  1. Another thing, not sure if it's entirally related: If you have a campaign, you might want to have different maps loaded depending what you do in the mission. Currently there's one specific order, but it would be cool if another map could be loaded. So you could get different debriefings, but also different followup missions based on that. I don't want to derail the topic, so if needed this could be split into a new feature request.
  2. That is interesting question. I think no? In principle, I guess I can cover it as well. If I want to expose persistent info from mission as gui vars, I can as well copy some gui vars into persistent info before mission.
  3. Is it already possible to pass information from the briefing to the mission? I don't think I ever saw this implemented apart from the starter-location selection. TDM is currelently in early dev, maybe a bit soon to start implementing in missions? I think it's better to wait for beta, so no changes will be done to the system.
  4. Uh, you surely didn't pick the easiest map to start with. This is more like bat shit crazy complexity. Kudos for persevering and even enjoying it though. It's a nice mission. It's just... big and complex.
  5. God knows since when have I last registered or posted on a traditional internet forum, but had to do so to pay my respects for the developers and map makers of this game. I have no history of the original thief series, and had no expectations for the mod. This is the first FM I played. After running around in a bit of a haste, becoming increasingly desperate of the complexity of the map, I learned to enjoy the feeling of being lost, calmed down and started to pay attention to the surroundings and listening to the ambient sounds and music. It is a truly immersive experience. I do have to admit that I could not find the entrance to the mansion, and had to resolve to a walkthrough to figure out how to enter, and at the end of the day did not manage to finish the mission. This mod is a great achievement, thank you for all the work and passion you have put into it.
  6. Greatly enjoyed the moment of starting the mission and hearing the Beethoven's symphony. Well fit for the atmosphere of the game and provided the mood for the FM as well. I found acting against my own will by shutting off the music.
  7. In the latest dev17026-10712, GUI debriefing is supported. It works exactly the same way as GUI briefing. It would be great if someone tries it For the nearest future, I'd like to support passing information from game script to GUI debriefing. So that you could show different things in debriefing depending on what player did in the mission.
  8. The brightness was set at three clicks from max and gamma was about mid range. On some levels like down in a cavern or basement it was always too dark that is why I had it set high I'm not a youngster anymore can't see that well now!! I'll be 65 this year! P.S. I wanted to thank you for this great but short mission!!!!
  9. No, just modified darkmod.txt files with < and > added to mission name so the A and The sorting doesn't work!
  10. Perhaps this is because your in-game brightness is very high and the Start Mission option blends with the background...
  11. Right now it cannot be done (the way I think you picture it) but mission details could be made available by the developers for modding ... In the meantime: Use AngelLoader (the one tool for all your mission management needs) Use the Unofficial Patch (or parts of) Raise your voice here Set the language to Italian (ah!) Build your own executable
  12. I'm lost for some reason I can't get past the difficulty screen there is no start the mission icon? Ok it was invisible I found by blindly clicking in lower right portion of screen. I think this is because of my video settings?
  13. Turns out my 15th anniversary mission idea has already been done once or twice before! I've been beaten to the punch once again, but I suppose that's to be expected when there's over 170 FMs out there, eh? I'm not complaining though, I love learning new tricks and taking inspiration from past FMs. Best of luck on your own fan missions!

Damn, 7 Sisters, wasn't that one made by the late Lady Rowena? I have to play it, I remember playing it right after she died and I didn't even notice, those news disturbed me enough not to play 7 Sisters for the time being.

Very sad that she died, she made one of the very best FMs out there. My very first FM was one of hers even, Lady Rowena's Curse.

Yeah I still remember her too and the Seven Sisters FM...

Now I remember what the other FM was. I wanted to have part of mine set in a hospital, and T2X, which came out right afterwards too, had a level set in a hospital. After that experience I thought for most ideas you have, someone is going to have thought along similar lines. But the thing is people can have their own takes with the same idea too. So I think it's okay to have the same idea played out, if you give it your own spin.

