You're welcome. I have a small Parov Stelar Playlist setup in my youtube channel.

. I made the playlist when I hadn't bought his discography yet... :)

Fuck man, this has changed my life

Uhh...

This was not the unconventional music I was expecting

But yeah, we gotta get this crap off of here.

I like the video. Something along the lines (as someone wrote: not to be watched on acid). I usually don't listen to trance but here music and images create a really hypnotic whole. Video consists fragments of the Soviet movie titled The Color of Pomegranates from 1968. I have to see it some day. This is actually a reconstruction of the clip made by a fan, as there were no good quality copies.

I found that song a while ago on a Big O AMV.

While I'm posting AMVs, here's some more fan made videos I like:

Le Portrait de Petit Cossette set to The Birthday Massacre's Blue

It amazes me how people can create something like this in less than 190 KB. The track has plenty of detail in the background. There are some vocals and near the end of the song, there is this cool sound. I couldn't figure out what it was at first, but after listening to the song a few times, I realized that it was just the same vocal slowed WAY down to create an entirely different effect.

Also, for those who aren't familiar with these files, there are lots of restrictions on what you can do. You are only allowed to play 4 channels (sounds) at any time. Two can be played on the left, two on the right. If you want to play a sound through both speakers at the same time, it costs you *two* of the above mentioned sound channels. IIRC there's also a limitation of 13 samples (sound effects) per song.

I really like Gordian Knot:

If you search patterns, symmetry and deep musical ideas mixed with math and sequences, Sean Malone it's for you, guys. I suggest all his discography.

It's not a normal progressive trip, it's more; it's a... musical research.

Some of you may know this band, if not, post-rock fans will most probably like it.

Year of No Light is a french drone doom/sludge metal band that has a very heavy and atmospheric sound that I find perfect for working. They played the soundtrack to the classic horror film Vampyr live at a festival and are going to release it at a later date, though we've been waiting for a while, heh. They usually play long tracks (10+ minutes) devoid of any vocals. Their first album, Nord, is completely different from their later works but it's still worth checking out. I saw them live two years ago and it was by far the best gig I ever attended; they had two drummers, 3 guitars and 1 bass guitar/keyboard if I remember correctly. It was insane. The last song they played in particular had this very 'brain meltdown' moment.

Their best album is Ausserwelt that I own on vinyl. They also did a split record with Rosetta and East of the Wall, two other cool metal bands that are worth checking out. That split in particular is very cool, but the tracks there are more in the vein of Nord than Ausserwelt (more sludge metal than drone doom and with vocals this time). They also recently released a collaborative record with another post-rock band called Thisquietarmy.

Ausserwelt isn't something I would call german, at least I don't know what is meant by that. :P

I posted about it before, but I think the default tdm logo video looks outdated. For a (i.m.o.) better looking version, you can download the pk4 attached to this post and plonk it in your tdm root folder. Every mission that starts with the tdm logo then starts with the better looking one. Try for example mission COS1 Pearls and Swine.

I finished DOOM - The Dark Ages the other day. It is a decent shooter, but not as great as its predecessors, especially because of the soundtrack.
