  1. I am looking for fan missions that use falling snow and the only one I can find is The Parcel. Is that right? Are there no other fan missions that use falling snow? Thomas Porter: Mandrasola has snow but no falling snow like The Parcel. I think the effect looks really cool and I'm kind of surprised that there are no other fms that use it. Are there any others?
  2. I'm on a PAYG internet and wondering if I have enough remaining data to download? Can I get a rough estimate?
  3. I played few missions not all of missions because almost all of them got save file but it caused my game crashes when i start new game ... Maybe it time for y'all to stop putting in save file? and few missions caused game to crash ... when it got fully loaded, it crashes ... Please make sure your missions isn't glitched! I jump out of bath tub, landed in middle of Rug and Bath (Bank) and got stuck and couldn't move, causing me to load up my save mission again ... Doesn't make sense? fix it then! Even Lake as well ... jumped out of lake and landed on bank and can't move on most areas! Be sure to have BETA TESTERS to test it out before posting to new upload List!

version 2.1 is now uploaded to mirrors ready to download.

  4. Happy New Year! This mission was intended for the 2015 Halloween Contest, but a dead computer kept it from being completed on time. (Thanks to Bikerdude for sorting that out.) After that, I took my time finishing it, so now it can be the first mission for 2016. This mission is a bit darker (light-wise) than your typical mission, so for an extra challenge, you can try leaving the lantern off. Download links: The in-game downloader. Mediafire Special Thanks to: Xarg, nbohr1more, AluminumHaste, Oldjim, Deadlove, and Bikerdude for some great beta testing. Sotha, for letting us recycle his house modules from Lich Queen's Demise. Requires: TDM 2.03+
  5. Mission Name: King of the Mountain Author: Spoonman Build time: 3 months. Version: 1.00 Released: 18/09/2017 Type: Prison escape. Size: Medium. Completion time: 45 minutes. Difficulty settings: No. Known issues: There might be beeping noises from broken speakers when playing with EAX on. Beta-testers: Cambridge Spy, Spooks and Bikerdude. Special thanks to: Bikerdude for helping me out in optimizing the mission, reworking the cell areas, improving lighting across the map, providing me with several particle effects to use in the map, and being very helpful in general in beta-testing the mission. 6. Announcing the release of the fifth William Steele mission! Summary Steele visits Commerce Bank, looking for incriminating evidence stored away by Captain Marston of the City Watch. The William Steele Missions Commerce Bank is the fifth of several Steele missions. Altogether they'll tell a story of corruption, greed, and revenge. At some point, I might package them as a campaign, in addition to the single missions. (We’ll see about that.) If you haven’t played WS1: In the North, WS2: Home Again, WS3: Cleighmoor or WS4: The Warrens, I suggest you complete those before playing WS5: Commerce Bank. Download The mission is available via the in-game downloader. You can also get it here. Place ws5_commerce.pk4 in your fms folder. TDM will recognize it as a new mission. Build Time Nearly 3 years. I18n Commerce Bank is currently not set up for translation. EFX This mission takes advantage of EFX, so make sure you turn that on. Thanks Thanks to the TDM team for creating a terrific platform for storytelling and stealth gaming. Thanks to my beta testers: Aluminum Haste, Boiler's_hiss, and nbohr1more. And thanks to YOU, for playing! Known Issues If you experience low frame rates, please consult the Performance Tweaks page on the Wiki. Important This mission requires TDM 2.07 or later. The William Steele story relies a lot on readables. Please try to read every readable you find. Most importantly, Enjoy! Screenshots WS6: Baleford Museum Baleford Museum will hopefully be released in late 2019.
  7. Hello, I just found out about the Dark Mod although being a fan of the original Thief-games since the day those originally came out. Since the title's question is not really mentioned anywhere, I doubt that has never been the aim of this project, but I had to ask. One would wonder would the old maps be even remotely useable by id Tech 4-engine? And once again, apparently not, so could those maps be converted to TDM-maps? Yes proprietary things and all, but naturally one would have to have the original resources available yes. You might want to consider adding a FAQ-section to website.
