I personally think the font is appropriate, but I'll look through my font collection to see if another pops out.

BTW, I think you shouldn't use "Flood Ward" because, logically, when those covers were originally put down it wouldn't have been flooded yet, but the previous ward name... Not to mention not many FMs will ever be set there, and you don't want to limit its use. I'd use something more like Admin. Dist. or Hightowne Ward or invent an appropriate name for a ward or authority.

What do you see when you turn out the light? I can't tell you but I know that it's mine.

St. Bauduin's Foundry (or a shortened version) would have a nice ring to it. ;)

Come the time of peril, did the ground gape, and did the dead rest unquiet 'gainst us. Our bands of iron and hammers of stone prevailed not, and some did doubt the Builder's plan. But the seals held strong, and the few did triumph, and the doubters were lain into the foundations of the new sanctum. -- Collected letters of the Smith-in-Exile, Civitas Approved

As for fonts...

One of the gothics maybe -- Copperplate Gothic, Franklin Gothic, MS Gothic

As for stylized ones, that aren't so straight sans-sarif, I'm looking on dafont.com (or my collection from that and other sites; if one isn't on dafont, then search one of the other sites from inside dafont.com. They have a space for that). Ones that struck me as potentials were: Block code, Catenary Stamp, Impressed metal, Masterplan, metal block 3,Nashville, Nowarehouse, OptimusPrinceps, Reprise stamp, reprise title, square block, stamp, stencil, subway novella...

That doesn't mean I recommend them, but just to look at and think about.

On a side of metal things - what if mappers could assemble pipings from prefabed segments, corners, valves and so on, steam effects here and there?

Pipes are really easy to make in DR and with that there is the flexibity to twist them as one pleases. Steam is obtainable by simple func_emitter addition.

I don't think it would be very useful to prefab those.

I'm not that good with bendy pipes, so yes, they would be useful.

bendy pipes are easy. make cylinder. add vert density as required beforehand. grab a middle row of verts, rotate and scale them 45 on the appropriate axis, grab the rest of the verts on one side, rotate and scale 90. translate and snap to grid the result as necessary. make sure your 45 rotated verts on the bendy part are greens verts only unless you wish for a very sharp squared off bend.

Amazing work ST. Keep pushing forward

Edit: I had some problems using your stone textures. I can see them in DR, but they didn't show up in game. Do I have to pack the mission so they'll be shown?

@Bikerdude: I know how to do that. I was just curious if I actually have to to see them in game.

      Bachelor Mapping Challenge!
The girlfriend will be away to her mum's place for almost a week, which means more mapping time for me! I'm planning a speed build. Hope it will go my way
I'm starting by downloading 2.11. Don't know if I'm going to use any fancy new stuff. Just want to crack those itching map muscles that has gone dry and dead since almost a year's worth of no-mapping

The cool part of Canonical's Snap, is that my machine can now ray-trace an entire (simple) scene faster than it takes the web browser to start!

      Fm idea (braindump)
"Experience the life of a mission builder"
Esentially there are finnished elements placed somewhere in storage in the game and you have to place them in the correct places, build some walls here and there, add guard routes, give them their correct speech lines, etc. Decorate the places.. all in-game. lots of fun.. 😉
If you do it right in the end you can play the mission.
(would be even cooler if a thief-ai could play the mission, making it some kind of tower-defence game)

This first started as an idea for an aquarium builder mission where-in you have to fill an empty aquarium with sand, waterplants, castles water and swimming fish. But above idea is more fun.

Dear ChatGPT, What are The Builders in the Dark Mod?

The Builders is a popular game mode in the video game community called "Dark Mod," which is a fan-made tribute to the classic "Thief" series of stealth games. In this game mode, players assume the role of builders who construct structures in a dark and ominous environment while trying to avoid detection by patrolling guards.
The Builders game mode is unique in that it offers players the opportunity to create and design their own levels using the in-game tools and resources provided. Players can experiment with different building materials, construct intricate traps and puzzles, and create their own unique gameplay experiences.
While The Builders game mode is not an official part of the Dark Mod, it has become one of the most popular and well-loved aspects of the game, thanks to its emphasis on creativity, strategy, and stealth.

You guys did not know that, did you?
