  1. system Linux 4.9.0-6-amd64 x86_64 on Intel Core i7-6700K NVIDIA GP104 [GeForce GTX 1070] driver 384.130 Tears of St.Lucia when start diving in the sewer the screen splits (nice fx) binding of the arrow-keys does not work properly any ideas ? thanks to the team for your hard work
  2. Open up the darkmod.cfg file, you'll find a line that says r_customHeight XXXX and r_customWidth XXXX, change those to match your screen res and start TDM and it should be fixed.
  3. @nbohr1more: Thanks hugely. TDM 2.04 installed using your method. The install folder (F:\darkmod here) should pre-exist or the installer will baulk, in case anyone else tries it. Best to run it from there. "The Outpost" ran fine, except for a single audio-jarring crash once, near the start. Reloaded and finished. As you might expect with lower settings, torches could occasionally be seen through doors and doorframes, and a plume of black smoke crowned each one. Water surface was black, and sky was oddly mobile. Underwater was crazily magnified-ish. "A House Of Locked Secrets" gave up wit
  4. Here's some images - https://i.imgur.com/YavETAo.jpg https://i.imgur.com/8D8iWw1.jpg Alt-enter worked but stretches my screen beyond the proper 4:3 aspect ratio.
  5. Judging by that particular monitor's response time (5ms) I would say its a TN panel and this is just something that goes along with TN panels in my experience. Regardless if you're using 32bit color output in Windows/Linux, the monitor is limited in its color spectrum as are all 8bit panels. 10bit panels can provide the full color gamut but they are prohibitively expensive. Also, since its an older monitor, it more than likely has CCFL backlight which is something else that hinders proper black color reproduction. LED backlighting is much better at producing black blacks. Looking at y
  6. OK. To start, why are you using darkmod.x86 on Linux when we now offer darkmod.x64 ? To use the 32-bit build you would still need 32-bit libraries. After the above, I believe that S3TC libraries are still "non-free" so you'd need to augment your free drivers with S3TC support. Finally, set your resolution to match your screen: seta r_customHeight "800" seta r_customWidth "1280" seta r_fullscreen "1" seta r_mode "-1" seta r_aspectRatio "2"
  7. My screen seems to divide itself when I go underwater. The bottom left quarter updates, but the rest is static. System: https://pastebin.com/5MQf2Gz0
  8. We use scissor tests to prevent off-screen rendering and reduce fillrate consumed by stencil shadows. If you wish to compare, disable them via cvar: r_useEntityScissors 0 r_useInteractionScissors 0 r_useLightScissors 0 r_useScissor 0 r_useShadowSurfaceScissor 0 r_useClippedLightScissors 0
  9. My system is Windows 7 64bit on a i5 2500 with a Geforce 1050 and I didn't notice increased stuttering both using 32bit or 64bit executables, at least with soft shadows off. But I noticed something else that wasn't there in 2.05: Quickloading has a small delay, like about a second or more showing the game continuing before it triggers! In 2.05 the loading screen appears immediately in comparison. Also at least in 2.05 the mouse changes for a small time to the default windows version which doesn't really look cool and should be fixed if it hasn't been already!
  10. Installed with no problems. Renabling sound and loading FM still brings me back to main screen. cannotlaunch.txt file in attachment. cannotlaunch.txt
  11. Unchecked read only (it was on only for some files). No change. By installing and loading "A New Job" I get a revert back to new menu and not to briefing screen. But same effect as before. Darkmod.cfg - https://1drv.ms/u/s!AvGDCLNzgVKKguwVyONR9E4wk3-MzQ
  12. Please help!! My cat stepped on the keyboard while I was playing and reduced the size of my game screen to a small window. Now the mouse is not working on it and it can only be minimized/maximized or closed if I press the windows key.Restarting my laptop do not resolve it and the cat refuses to make TDM work again.
  13. Restarting the laptop doesn't solve it?! That is strange. But you can try alt+ tab to select the game window then alt+enter to return to full screen, i do think the last one requires the game to be set for fullscreen. If that doesn't work, you can also bring the game console down by clicking control+alt+the key above tab, for English keyboards is the key with (~), and then write quit or exit.
