  1. Hello, I've got this problem since the beginning but I never found a solution nor dared to open a thread until now : I use an AZERTY keyboard, and therefore change the movements bindings accordingly (q to a, w to z, and so forth). The problem is that TDM doesn't seem to remember those custom bindings, or rather every other time : One time it start with the bindings set to QWERTY and I have to change them manually again, one time it start with the correct ones, again and again. I tried to make a fresh install or edited the Darkmod.cfg file but nothing changed. Also, the problem concerns only some of the keys : TDM always remember that I changed the "move forward" control from w to z, but not the "move left" from a to q. In every cases, I can't bind anything (like weapons) to some of the number keys (typically 1/é) without having to manually rebind them at each new instances of the game. Confusing, but not a big deal, although it get tedious to fiddle with the controls every time I start the game. Any ideas about how to fix this? I run the current (2.03) Linux version of the game.
  2. So, unbelievably, I've never purchased a dedicated gaming keyboard or mouse, or furthermore any keyboard/mouse that costs above $10 each. The ones i have now i've been using since i dunno 2010, 2009? feet grips rubbed off, when I play any game, every 5 minutes i need to slide the keyboard back to the edge of the tray every 5 minutes or so, and its not backlit, so i end up fumbling a lot with the less-used keys while playing in the dark. and playing in the dark is what we do. cuz its dark mod. Also no extra function keys on the mouse, its m1, m2, m3+wheel. and the wheel button is completely jackshit worthless, I always end up scrolling forward or back once or twice trying to press it. I don't have a terrible lot of money, so i was thinking i dunno, maybe a $50 mouse right now, and then 2 weeks later maybe a $50 keyboard, and I was getting all prepped for the specs to research, and the pricepoints to expect, and I browsed through the entire Razer product line as a starting point, just to see what ridiculously overpriced stuff looks like. And then this happened: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16823129030 I mean, I'm used to giving my mouse a few technical taps when it doesn't move properly, and having a coefficient of friction problem where I have to put a bit much force just to get the thing going, and by then its far too late for small precision movements, I usually end up using the momentum I've built up to run in little circular movements to get pinpoint accuracy. So, basically, even really mediocre starter gear is going to be a huge improvement for me. $30 combo with back lighting, and adjustable DPI mouse with extra function keys. I can't even... how is this beatable? Is there really a point to shopping any more?

  4. I got a new wireless keyboard/mouse combo for ten bucks! Talk about a great deal! Within 10 minutes of hooking it up, I wondered if it is encrypted. It uses 128-bit AES.

I saw that some other wireless keyboards use 8-bit encryption. YES, 8-BIT! Even a 486 would be able to crack that.

Blooth is the way to go, if you can find one that ticks all the boxes and doesen't cost an arm and a leg.

Indeed. If anybody at Logitech is reading this, we love you guys. You make really affordable products that just keep going. You do not remove features from products we already bought, or do any other sleezy things. Sincerely, a happy user.

I've found it difficult to find where TDM is listed as #1 on Greenlight. This page ( https://steamcommunity.com/greenlight/ ) has no ranked listing. This one ( https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=858048394 ) has no visible rank or stats page. Is it my script blocker?

  5. Hey, Every time I've try to use the Full Editor when PM'ing someone, and every single time I get an error. Whoever is in charge of the forum, is it possible that this could be fixed? Thanks Neon
  6. Hi Two problems here in the new version: 1. If I want to run (shift and up-arrow), i have to press the arrow-key first; otherwise the running-mode don't work. The order the keys are pressed should be not important: This disturbs while i have to sneak, follow or flee. 2. If i run and want to move to a side (strafe) during running (press left or right-arrow key additional) then i am slowing down instead continue running. (tdm switches back to walk-mode !) Thats new in this version and it seems to be a bug.

I suppose making a campaign as an individual and building for Thief Gold go hand & hand. You need to be pretty obsessed to do either. XD

I'm just very happy to see how much work still goes on with the original Thief games. Good mods = long life after release!

  9. Evening My trust Dell keyboard is now showing its age (5+ yrs) and its time to replace it. I've selected a keyboards from several the shops near where I live and they are all utter crap, either they feel horrible to use or the keys just plain don't work reliably. What I know about the dell is it has normal longish travel keys, unlike all the ones that plague the above shops. I cant stand keyboard that try to be like laptop keyboards, with short travel, keys that are too close together and no solid sensation when you press a key. ta.
