  1. I've been writing plenty of readables and setting up some objectives, conversations and scripting events lately. This really is mission making in its element, and quite fun.

I've found it difficult to find where TDM is listed as #1 on Greenlight. This page ( https://steamcommunity.com/greenlight/ ) has no ranked listing. This one ( https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=858048394 ) has no visible rank or stats page. Is it my script blocker?

  2. Hey, Every time I've try to use the Full Editor when PM'ing someone, and every single time I get an error. Whoever is in charge of the forum, is it possible that this could be fixed? Thanks Neon

  4. This is a DR problem, long ago solved, but having just moved files around during my recent upgrade, I'm running into it again. I have an existing readable with an existing text and an existing XData name. When DR opens the readable, it doesn't complain, but when I edit the text and save it, I get this message: "You have imported an XData definition that is contained in a pk4, which can't be accessed for saving." If I give it a new XData name, it lets me save, and I can look in the *.xd file and find both the old text and the new text, under the old XData name and the new XData name. Now, if I open the readable again, edit it, and save it, I get the same message, even though it's using the second XData name. I have to give it a third XData name to get it to save. This has been working fine for years, but something appears to have gotten lost during my upgrade. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

I suppose making a campaign as an individual and building for Thief Gold go hand & hand. You need to be pretty obsessed to do either. XD

I'm just very happy to see how much work still goes on with the original Thief games. Good mods = long life after release!

What? The mysterious saviour is back to make our Thief lives happier again after such a long absence? I can't believe it's true! Wow thanks so much!

  6. I'm wondering if anyone ever checks new posts in the Fan Missions Forums? I've posted 4 questions asking for help for 4 different missions that I can't finish because I"m stuck, and I don't get any help. I posted a question this morning so I don't expect an answer right away for that one. Its frustrating because I would like to finish them. I've read through the posts for each mission and I'm not getting anything from them. If there's someone who could help me I'd really appreciate it. Thanks I guess I'm spoiled from the TTLG forums.
  7. Is it just me or does the TDM Forums favicon look whack?

  8. Hi all, me again Now that I've learned how to take screenies on DM (thanks to Aluminumhaste) I wanted to post one that I took but I got an error saying that the image ext that I used was not allowed in these forums, It was .jpg so I changed it to .png and I got the same error again. They're on Photobucket.
  9. Hello! I am new to DR and I am trying to get some working readables in my map. Currently, I have my xdata and strings files (copied from St Lucia) placed in my darkmod/fms/project folder under strings and xdata. This works okay, but in order to see my edits to the strings I have to re-install my map. - Is there a way to place an xdata folder in the darkmod/maps folder where I keep my other working map files? Rather than having to re-install my FMS every time? - Where does the readable editor in DR place its xdata? Every time I open it is says failed to (Xdata Name) Sorry for such a newbie question, but I appreciate the help. I can't seems to find this info in the tutorials. Thanks!
  10. Then why were immobile readables created? As a mapper, and considering that we don't provide a note system in TDM, and that most players play in the dark and wouldn't want to have to jot things down, I've tried to follow these rules: 1 - If there's a clue in a readable, make the readable mobile, so the player can refer to it later. 2 - If there's no clue in a readable, make the readable immobile, so the player doesn't have to clutter up his inventory. I've never considered whether it was dangerous to read an immobile readable. If the threat of danger was generally considered detrimental to reading immobiles, then TDM should have been designed to freeze time while the player is reading.