  14. Is there anything at all non-typical about how the game is installed or playing, e.g., are you playing it off a USB drive or an external hard drive? Have you ever played with any of the files or is it in the same state as when you first installed it? For that matter, did you do a fresh re-install in case some files got deleted or changed? Have you always had this problem from the first time you played the game, or is it something new that occurred after a certain date (and if the latter, what kinds of things might have happened around that time)? I was going to ask about file permissions (that

  16. Checked Nvidia control panel, nothing looks forced, things are left up to applications. The updater was crashing instantly so I tried a fresh copy of the game, updated, same problem in the game even with default in-game settings. I can get one or two 1 frame flashes on the pre-mission screen, then just black. If I can find any solutions on my own by messing with things, I'll post it.Found the problem (sort of). Alberic's Curse mission was causing the problem. Other missions work fine, but the pre-mission menu for that one mission causes a black screen. No idea why, I'll try uninstalling
  17. It happens every time. Yes, immediately on startup. The game comes up as if in window mode, with gray inside, then I get a crash message. The title screen never even comes up. (In the early versions, that gray was on a few seconds before the title screen came up, but now you don't normally see it because the title comes up so fast. But that's why I mentioned it, so people would know it's crashing before the title screen comes up.) Well here's a screenshot of it:
  18. A couple of questions, have you tried overclocking your CPU or checked to see if Windows is parking the cores? Have you tried using GPU-z to see your GPU RAM usage during gameplay? TDM is still largely single core performance driven, try monitoring your CPU usage and frequency. I used HWINfo and Riva tuner statistics server to show usage on screen.
  19. If you have read the tdm 2.04 publication on our forum, you know that I am working on several installation-applications to install the TDM-gamefolder and -updater. Now I am near at the last step to publish the first stable version of the installer for Windows, But I looking for people to do the last tests. You can help me do the following steps and post the results in this topic. Download the TDM-installer zip file from my google driveunpack the zip file.run the installer. (test 1: Check if you see to the welcome screen, after you accepted the unknown publisher-warning)at the screen where yo
  20. For the purpose of not writing in another thread I'll do it here. Is there any way to enable the monitor refresh rate to 72 Hz in-game? There is a conveniantly placed widescreen togglable settings for 16:9 and vice versa to 4:3 but... not this crucial graphics option. The game runs by default at 60 Hz. Whenever it's running at 60 - screen tearing may occur due to circumstances that may be, this in turn hits performance because by running the game at 30 FPS by default, any framerate hit will be more noticeable, whereas with 60 FPS as the max. the human eye can't notice it. My current LG Fl
  21. I was having this problem too - the crazy intense OOO! from lights in too many missions was making me abandon them as the sound makes me feel physically ill. Pretty sure this could result in actual hearing damage if you were exposed to that sound for too long. But thanks very much to HMart - I followed his editSounds procedure on the console (required exiting from full screen mode) and set the sound of the yellow lights in Full Moon Fever (one of the worst offenders) to -50, saved it, and now they're completely silent. Should work whenever you encounter overly intense noises from lights or o
  22. A few days ago I downloaded the latest TDM. Today I downloaded 3 missions and I went straight to the video settings and set the screen to 1920x1080 -(I should have chosen 1920x1200 but my monitor does both) The screen stopped and I got a "no video input" message which is my ACER monitor's default message for not connected. CTR ALT DEL would not get me a screen back so I had to turn off power and let it reboot. Everything is good. But, if I run TDM the same thing happens after I click TDM I immediately get the "no video input" message again and the screen loses all touch with the system. I
  23. I use catalyst. Radeon OSS results in a black screen where the menu screen should be. User permission is Owner: Can View and Modify Content. Groups and Others: Can View Content
  24. Did you not see the mirrors and reflections in Vanished One's "In the Black"..? They were great - especially the puddles of water. // also the rotation origin bug in dr24 appears to have been fixed in dr25
  25. My folder was set to read only. I changed that and I got a different error. An Open GL error. I tried a different mission and it went back to the blue screen. I have tried a couple more times and it's just blue screen again. Something odd happens: I uncheck the read only part, but when I click again, it's back on read only. I changed the permissions on the folder to give myself full control, but the problem persists. I tried the solution on the Microsoft website to remove read only and make it a system folder, but that didn't make any difference. I am the owner of the file. I guess it's a gr
