Thanks Sparhawk. I made a small update of the gravel_grey_01_tiling_1d and gravel_brown_01_tiling_1d from stone\natural directory. Grey version can be seen in the begining of Bonehoard map. I didin't like the normalmap. I think it was too flat:

So I made a new one:

I also made the texture tileable in all directions. Before it wasn't tiling in any (even though filename was tiling_1d). Gravel_brown is the same texture only colorised so I modified my version of gravel_grey and saved as brown. I tried to make the same tone as it was before:

New normalmap is 1024x1024 (old was 512x512). If no one objects I'll upload new textures. You'll have to update your map Angua and Greebo.

It's only a model...

Arcturus: Your textures are very nice! Plus, you fixed the texture in bonehoard even before I could complain about it (after seeing it yesterday night for the first time :D

Thanks Tels! I had to paint every single stone white to make a heightmap :) It's not that difficult since I have a tablet but it still takes a little work.

I don't have a tablet, but I wish I had for such work. I tried to make a texture/heightmap from Ivy leaves, but with my inprecise, jumpy optical mouse, it is just impossible.. :(

Btw, for anyone who looks in bringes sketches into a computer, and who runs windows, check this thing out:

(There is another manufacturer but I forgot the name)

You write on special paper (a bit more expensive, tho) and the pen digitzes as you draw. It has a small camera that sees special dots on the paper, enabling the pen to "know" exactly where on the paper it is.

It works really cool, I love it, unfortunately it is Windows only - stupid Logitech

Arcurus, can you please make a modified texture for me?

There is one called "rusty_diamond_pattern" and I like it. However, for metal plates, only the top should have the pattern, while I want the sides/bottom to be plain, but with the same color.

The current other "rusty flat" textures are lighter or darker. Could you make a texture with the diamond shapes removed?

Thanx!

Thank you!! :) I made that texture ages ago and didn't work about tiling. The normal was just a generated one from the picture. This looks 1000x better :)

I'll see what I can do.

Did you change the name of the material entry? Because now models using that texture are no longer working.

Well, yes. I removed the 'tiling_1d' from directories and file names. What models are using it?

edit: Oh, I see you started new thread about it. Sorry for the problem.

OK. I uploaded it as solid_rust03 in metal\flat: http://img90.imageshack.us/my.php?image=rustkv0.jpg

I posted about it before, but I think the default tdm logo video looks outdated. For a (i.m.o.) better looking version, you can download the pk4 attached to this post and plonk it in your tdm root folder. Every mission that starts with the tdm logo then starts with the better looking one. Try for example mission COS1 Pearls and Swine.

I finished DOOM - The Dark Ages the other day. It is a decent shooter, but not as great as its predecessors, especially because of the soundtrack.
