Ah, pity I wasn't reading the forums back in February.

I'm fond of that game, along with Bugbear's other early title, Rally Trophy.

I was never too good at FlatOut, but it was always a hoot to play. :D

Epic doesn't quit trying to get some market share.

I wonder what happens with all my (free) games when Epic decide to call it a day.

Losing everything (not downloaded to your computer) would not be unlikely, best case scenario the licenses get transferred over to Steam as part of some big deal. Whatever it is, you'd hear about it, and piracy is always on the menu if they screw it up.

Will it happen? Maybe. Not before 2027 I think, which is when it expected to become profitable.

Yeah, I don't expect it to happen in the next few years, but, they went all in, and, that's a very dangerous approach.

It won't be an issue for me, as I have most of the stuff I own on Epic on Steam. I just wonder what will happen, as they had such generous offers.

And, nope, piracy isn't an option for me in any case. I consider it plain wrong, morally and ethically. Losing my games from an online service doesn't change anything about it, especially as neither the publishers nor the developers are at fault.

Epic is giving away "good" games, probably a summer event, each one is a mystery before reveal. Starting with Dragon Age: Inquisition - Game of the Year Edition.

Steam has this until May 27:

"I really perceive that vanity about which most men merely prate — the vanity of the human or temporal life. I live continually in a reverie of the future. I have no faith in human perfectibility. I think that human exertion will have no appreciable effect upon humanity. Man is now only more active — not more happy — nor more wise, than he was 6000 years ago. The result will never vary — and to suppose that it will, is to suppose that the foregone man has lived in vain — that the foregone time is but the rudiment of the future — that the myriads who have perished have not been upon equal footing with ourselves — nor are we with our posterity. I cannot agree to lose sight of man the individual, in man the mass."

- 2 July 1844 letter to James Russell Lowell from Edgar Allan Poe.

So many free games!! 🤩 ,,, So little disk space 🫠

Yeah, I should grab a 2 TB SATA 2.5" SSD for my OptiPlex but I think I missed the price dip (when they were like $50-60). Should have cheaped out and grabbed a Team Group.

Prices are so frustrating right now. I was hoping for a miracle with Memorial Day Sales yet nothing.
