Awesome.
-
Looked so... Rough. I hope they get to complete it though.
-
I read that as "SSX 2-like indie stealth game" and got all excited about snowboard stealth.

Sooo, what are your favourite flickering light textures?

Hey guys! Start a thread in the OT section for this please. I'm also very interested in this (I bet everyone are or have to be). I'm not a specialist but I've also got the feeling that the credit raters create a self-implementing prophecy to ruin us all.
-
Certainly I think the UK has been exceptionally weak about bank regulation post the 2008 crash. Europe proper was making some serious moves towards some tax disincentives for bank naughtiness, but the UK didn't want to play nice with the other kids for fear of disgruntling our City of London finance overlords. And when it comes to regulation in a global market, lowest common denominator wins.
I know Gordon Brown was helluva unpopular, but in hindsight, this new lot we've go...

...g...go... got in are a complete disgrace.

Surely, it is time to scrap the mission, then.
-
Yes! While we are at it, we can also close the newbie DR thread if giving advise with good intentions is considered patronizing.
-
No offense was taken.
-
Started a Veteran Xenonauts campaign, entire landing party wiped out on first mission. Eeep.

Xenonauts for depth, X-COM Enemy Unknown if you haven't got much time to put into it.
"AUTORESOLVE (100% VICTORY)" ... [engage manually] ... "SIGNAL LOST, HOW DID YOU MANAGE TO FAIL THAT, SERIOUSLY, WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU"
-
Can't comment on Enemy Unknown, but Xenonauts is very faithful to the original UFO. It has a slightly slower tech creep and less terrain destruction, but otherwise, very close.
You can also try OpenXcom, which ports UFO to new hardware and adds a ton of options on the top.

I spent a lot of time in the Summer playing OpenXcom.

System Shock 2: Still freaking terrifying. Get those things away from me!

I tried to play SS1 but it just didn't made my mind. SS2 is better?
-
Well, no, but it is a very different kind of good. If you like Thief, you will almost certainly like SS2. Don't forget to install SS2Tool ( from http://www.systemshock.org/index.php?topic=4141.0 ) and the following mods: http://www.systemshock.org/index.php?topic=4447.0 These should really improve the graphics while staying faithful to the look and feel of the game.
-
Don't forget to use Newshock patch!
-
T2: Godbreaker - level 2 is excellent swamp level, level 4 is one of the great, expansive rooftop missions. Some problems, but highly recommended!

I suppose making a campaign as an individual and building for Thief Gold go hand & hand. You need to be pretty obsessed to do either. XD
-
I'm just very happy to see how much work still goes on with the original Thief games. Good mods = long life after release!

Magnificent!

The joy of Steam: can't play Deus Ex: HR without a net connection since the saves are stored on their cloud. Yaaaaay.

With the connection on my main PC restored, the saves work again. Still.
-
What NH said. Man.
-
They're not only stored in the cloud, they are saved locally and then mirrored to the cloud. Start steam in offline mode and play it that way.

The last time I visited Berlin was in Autumn 2008, the exact days the world economy collapsed and all those banks went bankrupt. My plane departs tomorrow morning, so plan accordingly.

Still not sure this article wasn't subtle satire. Head hurtz.

wtf...

It's quite possible the article is satire, but vampire and related communities are real: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Otherkin#Description The Bloodlines entry on GOG's community wishlist used to get a load of scam spam like http://rfjseddon.net/ext/vampire_spammers.png

There are no words: "Tetris, the block-stacking game that comes in near the top of many lists of greatest games ever, is being made into a live-action, feature-length, "sci-fi epic" motion picture, The Tetris Company announced today."

The Tetris Company is a real thing, and I support it because for several years, Alexey Payitnov didn't receive proper royalties from his game. So he deserves whatever money he can get for it.
The movie is still a bizarre idea, though.

There's always stuff to read, for example this. http://www.xda-developers.com/android/fairsearch-org-claims-android-is-a-trojan-horse-not-the-malware-type/

He basically rips their whole argument apart piece by piece. I found it an excellent (and funny) read.

Those days when you get up seven in the morning full of ambition, and realise it is already eight o' clock due to daylight saving time...
-
Those times when you screw up a cunning idea and end up rebuilding a few things just so you don't have to discard it? It is one of those times!

Ah, yes, now I understand. You want to make it realistic from engineering point of view. That certainly makes it more difficult, especially if you need it to have an exterior, too. If it would have only an interior, it would be really easy.
-
My strategy, if I was doing it would be like this. Since submarines do not have windows, exterior is not needed. Just build an interior inside boxy sealing geometry. If you really want to show the submarin from the outside, you could build a separate area with an exterior-only version of the ship. Since the player needs to use an airlock to get it, you teleport the player to the interior version when the player accesses the ship.
-
Hmm I will give it a try, maybe it will make a big difference.
