I'm a big fan of the sci-fi genre and today the 4th season of The Expanse has been released. I've followed the series from the start on the Syfy channel and was suprised and sad when it got cancelled after three seasons. Luckily Amazon picked it up after a fan petition and renewed it for a 4th and 5th season. I'm planning to subscribe to Prime during the holidays to continue watching it, but I was wondering if any of you have already started watching the 4th season and can tell me if it's just as good or even better as the previous seasons (without spoiling anything obviously).

I'm also pretty excited that they started filming season 5 already. We definitely won't have to wait (relatively) long for the next season. Now I'm tempted to rewatch the whole series again. It's been a while, Beltalowda!

Wait, there are books? Thank you guys, now I have a Christmas present for my girlfriend ? I have not watched the series myself (yet), but she really enjoyed it, so if the books are good, this would be perfect for her

haha, yep. The first book is called Leviathan Wakes by James SA Corey (which is actually two authors, Daniel Abraham and Ty Franck). Fun fact, Daniel Abraham actually worked together with George RR Martin quite a bit

Thanks! Got her the first three books. She currently prefers to read on her Kindle, but as a Christmas present, I prefer something physical. Well, she will have to live with it ?

Thanks for the tip, I definitely have to pick this series back up at some point! Best Sci-Fi series I've ever seen I think.

My Fan Missions:

   Series:                                                                           Standalone:

Chronicles of Skulduggery 0: To Catch a Thief                     The Night of Reluctant Benefaction

Chronicles of Skulduggery 1: Pearls and Swine                    Langhorne Lodge

Chronicles of Skulduggery 2: A Precarious Position

Chronicles of Skulduggery 3: Sacricide

I love the Expanse since the beginning. Great serious gritty realism-ish sci-fi series with a great cast on par with Falling Skies.

The first thing I noticed that's different this year thanks to its' move to Amazon is the unfiltered colorful language, mostly by Ambassador Avasarala. I get the feeling she has been wanting to talk that way for a loooong while.

Everyone who loves sci-fi operas should check out this show. It's like if Mass Effect was brought to TV.

I''ve seen 5 episodes now and am going to watch the last 5 this weekend. If time wasn't an issue though I would have watched them all in one go. What an incredible series and I really hope it will go on for a lot more seasons. All the characters are so strong. Might give the books a try afterwards, but as the series stays pretty close to every book I rather watch the series first and then read the books for extra story.

I posted about it before, but I think the default tdm logo video looks outdated. For a (i.m.o.) better looking version, you can download the pk4 attached to this post and plonk it in your tdm root folder. Every mission that starts with the tdm logo then starts with the better looking one. Try for example mission COS1 Pearls and Swine.

I finished DOOM - The Dark Ages the other day. It is a decent shooter, but not as great as its predecessors, especially because of the soundtrack.