  8. In memory of Closemouthed Shadows I modified the original version (from 2008) to run with TDM 1.07. Keep in mind that this is a very simple, old and small mission. Compared to todays missions it's crap but it was the first fan mission ever and it was the only fan mission available in 2008. Big thanks to b1k3rdude who has helped me to bring Closemouthed Shadows to TDM 1.07 (and improved some text and visuals). 9. Downloaded the new 2.06 update on laptop. 2.05 worked decently. When starting any FM, the load screen goes for about 5 seconds into progress. When the bar goes a little after the start, the game reverts back to the briefing screen and all sound disappears. If pressing start mission again, it does the same thing, sound still gone. Doesn't matter which FM to try, even training mission. No error message or crashing. No freezing. Tried different settings including performance tweaks in the wiki. What could be wrong? 10. Hello folks! I am kinda new to The Dark Mod! While watching youtube videos about the Dark Mod, i came across missions that have become diferent to their now avaiable due to updates, which is expected and all due to the nature of fan missions. But i also came across missions, such as Goldwell's "A Noble's House (The Accountant Prologue)" which are radically diferent from the actual first The Accountant mission that i started to wonder if there are other such cases. Missions that have been removed from the in-game downloader (why?) and arent avaiable anymore. For Goldwell's mission, i found a link to it in Gamepressure, so its still avaiable to download, but are there other such cases? Thanks in advance for any help!
  11. Description: Fleece the mansion of a former colleague that betrayed you. This is a relatively small, straightforward thieving mission set in an upper-class neighborhood. Version: 1.0 File: The mission is now available via the in-game downloader. If you need to download it separately, the link is below: PK4: https://drive.google...dit?usp=sharing Beta Testers: Airship Ballet RJFerret Thanks: First, to my excellent beta testers, who were prompt with responses and thorough with their testing. Several small but important gameplay tweaks came about as a result of beta testing, and the mission is better off for them. Second, to Fidcal, who I've not had the pleasure of "meeting" on the forums. His incredible tutorial made this mission possible. Third, to everyone who helped me out in small ways on the forums. Grayman graciously fixed a couple problems for me via PM, and several of you answered my questions in the Newbie thread. Notes: This is my first FM for any Thief game, and incorporates many of the techniques learned in Fidcal's A-Z tutorial (as well as a couple others I picked up along the way or during beta testing). It was intended as equal parts playable, fun mission, and as a way for me to learn how to make a functional level using DR. I'm happy with the result, and I hope you are too! As a secondary note, from installing Dark Radiant to typing this sentence, it couldn't have been than two months. My hobby-level skills as a graphic designer and programmer undoubtedly helped some, but honestly most of it was just slogging through Fidcal's tutorial in my free time. Anyone can learn this quickly and create working, fun levels. Preview Shots: {note, some of these locations will look slightly different in the final version, as these were taken before beta testing} http://imgur.com/a/AuxWJ
  12. UPDATE 26/6 ver 1.02 Fixed Bernhard's book Fixed some missing text in readables (Can you believe it's more?! ) Fixed black wall in barn, second floor. Tweaked some tension meter scripting. UPDATE 22/6 ver 1.01 Added popup message that tells the player that the maze isn't opened yet. Couldn't find the reason for the book bug so I've put this particular book in the world instead of adding to the inventory via a script... Hello! It's time for me to release my entry to the Seasons Contest, 2011. This map was built roughly between 1/4 - 19/6, A special thanks to my friend Ziggun and Ash that have helped me work out the story and write the readables. Also a thanks to my friend Henrik Swenson that has produced some of the sound effects. And also a big thank you to all team members and people developing this brilliant mod! And also a big thank you to the various guys and gals that helpt testing this mission and found some crashing bugs and helped me through the tempest Dear Sir I send you this letter as a request for aid in a delicate matter. My name is Oscar Powell, and I assure you that the rumors of my death were greatly exaggerated. I am, in fact, merely in hiding after the unfortunate incident that took the life of my father. You come highly recommended, and I trust in your complete discretion in what I am about to tell you. The incident that claimed my father and nearly myself was no accident - it was a clumpy attempt at an assassination. A band of pagan brutes assaulted the summer home, seeking to claim my life and that of my beloved father. And given the recent death of my beloved brother Bernhard, I now know where to point the accusing finger. My sister Alma, thrice-cursed be her name, must have hired them to rid herself of us. I have no doubts to her ambition to claim the family holdings, nor do I know her soul to contain any compassion. But the law is blind, they say, and I am but one man in hiding. But with proof I could challenge her and bring her to justice. Which is where you come in, as I am told you are without peer in bringing light to the ugliest of truths. So I ask of you to go the Powell summer home, where my beloved father and brother met their end, and find out the truth. With this letter you will find a ticket to the Powell hedge maze, which will give you an excellent chance to enter the estate. Use any means necessary and leave no stone unturned in this and you shall be richly rewarded when I am restored to my rightful place as owner of the Powell holdings. Yours humbly, Oscar Powell Important information! Because this is quite different mission from the rest, there are a few things to be aware of when playing. 