  1. i did not found a sollutions on the tdm forums. But on the ubuntu forums on D3, i found a simular problem at the following topic: https://ubuntuforums.org/archive/index.php/t-1206822.html - edit - see new post.
  2. @OrbWeaverI'd also like to think these forums are more civilised, which makes the highly undignified original post in this thread stand out all the more like a sore thumb. If members of the community still want to discuss Islam and atheism they could do that in a new thread that starts with a level-headed and well-reasoned opening that doesn't contain crude slurs.
  3. On the other hand, this is the Dark Mod forum which in my experience tends to be an order of magnitude more civilised than most forums (especially game-related forums which tend to be full of toxic entitled 12-year-olds). I give it a 50/50 chance.
  4. I used to try to desperately defend Islam as being like "any other religion" on a few occasions when I first joined these forums. I am still a liberal, a secular humanist, but I am becoming more cynical of the leadership of the Democrat Party's reasonings for defending Islam despite it standing for everything they oppose. Islam is not like any other religion, I am finally willing to admit, thanks to Ridvan Aydemir, or Apostate Prophet. Islam is cruel, corrupt, evil, degenerate, perverted to a level that disgusts me. Muhammad wasn't a perfect man, he was a murderous sex fiend who made up bullshit about flying to space on a buraq (donkey with a peacock tail and lady face) and that sperm was produced in the ribs and that the sun sets in a small mud puddle that Alexander the Great found. Islam is evil, it treats women like subsapient sex cattle and murders gays, atheists, apostates, and those brave enough to speak against it. Death to Islam, and fuck that pedophile Muhammad, who married a 6 year old Aisha, molested her for 3 years before vaginally raping her, and beat her until she couldn't breathe when she spoke out against his crazed claims! He gave that poor girl Stockholm Syndrome so she lead his army of rapist bandits into reconquering his lands after his just death of poisoning by his Jewish sex slave, whose father and brother he murdered in front of her! Muhammad was less than pigshit, and I am atheist, but on off-chance Hell exists, Muhammad is drowning in an ocean of boiling pig shit down there for his evil acts during his life that affect the world to this day! He murdered poets who mocked his psychotic and perverted behavior, he hated dogs and killed non-Abrahamic folk mercilessly and put Jews and Christians into brutal second class citizenship, he facilitated a sex slave trade of women!
  5. Man, I was excited to try this. I'm having issues getting it to work. Dove into their forums and did some research and it seems I'm not the only person with my issue. Best I could come up with after 4 hours of trying reinstalls and other workarounds and digging through their forums is "wait a week for a patch and hopefully it works". Bummed cuz I love S.T.A.L.K.E.R. and was looking forward to trying this with other add-ons. I shan't give up tho.
  6. First of all, don't expect to get Wiki editing privileges the moment you register on the forums. Typically, knowledge base is updated by experienced users.
  7. I dont know. And please create your own forum account. Instead of a temporary one. (proof: http://bugmenot.com/view/forums.thedarkmod.com)
  8. These are a few threads I found. Don't forget TTLG has a long history of talking about FM ideas too-- https://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=134149 https://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=133048 https://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=33693
  9. Is there by any chance a repository of "thieving event" ideas somewhere in these forums? I'm not talking about ideas for an entire mission, I'm just talking about single events or NPC encounters or small quests or even a puzzle that could fit into a larger mission. I ask because I'm building a mission and want to add a couple clever side events to fill out my mission. I've searched these forums but haven't found anything. Thanks in advanced for your help,
  10. I guess it's up to you to ignore it then. I've known many of the people around these forums for well over 15 years now, so I like to know what's going on in their lives.
  11. DarkRadiant 2.7.0 is ready for download. It's a maintenance build for the most part, but it contains a few smaller improvements. As usual, a bit of refactoring and improvement has been happening under the hood, but this shouldn't have any negative impact. It's recommended to prefer this version over any previous release. A new DarkRadiant User Guide is being worked on and available on the website https://www.darkradiant.net/userguide (also accessible through the About > User Guide menu option). Windows and Mac Downloads are available on github: https://github.com/codereader/DarkRadiant/releases/tag/2.7.0 and of course linked from the website https://www.darkradiant.net Thanks go out to all who helped testing this release! Please report any bugs or feature requests here in these forums, following these guidelines: Bugs (including steps for reproduction) can go directly on the tracker. When unsure about a bug/issue, feel free to ask. If you run into a crash, please record a crashdump: Crashdump Instructions Feature requests should be suggested (and possibly discussed) here in these forums before they may be added to the tracker. 12. Maybe it's something with older users' migration to newer version of the forums? At least that's the first thing I'd look for. Edit: btw. I can't change profile picture either.
  13. @Springheel Not me. I see the edit button. @Dragofer Did you try manually adding /photo/ to the addres of your profile page? When I click edit it goes to this address: https://forums.thedarkmod.com/index.php?/profile/38387-strunk/photo/
  14. Thanks for sharing boissiere. Should've clarified that the button's missing on both mobile and desktop versions of the forums. My equivalent of your screenshot is: Tried clicking on the spot where the button *should* be but it just brings up a closeup of my current image.
  15. Not so long ago I found what could make a pretty good profile picture and decided to try it out on these new forums. But I couldn't find a button anywhere that would let me change it. I asked on Discord and it seems Spooks also couldn't find anything anywhere. So I logged into an old alternative account and, lo and behold, that account has a button. This is on the first screen I get when I: 1) click on my account name in the top-right of the browser -> 2) click on 'profile'. Compared to my actual account: Are you also missing this button on your account? It'd be very much appreciated if that functionality could be restored to any of the affected accounts.
