Hey guys, So i have an issue that keeps happening, and after investigating all the logic possibilities, i have not clue what this is about. First, there is a room that all the inside walls appear void when looking from outside of it. When i get inside, the surfaces are rendered, but the place i come from becomes void (black). I removed ALL the visportals from that region. (From outside) (From inside- Lighting adjusted) Second, a wall used by 2 rooms also becomes invisible, but you can see the inside of the rooms from outside. When inside these rooms, everything is just fine. Then again, no visportals. Any clues? Thanks!

Played around and was able to turn TDM to black and white. The only thing that is still colored is the player and the hud. Should be easy to get them to b/w, too.

I thought about including in my mission a scene where you enter a room and have a sort of flash back in black and white. But I don't know how the community would like that. Either way I might ask for your help with that Obs when the time comes

hi! 1) a couple of days ago i've completed the mission flakebridge monastery but in the list it's not green ticked, is this a bug? 2) is there any way to make text in menu still? remove the fading effect i mean... setting a config file properly maybe... 3) what's the font used in the menu? and "the alchemist" title one? bye

I've seen two new 2.0 LPs that have this problem...the menu images, and in-game gui images (maps, inventory icons) are all very low res, but the menu text and models/map is fine. Any ideas about that? Here's one of them:

"for some reason" I imagine is you being sarcastic as we all know everybody and their brother/sister are online on Sunday either shopping or looking at porn combined with all the gaming packets.

Just be happy you have a sound system that works properly, unlike us Linux users. So, Windows boots and *then* you get the black screen? I was first wondering if secure boot got messed up. Some apps like LoJack change the MBR. I wonder what happens if a user installs LJ on a new W8 machine with secure boot enabled?

Black Screen of Death is where the screen is black, the cursor works, and nothing is displayed. Has something to do with Win 8 putting the machine into a state where graphics can't paint the whole screen. Got out of it by accident, and it's been fine since.

After I edited a map file in a .pk4 archive, my main menu has gone missing. When I start TDM, I only get a black screen, then when I click the usual background pops up, but all menus are missing. I hear interface click sounds, but nothing else. Anyone else had this happen before?

Had a problem with the web server yesterday that led to a crashed table in the forum database. This has now been repaired and things seems to work again. I was on travel so it took a while before I was able to fix it. Merry Christmas!

Hello, a few days ago I was told of this awesome mod by a friend. I've downloaded it and every single time I try and run the game it starts in a very low resolution (around 800x600 I'd say, or less if that's even possible) and there is heavy pixelation on EVERYTHING. I can't read anything, I can't change the options, I can't start a mission, I can't see any of the menu pictures clearly at all. I can't even fix it, I've tried editing the cfg file and stuff like that, but nothing works at all. How do I fix this? I REALLY want to get it a go. If no one else has seen this problem, I'll post a picture of it if I can, but I'm not on my home computer right now.

When I start TDM, I can hear a music box ticking and playing and, when I move my cursor around, I can hear it clicking over buttons as it scrolls over them, but I can't see the menu screen, although I can see my cursor-it all looks completely black. The console works, as it's the only way I can quit, but the menu screen itself doesn't show at all.

Yes, you are still viewing The Dark Mod Forums I've just finished the upgrade of our IPB Board Forums to the latest release. Packed with new features, rewritten code and all that. Have a look around. The skin is currently the default one, but will sooner or later be converted to a darker skin, to fit the Dark Mod universe. Also note that the forums have been moved from http://modetwo.net/darkmod to it's own sub-domain: http://forums.thedarkmod.com - all forum links will still work tho, thanks to Apache's rewrite-plugin. Please report any bugs, requests and comments in this thread. PS: The forums will run a bit slow the first hours as the cache is being rebuilt.

Just a heads up that the header images are now missing from the top of the forum. I suspect due to domain forwarding or something like that?
