Thief 2 is the first on my wish list next year! I decided to over come my fears of visuals in this game since you all show so many pictures from it. ( and since I use steam...)

Not all missions though are upto this level of visual quality.

Have you guys seen this article from Demagogue:

http://wiki.thedarkm...and_Plot_Design

Now this is some serious inspiration, and food for thought.

That article might need some serious summarizing. I am pretty sure it is very good, but I don't think I can muster the strength to read it all and follow it :) A few images might help tremendously making the material accessible.

Nah, this is about writting, if you don't like to read, you don't like to writte, that's kind of how I see it. ;)

I hate it when I post stuff just before it tips over to the next page, so the post I made is hidden etc...

Spotted Skacky cranking out some cracking visuals on T2....

Man we could do with this guy making some TDM mission's for us. (he did have a brief flurry with the Whiterose hotel that Springs is now working on), but man I love city missions like this. That said these shots are from a T2 mission in beta atm and should be released very soon ;-D

Or how about these ones from Purgator...

Thanks. I like to write on it every so often, and it still has incomplete sections. I feel happy writing & thinking about it.

I did think about making a (separate) summary version too when I finish, but I wanted to figure out everything I needed to say to know what to boil down. And yes, I did have some ideas for some graphical aids, simple plot diagrams, & screenshots of ideas taken from FMs too.

What do you see when you turn out the light? I can't tell you but I know that it's mine.

Here's what has been inspiring me lately using Google Images:

Bath, England:

San Gimignano, Italy:

And finally Cologne Cathedral in Germany:

As soon as you walk away I'm going to use some hot water and salt so I can take a nap for the remaining 5 and a half hours. Hey, it looks like they modeled that Italian town after the one in Assassin's Creed!

It looks like a weekend in Bath with my camera is due.

Is it waterproof?

I was thinking the same thing when I first saw it. I stumbled across it when I searched for "medieval skyscrapers". The towns nickname is the Medieval Manhattan.

So I was rewatching The Crucible yesterday and thought some of the interior shots were quite well captured, and even though it's a slightly simplified set design, it is still very interesting to see how they organized the spaces, and specially the structural layout of the buildings, the color palette and the proportions:

A little bit bright but I thought this would inspire nonetheless:

Musical inspiration.....

I'm thinking of making a thief-style machinema video of this song. It's what inspired me to get back into game development.

Hmm, hopes your version sounds better than this one does.

(I just write this down, because it's on my mind)
I think it's time somebody makes the city hub fm 😉
Technically I see 2 possible ways.
      1. One is where everything takes place inside one mission and you teleport to different enclosed areas of the map to do subquests.
      2. Another is a campaign style mission. You start inside the cityhub. When you do a subquest, the mission ends, but the next mission you load the specific quest-map. This questmap you load is depended on what subquest you choose to start inside the map. Afterwards you load the 3th mission in the campaign which will be the cityhub map again, but via persistant info, changes some things inside the map (for example, you can't do the same subquest twice) and you have more gold maybe, etc, etc. So if the cityhub has 5 subquest missions that can be played in any order, the total amount of missions in the campaign would be 10, but the amount of map files 6. Because if you start in the cityhub map, after each subquest mission, you return to the cityhub map again, except for the last mission. When you make missions later you can add them to the cityhub again and make it bigger.
(This seems all possible with changes made in TDM 2.13 , but I'm not 100% sure. It's at least an interesting project to work on)

I started using Unexpected Keyboard for Android phone.
It's pretty cool, because it has an actual Ctrl key, which you can use to do cut, copy and paste actions via x, c and v. pretty handy in the forums, to move quoted text around for example.

Dammit there are too many missions available now. That's what I get for being away for so long. Such a first-world problem.

The best thing about not mapping more than like every other year is the awesome feeling to see how far TDM has gotten in all appartments. I can just create some parallaxing cobblestones and walk to and fro and just let the jaw drop