1. You are in essence a thief, but has chosen the approach of a private eye. This mission has lot of emphasis on story and most of the story is told through readables. As with most missions, the mission is enjoyable without reading all readables and most of them can sometimes be skipped. But in order to get the full experience from this mission, I recommend the player to read all the readables. 2. This is a daylight mission and this means that you aren't directly cosidered a villain unless you show socially unacceptable behaviour such as stealing, walking in flower beds or going where you don't belong. (Note that on expert difficulty the mission begins with you breaking inside the main house and thus start in a high tension area). You will have a tension meter that goes up when you do something socially unacceptable. If anyone sees you during this state, the tension will go up on red and you will forever be considered a villain and will be chased. On expert difficulty this will result in instant failure. One another aspect on the daylight theme is that this mission is set on a farmland and to simulate these lands I have chosen a quite open map layout. This is contrary to all recommendations for the IdTech 4 engine and as a result, performace may be lacking in some places. I have tried my best to keep a good balance between good looking exterior parts versus good performance. 3. This shouldn't have to be something to point out, but I've got to known that some players have some issues against "violence-control" in missions. My personal gameplay puts lots of emphasis on stealth and sneaking. Therefore I consider detection a failure and almost never kill anyone besides animals/undead. Violence is sparse in this mission and you're not allowed to kill anyone (that doesn't pose any immediate threat to you) on any of the difficulties. KO:s are perfectly allright although limited. Enjoy! http://www.mindplace...tails.php?id=45 Not updated yet... http://www.MegaShare.com/3359042 ver 1.01 http://www.MegaShare.com/3368609 ver 1.02 Remember to use spoiler tags where appropriate! (This may fail and therefore I do not recommend anyone to read any further unless they've played the mission!)
  13. notes: Prequel map for some planned missions. As in some readables may lead to other maps later on. Not set in Brideport, but in the city of Lunarium which is 6 weeks steam boat travel east of Bridgeport. Build time about 4 months. (14/12/2009) - (31/03/2010) Betatesters: Jugger, Mortem Desino, Bikerdude. Custom assets like the pub sign, in game maps graphics, cog icon, red pouch icon (if you find this), seven of snoozeberries playing card model and icon, and some textures done by me. Used a modified version of the mainmenu_briefing.gui written originally by greebo. been updated to use TDM 2.00 Known Issues Might run slow on low end machines, especially if you go on the roof of the castle, due to very long views. And if you go all the way to the back of the castle grounds, then look back at the castle causes a fps drop. There's a green flash in some areas, caused by using a horizontal visportal where a vertical one wouldn't work. There are not any brushes stopping from going to places where you shouldn't go, although getting down from those places may result in your death in game. If you get stuck with the clue papers then focus on the misspelt words. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ briefing notes: Lord Dufford's This mission is set in the fair city of Lunarium otherwise known as the city of the spires, as four huge spires feed magical light directly into the massive tower in the center of the city. The city lies five thousand leagues east of Bridgeport, and is home to many people who came here due to the magical healing properties in the air surround the spire's, although getting to close to a spire means you disappear in a puff of greasy smoke. You play as Reg Rouge, thief for hire, also known thoughout the city as the mysterious Red Rouge, due to leaving a calling card of the seven of snoozeberries, with a red splat on it at places you empty. You should find it in your inventory when you get in the map, Lord Chaz' bed would be a good place to leave it. linkage : can't hot link directly to files website doesn't like that. pk4 version pk4 version
  14. Not so long ago I found what could make a pretty good profile picture and decided to try it out on these new forums. But I couldn't find a button anywhere that would let me change it. I asked on Discord and it seems Spooks also couldn't find anything anywhere. So I logged into an old alternative account and, lo and behold, that account has a button. This is on the first screen I get when I: 1) click on my account name in the top-right of the browser -> 2) click on 'profile'. Compared to my actual account: Are you also missing this button on your account? It'd be very much appreciated if that functionality could be restored to any of the affected accounts.
  15. The Bakery Job is a tiny few room FM, where the player steals a recipe book. Made by Sotha. Briefing: The entire building process of this mission was published in a youtube video series. New mappers are warmly welcome here: http://forums.thedarkmod.com/topic/18680-lets-map-tdm-with-sotha-the-bakery-job/ ...and on youtube: BUILD TIME: 381 minutes. CREDITS Thanks goes to TDM team and the whole community. Special thanks to OGDA and gnartsch for betatesting! 16. Hi, guys! I just discovered the dark mod and found it fascinating but i'm running into a problem. The missions just don't appear as installed on the menu. The game recognizes the downloaded missions. I always choose to install, the game restarts but the "no missions installed" is always there. I always have to press the button again, but it will always go back to the menu just as i haven't installed it.
