Hi, I've tried to run TDM-2.0 downloaded via torrent (not from TDM website, it wasn't available there at that time) on my gentoo-x64 box. I've fixed a relative path problem by renaming the game's folder to "darkmod", but now it prints lots of errors like "WARNING:Couldn't load image: guis/assets/mainmenu/buttons_loadsave/loadmission" on startup. It finds all files in the search path, but can't load the images. The menu screen is completely black. Sound works fine, I can hear the feedback when I hover the mouse over a button. I guess not being able to see anything has to do with those image loading failures, right? Any idea how I can solve them? I've deleted the Darkmod.cfg and re-ran the updater, but that didn't solve the problem.

The system is 32 bit Fedora Linux 19 with Xfce, on a laptop that isn't exactly gaming, with intel graphics but the errors aren't related to poor gl implementation from intel. I've downloaded the game from this torrent: https://thepiratebay...torrent/9024163 that I've found on one of threads here. All seems well after download but when I start the game I must go to tty2 and manually ps and kill the process because it's just black screen and music and I can't/didn't find the way to quit it. It's as if all fonts and gui assets are missing. Updater in the torrent says it's up to date. I attach(because it's too long to paste comfortably) the file to which I redirected stdout when launching the game, in case it's actually my laptop or intel card that is causing this problem. darkmodout.txt

I am unable to get TDM to run. I installed TDM using The Dark Mod Updater v0.66 into the C:\darkmod directory. When executing the TheDarkMod.exe application, the screen goes black, my monitor indicates that there is a 'HDMI' cable connection and then briefly brings up the monitor menu buttons overlay for a few seconds. After which, the screen is completely black. At this point, neither Control-Alt-Delete nor Alt-Control-Tilde work, the computer is frozen, and the computer requires a hard power down and reboot. A second reinstall of TDM shows the same results and behavior. I have attached a .txt file of the TDM Update Log Window. My system configuration is: ASUS Desktop PC CM6850 Series Intel Core i7-2600 CPU, 3.4 GHz 8 GB RAM Windows 10 Home, 64 Bit NVIDIA GeForce GT 530 (Driver Date:5/17/2017) 6134 MB Total Available Graphics Memory Any help on getting TDM running would be greatly appreciated. I'm having a weird issue where I get a black screen whenever I click on objectives before jumping into my mission. I'm not sure what's causing this, and can't find anything on the wiki/forums on this glitch. Any help is appreciated.

Hey, Every time I've try to use the Full Editor when PM'ing someone, and every single time I get an error. Whoever is in charge of the forum, is it possible that this could be fixed? Thanks Neon

Bit of background first: when I first downloaded TDM v1, I suffered the same symptoms: after the first start or two, the main menu would be always completely black. The music would play, and you could click on the menu options if you moved the invisible mouse cursor to the right spot, but still obviously a game breaking bug. At that time, running the updater fixed the problem, and I figured it was probably a corrupted download. Now the problem is back. Just now I've installed a new FM, and the program rebooted itself to a completely blank black main menu screen. Everything behaves the same way, with one difference: running the updater does NOT fix it. In fact, the updater says my installation is up to date. Help would be appreciated. System specs: WinXP Dual Pentium CPU 4 GB RAM GeForce 9600 None of this has changed since I last played, so I doubt it's a hardware problem. EDIT: I've downloaded the torrent (non-updater based) version and overwrote my previous installation with it. It fixed the problem - at least for a short while. I now suspect the problem is integral to one specific FM, namely Glenham Tower. Will post more if I have anything. EDIT: Turns out the issue was most likely that Total Commander automatically puts brackets around certain (hidden?) directory names, and I thought they were meant to be an actual part of the name, so the installation of the FM went wrong. I think, anyway. Problem no longer around.
