Holy crap this problem is driving me crazy

 

downloaded whole another copy 

updated windows 

updated drivers

deleted netframeworks reinstalled them

 

nothing works !

Actually the ambient light on the screenshot seems to be working, regular light sources like the torch isn't. If you upgraded TDM installation, try downloading everything from scratch. You can also try to delete darkmod.cfg from the main folder and try to run the game, so it resets to default settings.

Following on from Freyk's post above, can you give us your full system specs please. This will enable the community to be better able to help you with your issue.

It's probably something with your system then. Did you try to install vcredist_x86 / x64 from TDM folder? Btw. where's your TDM folder located? Please don't tell me it's on the desktop or in MyDocuments... Try something simple, like D:/TDM, or D:/Games/TDM. Try to avoid spaces and special characters. If latest GPU drivers didn't help, try reference drivers on DVD included in your GPU box.

Apparently 2.06 is not compatible with OpenGL 3.1

You can try

r_useGLSL 0

or the 2.07 alfa

This problem was already detected before.

That's the bad change I did at the end of 2.06 beta.

 

If you want to have new (i.e. nicer) shaders, then:

1) rename tdm_base01.pk4 to tdm_base01.zip.

2) find file /glprogs/interaction.fs inside the zip file.

3) open it in text editor and change two lines (explained below).

4) rename modified tdm_base01.zip back to tdm_base01.pk4.

5) now enable r_useGLSL 1 and play.

Of course, it would be wise to backup the whole tdm_base01.pk4 before doing this.

 

In interaction.fs you need to find the lines 161 and 162:

vec2 alongDir = mat3x2(gl_ModelViewProjectionMatrix) * alongDirW;
vec2 orthoDir = mat3x2(gl_ModelViewProjectionMatrix) * orthoDirW;

And replace them with these two lines:

vec2 alongDir = (mat3(gl_ModelViewProjectionMatrix) * alongDirW).xy;
vec2 orthoDir = (mat3(gl_ModelViewProjectionMatrix) * orthoDirW).xy;
