I've got a little drool thing going on now... Sperry is one of those authors.

Exactly..!! He is the one who inspired the Like's of Melan and Skacky!

  1. There is crackling from the front left speaker which isn't there when EAX is disabled Why this should happen I have no idea First noticed with Down by the Riverside but now there with no FM active - just the opening screen Also checked with Coercion and is also there but is masked by the ambient noise Are there any diagnostics I can try Edit - checked again in Down by the Riverside and it is there in the boat at the start but isn't there in the next section after drinking the potion but as soon as you enter the house (where the lady is sitting) it returns
  2. Google mobile is on the forums online user lists (in addition to google)... never seen that before

He's a pretty cool guy. You ask him to find stuff and he'll usually turn up the goods. A little nosy though...

  3. Feel free to delete this thread if it's already been posted but this analysis speaks volumes to me.
  4. Personally I think this is the worst idea ever. The Reason forums has LOADS of info and knowledge, built up through years and years. I'm really sad to see it go away, and I can't understand why they've made this decision. https://www.propellerheads.se/forum/showthread.php?p=1579099#poststop
  5. I recently purchased a used gaming laptop, model Terra 1590, reportedly something of a MSI Ghost derivative. Has a dedicated GTX970M video card, the monitor has full HD resolution. OS is Win10 Pro anniversary edition with the latest Nvidia drivers. Trouble is, I can't get it to use the native resolution. I can run it at 640x480, everything beyond that results in a distorted display, where I can only see the top left part of the "screen". Several searches came up blank, any suggestions?
  6. I just downloaded The Dark Mod (10/10 would dark again) and I'm running into two persistent bugs. One is annoying, the other is game breaking. 1. This bug is signaled by buggy character models, and more or less prevents me from quick saving or finishing a mission. This has been here since the beginning. 2. This one is far more annoying. After trying to download a mission (The Rift) the game has been freezing on me, and I almost always have to restart my computer. I tried uninstalling it, but nope. It seems to happen randomly. Help? P.S. I admit, I'm mildly afraid I may have flat-out installed the thing wrong. But both the TM and St. Lucia worked perfectly fine, except for the first glitch. EDIT : The forum glitched while posting this, and I seem to have three copies of this. ~_~ Apologies.
  7. Regularly lately, I've been having issues trying to connect to the forum in the day time here in Australia. The browser is just timing out just on this site alone. No other site has issues, just TDM Forum. Is the forum existing on someones private computer and is offline? What's the reason why it's offline?
  8. Its funny how there's usually a simple solution to a mechanical problem. I got a used case where one of the holes for screws on the expansion slots is ruined. Standard screws will not go in, and bigger ones won't either. So I just used one of the million MB standoffs on the backside to give it something to screw into. Problem solved! It doesn't even block any ports on the video card.

    1. kano

      kano

I've got craploads* of screws and MB standoffs in bags. Its funny because this solution didn't come to me yesterday, but it smacked me right in the face as soon as I woke up this morning. I was actually looking at new cases online last night, but I would really rather stay with this one because its freaking huge and super quiet.

    2. grayman

      grayman

I have drawers full of all different bolts, screws, washers, etc. that I've accumulated over the years. It's funny how something you might have just tossed because it was 'extra' at the time comes in handy years later.

  9. Selected William Steel 1, 2 and 3 for download - clean install The first one started at 10% and only when the download got up to that did it increment The second one did the same but when it reached 65% it stalled then restarted and finished as usual The third one stayed on 0% for ages then finished very rapidly
  10. After installing to the latest version I get this when I try to start the program: Any ideas on how to fix this? I've been considering reinstalling TDS for a wile now... I've still got my original CDs. Have these guys fixed the bug where you get stuck floating? Last time I played TDS, that happened and I was unable to get out of it, so I ragequit.

    3. chakkman

      chakkman

You can surpass that bug by drawing your bow, performing a shot, and draw your blackjack when the bow is tensioned, to abort the bow shot. I'm hoping it's fixed in the Gold patch too though. Alongside the thing where you move sideways, when peeking left or right.

      @Biker Hmm.

      Build TDM mission in DR.

      Export as portions as ASE

Edit in Blender and export in TDS compatible format

      Import into T3ED

      Edit

      Release TDS mission...

      (or just stick with TDM)

I hope the gameplay is unique to justify him reinventing the wheel instead of, e.g., just forking off of us. The art design looks good.

  11. I didn't know one could fix the problem with "leaking" arches when you thicken a curved patch...Then I read about "non fixed" subdivisions in the patch inspector...That saves a lot of headache

    1. AluminumHaste

      AluminumHaste

really you've never used manual subdivisions? Makes it so easy to just set your patch subdivisions to 6x6 and be done

No, I just cursed silently and tried to adjust my arch to get a non leaking one

  12. This is a DR problem, long ago solved, but having just moved files around during my recent upgrade, I'm running into it again. I have an existing readable with an existing text and an existing XData name. When DR opens the readable, it doesn't complain, but when I edit the text and save it, I get this message: "You have imported an XData definition that is contained in a pk4, which can't be accessed for saving." If I give it a new XData name, it lets me save, and I can look in the *.xd file and find both the old text and the new text, under the old XData name and the new XData name. Now, if I open the readable again, edit it, and save it, I get the same message, even though it's using the second XData name. I have to give it a third XData name to get it to save. This has been working fine for years, but something appears to have gotten lost during my upgrade. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!