  16. No, the bugtracker is based on Mantis, it doesn't share account info with the forums.
  17. I'm not sure what you mean by "CMS". If this is CMS aka wordpress, then there is website and forums. If you mean wiki, then here is the wiki. If you mean bugtracker, then here is one. Switching from one system to another is always a lossy process. Also, pretty much everything I listed above on TDM side is better and more well-known than builtin solutions which GitHub provides. MediaWiki is the widest-known wiki engine. Mantis is very popular too, although today's trend is using the awful Jira-monster. Forum is probably not so good (I have never heard about our Forum engine until now). As for website, is there anything except for GitHub pages on GitHub? This is perhaps not important for all the hipster developers hanging around, talking about trends and coolness... but I regularly browse through years-old history. I do SVN blame and read commits from 2008 explaining why something was done. I dig issues from TDM 1.04 times. I search over the forums to find what some stale shader was doing originally and how to use it. Migration from svn to git can save most of the history, but migrating other things sounds like an even more stupid idea. Well, we have CI/autobuild (thanks to Cabalistic). TDM bugtracker is very good, much more detailed than GitHub tracker yet not monstrous like Jira. And it is filled with lots of useful history SVN blame and SVN log is enough for history. Insights... is it the metric like who made more commits and which months was more "productive" ? ? That's the reason why I suggested creating an official mirror of source code repo on GitHub. And don't forget about "increased visibility", which is also very important. It would be a waste of time. There is already one such repo by Nbohr1more, and it gets constant warnings about its size (BTW, I have a reduced git repo with third-party libs excluded from history). Moreover, I think it is updated only manually now. In order to set up a mirror, collaboration with our admin is necessary to provide automatic updates. Just converting the repo and putting it on GitHub would be useless.
  18. @JackFarmer Yes. Well, maybe? I want to make it look like he's been dead for a while in that chair, and I could imagine it'd help if the hands and feet were also positioned in certain ways. @ERH+ yeah a temporary table in front of the chair seems like a pragmatic solution in the absence of other tools. Still very tricky - I remember spending ages dropping the shopkeeper's wife in Perilous Refuge trying to get her to land sideways on the bed for a more fetal position. Had to do it several times even before I figured out the modified map file gets written to the base darkmod/maps folder, instead of fms/*mission*/maps. Fortunately I found an article about this on the forums, after remembering I only searched the wiki. It looks like it has everything needed, including console commands, to make this task manageable. Will have to try this out and probs update the wiki: http://forums.thedarkmod.com/index.php?/topic/6677-guide-to-ingame-moveable-and-ragdoll-editing/

Swing and miss, couch psychologist. I'm actually pretty likeable fellow in RL, and I've been leading a happy, fulfilled life Not sure what makes you think that this community is "tainted" by my presence, when your posts are just pasted words of others. At least I make original content that everyone here can enjoy using. But to honor STiFU's request, I'll leave you with a positive example on how you can do this stuff, and that's how Henke on TTLG's General Gaming posts. He actually gives a damn about actual conversation whenever he posts something about games, e.g. here: https://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=150251
  20. Very nice, it's great to see more effort being put into this longstanding project. What I particularly like about your approach is to keep supernatural references subtle, at least when compared to T3's overblown take on it. I've written a fair share of lines of my own over the years, that I'll include within the spoilers below (you'll have to teach me how to have multiple spoilers within a post without them all getting nested into each other in these new forums). What I personally had in mind, especially when I most recently worked on the alerts and searching barks, was something like a Celtic tribesman - rough, superstitious and not afraid to enter hand-to-hand combat with the intruder. Another archetype of Pagan may be the secret worshippers you'd find in the city living in attics and mostly staying among their own. Some lines may be more suitable for one than the other (or possibly neither), plus I've demarcated some lines for a possible shaman. I imagine we could be choosing, refining and merging the best lines from each script to come to a final product.
  21. The br tags were added by me to the mission page. It works on the website but apparently it is rendering incorrectly in-game. I think we should fix that on the TDM side rather than living without basic line breaking on the website side and having all mission descriptions look like a wall-of-text...
  22. On the Download Missions page, when you go to your mission's full Description, there are a bunch of <\br> tags. Thought that might be a problem with how your description was written, as I checked a few different missions and didn't see the issue there? I tried to grab a screenshot, but somehow failed. (I think screenshots sometimes capture background TDM menus/pages instead of the active window.) And since I've already downloaded your mission, it's not on the Download Missions page for me anymore. Hopefully you can replicate
  23. Hi, knowing that this is a more tech savvy forums I wanted to share a struggle with some documents that maybe someone has any knowledge how to solve. I've been working for the past days looking for ways to edit a large number of pages (1850) into an easily readable text, read for instant printing, all of this being easy to email in portions. The text are photos I made from some text files but the margins are not even all the time. Therefore I need an application that sees the real margins of the text and can crop it automatically to those margins. Tried everything ABBYY Fine Reader 11, Adobe Acrobat Reader DC, Adobe Photoshop, Scan Tailor, AVS image converter. None of them seem to have any options to properly bring these files in order. I need to have some margins removed so that only the text remains for printing. But I need to do it fast and automatically. I do not care about this being editable/searcheable text like Optical Character Recognition features. TLDR I need an app like TinyScanner for phones https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.appxy.tinyscanner&hl=en . However I did not have time to wait and let it process 1850 pages in one day. Also that app occasionally crashed while processing files. But, the features that it has, it seems I cannot find on PC's which I'm baffled about! If anyone has any clue where to look for, please let me know. Thanks in advance.
  24. Aha! Aha! That would be it. I did search the forums for instructions because I was obviously doing something wrong. Aha! This is a great mission, BTW. I've found 4 secrets so far. I'm still stuck on the final mission objective but I suspect that last thing I need will be down in the tombs.
