  1. Experimenting with TDM on Steam Link on Android. see topic http://forums.thedarkmod.com/topic/19432-tdm-on-steam-link-for-android/

Did the TDM team removed D3's internal Joypad feature? (tdm works only with systemkey binders for joysicks)

Thanks to shadrach, i got my joypad working in TDM on steam link!

  2. In one of the fan missions I was playing. "Briarwood Manor" When I enter the lobby, the game suddenly crashed on me. I saved my game thank god and was able to complete the mission without any more problems, but just wanted to point that out in maybe updating the mission file of getting rid of that bug. It's not my computer since I meet the requirements. Other fan missions work just fine, I tested a few other ones and was able to complete those as well.
  3. Evening What Im after is a combindation of the following - have a similar interface to Microsoft Office Picture manager. where I can select multiple images and change the gamma and/or convert to another format. And will allow me to draw and place text on the image, as per Microsoft Paint. This is all to make beta testing that much easier, where I can take a screenshot then draw and annotate it afterwards. Having a single app that will do the job of the above two would say so much timer and effort. Fastone image viewer is the closest to what Im after but program has FAR too many annoying confirmation popups.
  4. Downloaded 2.07 update, neither the x64 launcher nor the normal x32 launcher work. The x64 launcher only gives me a black screen and then goes back to desktop. The usual x32 launcher gets me a black screen with the TDM mouse in the center and nothing more, if I click around the game goes into not responding mode and crashes as well. Tried deleting and redownloading the game but still doesn't work. Is the forum working correctly? Can't upload any files from my game directory, but I can upload the DxDiag file (it says "Error You aren't permitted to upload this kind of a file"). DxDiag_laptop.txt
  5. got a email about this. link https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1252280491/firmament?ref=section-homepage-projectcollection-staff-picks-popular
  6. Nearly an hour of Googling gives me nothing, so here I am. I know that "music" means SFX in TDM and so the music is tied to other sounds. Turning down the SFX means turning down other sounds I don't want to lose. So, is there a way in the cfg file to disable all the music - you know what I mean, come on - without turning down other game elements? Sound has been so vital for the Thief games since they came out, and a clean, realistic soundscape is so important. I don't hear ambient musical drones in my head in real life, why should I have to have them cover up important sounds in the game? I'm sorry if this went off topic. I don't want to start a discussion about whether the ambient musical sounds are good or not. I really only want to know - can I disable this in game? If no, then no. If yes, how do I do it?
  7. Did a great find today: Quake 4 mods for dummies. Now online readable. http://forums.thedarkmod.com/topic/5576-book-quake-4-mods-for-dummies/?p=412644

  8. A music video, that's a doom-style FPS browser game about waiting in line, where you have to punch yourself in the face: http://www.waitinginline3d.com/

He changed ita long while back, it was so he was using the same name as he uses on other forums.

  9. A coworker who bought and VR headset brought this to my attention since he knows I'm a Thief fan. The guy playing it in the video is a bit annoying, but it looks pretty good overall.
  10. The thread title pretty much says it all. Whenever I attempt to change the mission and click 'save', Radiant exits with no message. When I reload my map, I am in the same situation - the map still has the wrong current project selected, and I cannot change it. Has this happened to anyone before? Any advice on handling it? EDIT: This isn't just a problem with one particular map - attempting to change this with any map loaded causes this issue to occur.
  11. That moment you log into TDM forums and suddenly feel nostalgic...

Protip: if you never log off and stay for ever, there is no nostalgia when you visit.

Haha yeah, I feel like that from time to time. Good to see you around.

  12. I am a total sucker for high-tech sneaking like Splinter Cell, so I am farely interested in this upcoming game. Maybe some of you are too? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z_WGV9eL6r0
  13. Hey guys I figure we should make The Dark Mod more accessible for general audiences and make our game less unique so I figured some helpful pointers would help you guys out! Slow motion powers that use up a meter that only builds by stealing loot.Highly graphic (also probably slow motion) x-ray kills and knockouts. (See attached image)A fully semi-automatic crossbow or something with clip reloaded ammunition. (Chu-ko-nu comes to mind)Mark and execute on above crossbow and possibly also the bow and arrows.Ledge grab kills & kills from above. The ability to knock out guards by throwing bottles at their head.Third person camera for overpowered situational awareness levels.Snap-to-cover system.A radar complete with enemy vision cones.X-ray vision that highlights loot/intractable objects.A tacked on PVP mode that nobody plays and never gets properly developed but has like one or two good ideas in it.I really hope this thread helps you guys improve a good game into a great one!
  14. I really want this in Dark Mod now, even if I know it won't happen. https://consequenceofsound.net/2018/12/composer-of-the-year-john-carpenter/
  15. Don't worry, the name is wildly misleading. This interesting youtube channel features development stories of legendary games like this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qzD9ldLoc3c
  16. I'm currently in school full-time pursuing a degree in Computer Science going into my third year. Not a master programmer by any means, but I like to think that I'm fairly competent and a quick study. So far I've done most of my work/projects in C++, Java, FXML/XML, Python, R and Javascript/HTML/CSS, but have dabbled in C, C#, PHP, Kotlin, Go and Clojure. Right now I'm on Summer break and doing an internship, but I also have a good amount of free time to work on personal projects and if applicable or at all needed I'd be interesting in assisting the development of the platform. Since finding out about TDM a few weeks back (just prior to the release of 2.06) I have played through a dozen or so missions and it has quickly become one of my favorite games of all time. It takes everything I loved about the Thief series and improves on the mechanics and adds the variety and power of a passionate community to create one of the best games I've played in years. If there is anything I can do to help make this game even better I'd be more than willing to assist. I have also recently begun to develop my own level for the game (currently in the early stages of developing the story and learning how to effectively use DarkRadiant) which I hope to have ready for testing and release by the end of the Summer. I also just want to shout out to and thank everyone who has contributed to this project so far because you all have developed something absolutely exceptional.
  17. Just thought i'd start one of those fancy survey thingie. Mine would be Deus Ex, for sure. Never played anything like it anymore. Really pretty perfect in all regards. Followed by Fallout 3 Game of the Year Edition with all addons, System Shock 2, and the Thief's. Also, every GTA part since part 3 has been pretty great.
  18. I'll answer this one more specifically later. However, I'm a bigger fan of the earlier Tomb Raider games by Core Design. I love Nathan McCree's work in TR1-3. Overall, it's tough for me to choose my favorite, but I'd probably have to pick from 1 or 2. I think I might go w/ Tomb Raider II. I'll get into the details later. Personally, I can't stand the CrystalD games. These just aren't the same and I am so over reboot Lara/ Tomb Raider. The first reboot game was alright then I completely lost interest after Rise. I still haven't purchased or played Shadow of the Tomb Raider. The week it came out I was having too much fun replaying TR1-3. The new games just aren't the same.
  19. Masseffect 3 & Origin spyware Dont know if you guys are aware of this - http://youtu.be/Ri0vrJ-y2zM Like others I have absolutely no intention of using origin due to its spyware-like scanning practices of your personal computer. Cutting storyline required content from the main game so the total price ends up being £54 (UK) or $80 (US) or $100 (AUS) - EA/Bioware can f**k right off! Yet again we have a perfect example of situation that harms the legitimate paying player forcing them to torrent a copy of either the missing DLC of the whole game. And here is another example of this activity - techspot article
