Hi all, me again Now that I've learned how to take screenies on DM (thanks to Aluminumhaste) I wanted to post one that I took but I got an error saying that the image ext that I used was not allowed in these forums, It was .jpg so I changed it to .png and I got the same error again. They're on Photobucket.

Hi, I need to know what the code is to use Spoiler Tags. I am using my tablet and I don't have the options to use anything, like spoiler tags, quote tags, text changes etc. Thanks

I'm wondering if anyone ever checks new posts in the Fan Missions Forums? I've posted 4 questions asking for help for 4 different missions that I can't finish because I"m stuck, and I don't get any help. I posted a question this morning so I don't expect an answer right away for that one. Its frustrating because I would like to finish them. I've read through the posts for each mission and I'm not getting anything from them. If there's someone who could help me I'd really appreciate it. Thanks I guess I'm spoiled from the TTLG forums.

Afternoon all I am creating a general Windows 10 tech support thread in order to detail any bugs/fixes/tweaks that people come across while using Windows 10 itself or with The Darkmod under Windows 10. I will be updating and tweaking this OP as we go and will provide an index with links to fixes as they come up. This is what I have found since completing the setup of Windows 10 pro on my PC - red - no fix found yet blue - working on fix green - fix found black - reported only Installing: How do I clean install windows 10 - if like me you have an SSD or just prefer to install windows 10 you only have one option and its a PITA (and this is the offiail method from Microsoft)Using the media-creation tool download either direct to a USB stick or an ISO and write to a USB stick via the Win7 USB tool.Backup all your data and then double click on the installer from the USB stick from with in Windows 7/8, and to save time I didn't bother choosing to download any updates(but some users might have to for the upgrade to work). Once Windows 10 is installed, shut down the machine.If like me you have an SSD I would strongly recommend a factory reset of the drive using the manufactures tool or a 3rd paty tool like PartedMagic.Then reboot the machine with your Windows 10 USB stick, and then install windows, when you get prompted (multiple times for a CD key, just click skip). The PC will reboot a few times and after about 30mins you will have a fresh install of Windows 10.Then check 'This PC' and you will find windows is activated.The crucial and pertinent fact is that the reason for installing from the USB stick is that, during the first install a hardware HASH is generated from your existing Win7/8 key & motherboard of that particular PC and then written to said USB stick. This is currently the only way I have found to do a clean install - B.S. I know but, there it is. After popping messages to many of the folks around here for various things, I decided to delegate a single thread for my various probs and proposals. Therefore avoiding the many threads I would end up creating, for a lot of the ideas and art questions as I dive into TDM more. So the first one up that sorta hit me as I was editing tonight in Dark Radiant was terrain. Now I'm fairly impressed with what the patch system can do but I have concerns with blending textures. Currently as far as I can tell, decals are limited only to actual brushes (not patches). And secondly, patches from my knowledge don't have any kind of paint mode. So I guess my other option would be modeled terrain, which actually seems easier for me. Only thing is if id 4 actually supports the method I want to use, which is vertex painting. I'm assuming that you can edit vertex colors and that they're probably preserved in the engine. But what I'm wondering is if the engine supports multiple textures being painted onto the same mesh? For painted terrain and so forth. Part of me feels like you should be able to assign three different texture layers in the shader via RGB colors, (which would be awesome!) because then I could have grass, dirt and gravel properly blending on the same mesh. I know that's something I would be able to do with Unreal, and in Source you could just paint onto displacements. So now I'm just trying to figure out the best method for accomplishing that in TDM. here is the result of the first pieces of code I wrote for tdm. I know this is very simple for you guys but it took me a few days to figure this out lol. It was a good way for me to start understanding the scripting language and the way you guys have the scripts laid out. I haven't got the hover action or click action working yet, not sure why.

Hi guys, through the "cheats" topic I got the idea, that it would be quite useful, if there were tags for missions (the post was about removing the killing restriction in some missions to suit the prefered play style). I don't know how easy or difficult this is, but with them, it would be quite convenient to pick missions with playstyles, environment, etc one does want to use. This could also be expanded to other mission properties. I remember a discussion about climbable drains, handles on doors, that cannot be picked and other things the map author chooses for himself. That way these things would be clearer and as I said before, it is easier to choose missions with playstyles that suit oneself. What do think?

Truth be told, I was seriously considering starting this thread in the I Want to Help subforum, but then I noticed (and realised) that most of the FM development threads are in the Editor's Guild anyway. So, I decided to rather start this discussion over here, in order to avoid making it "orphaned". But I have a really minor storytelling question... Is it still okay to ask about it here ? Of course it is ! This is practically the only "official" thread on narrative design we have now, so feel free to ask about anything that's primarily related to the storytelling or characters of your FM, and so on... Do we already have any useful resources on narrative and storytelling design ? Oh, certainly. The Story and Plot Design article on our wiki, contributed by demagogue. You should definitely give it a read. Any other threads or articles you might recommend ? Sotha's Mission Design Tips article is also just as helpful as demagogue's (and quite entertaining in places). There's also the Inspiration Thread, providing mostly visual inspiration for FM building, and the Historical resources article, providing links and bibliography for topics related to period living and social history that could influence an FM's design and events. I can save a mission as I play, but not with quicksave? I have to do it the long way. Do you have to put something in your pk4 pkg to get quicksave to work? Or is it a function that doesn't work at all?
