the TTLG forums.

Currently the folder structure in DR is as follows - - \models\darkmod\furniture\beds - \models\darkmod\furniture\seating - \models\darkmod\furniture\shelves - \models\darkmod\furniture\tables I would like to create - - \models\darkmod\furniture\cabinates And put my new version(with moving drawers) of 'cabinate01.low' in there along with all the other cabinates we have, as we are only going to get more of this model type created. @Spring if this is ok, did you want to convert the model from .ASE to .LWO? b.

  8. Hi all, me again Now that I've learned how to take screenies on DM (thanks to Aluminumhaste) I wanted to post one that I took but I got an error saying that the image ext that I used was not allowed in these forums, It was .jpg so I changed it to .png and I got the same error again. They're on Photobucket.
  9. finally doing some map edits since 2.0, repackaging all wip projects to fms folder is the worst thing that has ever happened. never ever stashing custom stuff and wip maps in root darkmod subfolders ever again.

      I found a way to circumvent the issue. Set engine path to the old 1.08 folder with all the originals, then reset to the new engine path and game path, and WITHOUT RESTARTING DR, now you can map to the old assets with find/replace. If you have 15+ backups you plan to keep, have fun rinse/repeating, lol.

      You have to change the mod base to your mission folder (darkmod/fms/mymission for example)? You can find the setting under edit/preferences/game.

      or in case you meant in general, you just put them in fms/mymission/textures, etc etc, and the fs_game path in DR should have no issues loading them up

  10. The Dark Mod MUST be installed in a folder called "darkmod", otherwise saved games will not load.

Overnight, my Win7 Windows Explorer has become flooded with a message in every single folder: unspecified (n) ——————————————— ...where n appears to be the number of files and subfolders in the folder. Any idea what it means? Can't find anything sensible in google and Windows 'Help' is just a big barrel of laughs. The most useless help conceived by man. It just throws up huge lists of unrelated documents. The only thing I can recall setting recently in Explorer is the usual Tools - 'set all folders to be like this' but I've used that hundreds of times over the years because Windows keeps losing my settings. Any idea how I can get rid of the line? I started trialling Total Commander a few weeks ago but sort of dropped out of it. I might go back to that and try it some more. Just about sick of Explorer.
  14. ... and I have a couple ??s First. I have my (very crude) carriage bound to a horse. When the horse makes path changes at path corners, the carriage adjusts its angle abruptly. Is there any way to make it turn smoothly behind the horse... perhaps some elastic-behaving func that could be between the horse and the carriage, and bound to both, to buffer the sudden change in direction? Second. I have an AI sitting on the carriage and have worked it so he sits pretty well. But on occasion, when the carriage changes angles with the horse's path corners, it moves under the AI and sends him damage (I set AI not to receive damage already so he doesn't die). The problem is that the func_static carriage drastically moves to an extreme angle, away from the wheels & axle, then returns to its proper position and looks fine again... most of the time. Other times it ends up knocking the rider off or gets stuck in a funny position and leaves the horse either walking in place or walking backward. Excuse the low ambient light and the very crude box the AI is sitting on. I was just testing a concept and have not started actually building anything yet:

I'm Dl'ing DM now and it says to create a folder in the D3 directory, so I tried to copy C:\Games\Doom3\darkmod into my Doom3 folder however when I go to create a new folder it says I can't use backslash/ or semi colon etc in the "new folder" name. Can I just copy and paste it into the config folder with notepad? I'm obviously not very bright in this area so any help would be appreciated. BTW; On Vista 32 bit.

      I've been considering reinstalling TDS for a wile now... I've still got my original CDs. Have these guys fixed the bug where you get stuck floating? Last time I played TDS, that happened and I was unable to get out of it, so I ragequit.

      You can surpass that bug by drawing your bow, performing a shot, and draw your blackjack when the bow is tensioned, to abort the bow shot. I'm hoping it's fixed in the Gold patch too though. Alongside the thing where you move sideways, when peeking left or right.

      Export as portions as ASE

       

      Edit in Blender and export in TDS compatible format

       

      Import into T3ED

       

      Edit

       

      Release TDS mission...

       

      (or just stick with TDM)