  14. The mission database has been updated. Thank you!
  15. To anyone wondering there was a conflict between the mission and other initiatives and kingsal solved the conflict on his side and I am very grateful. Thank you, @kingsal.
  16. Hint: I checked the objectives. It is possible to not read the note and also not see the body, in which case you wouldn't know she needed reviving and then you would not be able to complete the mission. I will release an update to fix that. Since you did find her though, I don't know why you didn't get an objective to revive her. I'm not able to reproduce that bug. Finding the note is set as optional, so missing that alone wont cause a fail.
  17. Sorry, the mission must somehow be bugged for you. I'll need to figure out what went wrong and issue an update. It's likely linked to not reading the note.
  18. What a nice mission. I really liked it. Honestly, I knew I was in for a good time when the gate closed on me the way it did. The floating eyeballs that teleported that one time - great. Bad room? Nice, but I'm confused who was knocking =D Olivia is just the right amount of creepy and adorable. Story is dark, spooks good. I got jump scared in the attic when the box fell =D So tension building 10/10 A predictable scare in Mom's room, that worked wonderfully for atmosphere. Extra objective - very nice touch, but I wonder if there was a way to unlock it, not just complete it.
  19. Yes. Sure, I will change it, but I do mind. In addition to changing the forum title, I have also had the name of the pk4 changed in the mission downloader and the thiefguild.com site’s named changed. It's not just some "joke". The forum post and thread are intended to be a natural extension of the mission’s story, a concept that is already SUPER derivative of almost any haunted media story or most vaguely creepy things written on the internet in the past 10 or 15 years. Given your familiarity with myhouse.wad, you also can clearly engage with something like that on some conceptual level. Just not here on our forums? We can host several unhinged racist tirades in the off-topic section but can’t handle creepypasta without including an advisory the monsters aren’t actually under the bed? (Are they though?) I am also trying to keep an open mind, but I am not really feeling your implication that using a missing person as a framing of a work of fiction is somehow disrespectful to people who are actually gone. I have no idea as even a mediocre creative person what to say to that or why I need to be responsible for making sure nobody potentially believes some creative work I am involved in, or how that is even achievable in the first place. Anyway, apologies for the bummer. That part wasn’t intentional. I am still here. I will also clarify that while I love the game, I never got the biggest house in animal crossing either. In the end Tom Nook took even my last shiny coin.
  20. Iplayed this Mission, solving the 3 secrets and finish it getting the coin. Yes, you can finish the mission after loading the car and leave with it, but also finding the penny, gaining access to the theatre in the base entry at the end of the road. Guards turned into zombies.
  21. Walked through the mission. As everyone else here had some problems with the books puzzle. Also, opened the secret entrance to the laboratory through the wall, with the lever on the other side. Had to replay to open it with a prober books alignment. Otherwise, a very interesting short mission.
  22. I got up from the stone wall in front of the window. There are a few higher brushes that made me able to jump and mantle into the window. Thanks for your hints! Nice mission BTW
  23. So I've been cleaning off updates on the missions page by updating and replaying them and have been having difficulty with this one. I don't know if there's a trigger broken or what. Aside from my issue listed in my spoiler, I found the update plays much smoother, so thank you for that. I realize this is an older mission so may not get fixed at this point, just thought I'd mention in case.
  24. I havent tried in 2.11 yet but I will. Just an update on this. For now I think I fixed it by: - Addressing most of the warning in the log above. Outside common errors like some missing textures and such that are part of the core. - Made sure to give my parallel lights "parallelSky " "1" spawnarg. - Deleted my .aas files and rebuilt them - Dmapped the entire thing Right now I am not getting the load error . It's a very hard problem to nail down because the console isn't giving a specific script name that it's getting hung up on (if that is even the issue similar to Amadeus's problem) AND I am actively working on the mission, creating new errors, fixing other broken things. ect. Its definitely something I fear will pop back up in beta testing though
  25. It seems to be ai generated if I'm not mistaking. Sometimes the people have six fingers, sometimes the eyes are strange, sometimes the text is gibberish. But if it is done well I guess it's a comfortable way to enhance your mission intros. Very nice little mission BTW I really enjoyed it! Loved the rat secret.
