I couldn't watch the whole thing. To me this kind of speech sounds like fear of change.

Not at all, it couldnt more oposite to that sentiment.

I find it strange that he wanted to reduce us all to skulls. In a world like that, who would provide food for him? Who would have built him a place to live and roads to traverse?

I'm only 8 min in but I kind of have to disagree with this guy. I agree with him on the premise of having a usable, shippable interface but I don't agree with him when he continues to say, "Stop forking". In his mind and from a business perspective, sure, its wasted energy to create new vs. improving existing, however in my mind, you can liken Linux to human DNA. Its constantly evovling, changing, adapting, and re-inventing itself and to put dampers on that is insane.

 

What Linux will become 5yrs, 10yrs, 15yrs down the road none of know but what we do know is the more forking the more imagination and the more ideas that are put forth whether they succeed or not and that is never a bad thing.

 

We can always look back through the code and pull a lot of that forward and it will all evolve how its suppose to. If forking was to halt, what Linux is and has always been which is an idea cauldron would cease to be.

I'm pretty sure Goro Goro Iki doesn't actually exist (even though it sounds awesome: http://wikibin.org/articles/goro-goro-iki.html).

Except for that article the only other mentions of it are related to ChipCheezum and General Ironicus (the guys who made that video, and the first mention of it was by Ironicus in a Let's Play...).

The principle is obvious but never thought you could use an old TV for this. Would be useful for many things.