  17. I'm wondering if anyone ever checks new posts in the Fan Missions Forums? I've posted 4 questions asking for help for 4 different missions that I can't finish because I"m stuck, and I don't get any help. I posted a question this morning so I don't expect an answer right away for that one. Its frustrating because I would like to finish them. I've read through the posts for each mission and I'm not getting anything from them. If there's someone who could help me I'd really appreciate it. Thanks I guess I'm spoiled from the TTLG forums.
  18. Hi, im having some problems with the mdos of the missions after you downlaod them. i notice when downlaoding certain ones like accountant part 1, the arena an etc. it crashes the game. esepciallyy after getting a few them downlaoded an/or get them all selected an then it downlaods one by one. but, then it fails.
  19. Well, I realize I have lots of ideas of things that could go into missions, but also lack the tools and technical know-how to make my own. So, at demagogue's behest, I decided to make a megathread for ideas that come to me that are ABSOLUTELY FREE for people to use in their fan missions, only thing I'd like is of you said "basic idea by Kurshok". Edit: Changed the name so other people could add their ideas in too.
  20. Hi guys, through the "cheats" topic I got the idea, that it would be quite useful, if there were tags for missions (the post was about removing the killing restriction in some missions to suit the prefered play style). I don't know how easy or difficult this is, but with them, it would be quite convenient to pick missions with playstyles, environment, etc one does want to use. This could also be expanded to other mission properties. I remember a discussion about climbable drains, handles on doors, that cannot be picked and other things the map author chooses for himself. That way these things would be clearer and as I said before, it is easier to choose missions with playstyles that suit oneself. What do think?
  21. Not totally off topic, but where do I go now to get Thief 2 fan missions? ttlg.org is for sale and southquarter.com is not working. thiefmissions.com hasn't updated in awhile, so now where do I go in between TDM missions?
  22. This mission was supposed to be released for the christmas contest but i didn't like how it turn out when i finished it. Still i thought it would be a waste to drop this FM so i made a few changes and here it is. Thanks for Fidcal and Baddcog for taking the time to beta test this FM Link: http://www.mediafire.com/file/nog2eyjmzyn/trapped.pk4 Briefing: "I was hired to find a gang of thieves which have been stealing from some very important and wealthy merchants, the watch haven't been able to find them so the merchants have hired me to do the job. Searching for them wasn't easy, i managed to track them down to an abandoned sewer system but it looks like they were expecting me and knocked me out. Now i'm locked up in some sort of basement, no doubt the reason i'm still alive is that he wants who hired me and how much i know about their operation. I need to get out of here while i still can." Note: You start the map with no equipment, in addition to the loot objetive the difficult levels change the location of the sword and blackjack, so expect forced ghosting on expert (if you don't like ghosting, play easy)
  23. . PANDORA'S BOX! Pandora's Box is a small FM in which you have been smuggled on board a ship to steal an item called Pandora's Box, and replace it with a fake. But this is no ordinary ship... DOWNLOAD HERE. (7MB) Play time is roughly 25 minutes to an hour depending on your play style. Note that although the loot objectives are reasonable, finding all of it is quite a challenge so add to that time if you like to find it all!
  24. Hey guys, Ive been meaning to post this for a while now. I think we have wonderful work done in terms of mission and their storylines, even some solid background story supporting the game, but we seem to be lacking art, what we would call fan art! By that I mean those works that are inspired by the missions we see in this universe, but also (and most importantly, for me) those that aim to inspire authors, to flesh out the fantasy, picturing moments that help building the world as it could be imagined. It's me, your old pal RPGista - but for art stuff, I'm calling myself Arm, or ARM (for whatever reason). I would like to start with this piece, for which I drew a lot from the original Conan lore, and also the cover arts (the vintage marvel editions). This one is a bit rough but it was interesting to try to nail down several techniques at once, use of references mixed with on the fly anatomy, 3 shades technique, how to work with background (which was done separetly, as you can see) and try to make it work with the first plane. I'll post this in decent quality, let me know if for budget reasons, you would like me to link to some exterior host instead (its below 500K). Attention: there's nudity in it, both male and female, if you are offended by that sort of thing.
