After experimenting with blocking arrows, fireballs and hammer/mace attacks using wooden crate in the thief game and posting the results on ttlg, I am now experimenting with blocking stone throwing attacks using a water can in TDM

It's a shame you can't divert them like a Jedi. Maybe with a plugin..

@taffernicus What exactly did you do with that book?

Think of the book as a surface that can be pierced by arrows and  is very flexible to be carried over anywhere. Orient the book to upright with the front side/back side of the book and the tail of the rope arrow facing you, jump normally like jumping into a rope arrow while continuously pressing the key W (move forward) and space together on the keyboard.

well i am habitual to using iptables to a certain extent. The simplicity of BSD's packet filter is fascinating.  I begin to muse on the possibility of rolling my own x86 router and the pros&cons of it

"I really perceive that vanity about which most men merely prate — the vanity of the human or temporal life. I live continually in a reverie of the future. I have no faith in human perfectibility. I think that human exertion will have no appreciable effect upon humanity. Man is now only more active — not more happy — nor more wise, than he was 6000 years ago. The result will never vary — and to suppose that it will, is to suppose that the foregone man has lived in vain — that the foregone time is but the rudiment of the future — that the myriads who have perished have not been upon equal footing with ourselves — nor are we with our posterity. I cannot agree to lose sight of man the individual, in man the mass."...

Cool thing: Thanksgiving break means I don't have to get my son up before dawn

Not cool thing: My son stays up all night on my PC so I don't get much TDM time...

Does anyone know if the mission/map in this video posted by @Springheel can still be found somewhere and played? Looks like fun.
