Hey everyone, I'm in the process of learning how to use the Dark Radiant editor. I'm creating a "test mission" for myself, I already built my map with all the models, entities, the objectives I set are working perfectly, there is only one thing I can't tackle: Readables. I don't know why, but when I put down a readable prefab on my map, edit it in the Readable Editor, and try to save it, I get the following error: "You have imported an XData definition that is contained in a PK4, which can't be accessed for saving. - Please rename your XData definition, so that it is stored under a different filename." And when I rename my XData name, I get the following error: "Mod path not defined. Using base path." Everything so far is crystal clear with Dark Radiant, but I seriously can't understand this whole thing about xd files, XDatas, and stuff. Can anyone help me with this?

I know it was the wife owners birthday and that it was 3 days before what every day of the month it is in the game - but cant seem to find anything that would inidcate what bloody day/date it is atm.

Is there something I have to do to enable the LOD system for an ordinary object (i.e a func_static)? I created a model (the higher poly version), then added an lod_1_distance of 300 and a model_lod_1 referring to the lower poly version, but in game I only see the higher poly version. I've also placed a "atdm:brazier_large01" entity which confirms that LODs are working when set up correctly. Do I have to use an entity or use some other class? I've tested the lod 1 version as an ordinary model and it shows up correctly in game. Properties:

So I have two textures that I created for a roulette table I made in DR, but the bloody textures is appearing incorrectly in DR and in-game. The transparents bits are appearingh black, and whites bits transparent. Could someone have a look and see what the hell I have done wrong please? -mega

When I click on the Thief 3 editor icon, I get this window that is searching for a file, but I don't know. It wants me to search for a vocabulary file or when I click on all files, and then I click cancel, nothing happens. I have Thief Deadly Shadows installed with the Sneaky Upgrade patch and the level editor installed, I followed directions, but now I'm lost. I hate to redo everything from scratch, but I guess whatever I did wrong, I need better instructions I guess.

In all the time have worked on TDM mission I have never managed to get this bloody thing to work, so can I ask a favour please? Can someone edit the 'mainmenu_briefing.gui' so it allows for 10 briefing pictures and texts please. The one from the wiki allows for 6 - briefing_buttons.zip

This is driving me nutty. Going through my old dvds I vaguely recalled a movie I liked but can't remember its title. This is all I can remember: Very wealthy guy. Sort of Mel Gibson or George Clooney clean cut type (but not wisecracking in this movie where he's more desperate.) I can't track it in any of their filmographies. He kind of has to relive part of his life differently or his world changes anyway somehow. One of these moral messages like It's a Wonderful Life. I think he wakes up at home in bed and everything's changed and he doesn't believe it at first. There's a wife but I can't recall maybe in the previous life she'd left him. Another scene: he's at home. Little kid, not sure if girl or boy but he/she is the only one who realises he's not who he's supposed to be. I think he/she says something like 'where's my real daddy?' One scene I recall he goes to this big office block (glass fronted etc). He owns the block or at least is president of the company or maybe its just a swanky apartment block. Anyway, the doorman (probably a black guy but not sure) won't let him in because he doesn't know him. There might be some supernatural person/angel whatever appearing now and again to tell him stuff. I got deja vu that a few years back I was also searching for this movie and it took me hours. I'm sure I've watched this two or three times already. I'd guess it's a late 90's or early 2000's date. Hope it wasn't on an old VHS tape 'cos I threw those out now I don't have a player. Not much to go on but maybe one of you will recoginise it? Please?

I'm wondering if anyone ever checks new posts in the Fan Missions Forums? I've posted 4 questions asking for help for 4 different missions that I can't finish because I"m stuck, and I don't get any help. I posted a question this morning so I don't expect an answer right away for that one. Its frustrating because I would like to finish them. I've read through the posts for each mission and I'm not getting anything from them. If there's someone who could help me I'd really appreciate it. Thanks I guess I'm spoiled from the TTLG forums.

My main Win7 PC crashed out. I suspect a bad partition. I've got it working somewhat but it's likely to crash and need rebooting regularly depending what I'm doing. Two programs won't run at all, one being my email program. I've managed to rescue a backup mailbox only two days old and copied it to my old Win XP machine in the other room. Not yet tried to run it there until I've figured out some more stuff. Because I mainly use my PSP for gaming, I've been considering getting a mini pc for general use but not easy to get Win7 (Win8 or 10 I don't want!) There is a lot of confusion about needing a product key (which of course I won't have if I buy a new mini pc without an OS!) So, sick of M$soft, I'm now considering Linux. After learning that Ubuntu provides an image file I can download and burn to DVD and try it from there I did so (on my good XP machine) but on booting the DVD I get a message 'Try' or 'Install'. At that point I see a blank desktop with a taskbar at the top and a couple of items on it like shutdown. If I click 'Try' I see two icons appear for a fraction of a second at top left which then disappear. Then over the next few minutes I hear the drive working and see a couple of blank coloured screens. Finally a blank pale white(grey?) screen. I have a working mouse pointer but nothing else. I've tried right click, left click all over the screen. Tried various keys but nothing, no icons, no taskbar, nothing. If I click near the left or top borders I sometimes hear the drive working and a circular pointer suggesting it's working but that times out. I've also sometimes seen the pointer change to what looks like the text editing pointer. After 30 minutes I gave up. Had to pull the plug. On rebooting I got the same. Rebooting without the disc in I get my XP back (Phew! I was worried it had wiped it!) Any ideas? It should run from the DVD so I can try it out first, But if I should choose the install option instead, where will it install? I've got plenty of space but will it ask where to install? Will it wipe over my XP install or what?Will it create a new bootable partition? I only really want to install if and when I get a new mini pc. Any other Linux versions that let you download an iso image? I just want to try Linux! PS: With no email working yet, I'll have to remember to come back here a few times each day to see if any answers so don't hold your breath.

We have some internal changes happening in the TDM source code now. As a result of these changes, Linux build is not working in the latest SVN version. This is not appropriate of course The idea is to fix Linux build incrementally, step by step. But the problem is: I have only 64-bit Linux in virtual machine, and it cannot run TDM there. I would be very grateful if some Linux geeky player could help me with testing the builds. In order to do this, you need: Real Linux OS installed (i.e. not in VM) Running native Linux build of TDM Some skill to build TDM (I think this point follows from the previous one) Basic SVN skills Unlimited internet access The last point is needed because testing should be done against uncompressed assets (instead of pk4 archives). Note that I would fix compilation problems myself, so C++/programming skills are not necessary If you can help, please let me know.

Hey guys whenever I click the start mission option of a new mission, then it redirects me to the training mission page and im forced to play training missions in spite of having many mission installed. Pls help.
