  1. Remember you have to click the "expand tree" arrow left from the dark mod icon in task manager to get the option to minimize. Previously I used 2.10 with win 10 64bit and minimized without any problems apart from listening the menu audio during minimization.

The Whisperer 100% off on GOG https://www.gog.com/en/game/the_whisperer The giveaway ends on July 17th 2023, at 1 PM UTC.
  3. I am not betatesting 2.11 but upon playing some older missions with the latest beta version I noticed that when I try to minimize dark mod by hitting ctrl+Alt+delete and the choosing the process from task manager right click minimize, the game crashes.
  4. Also, the training mission has an example of this.
  5. I like this feature - especially because it allows you to select and manipulate objects that are in a group, something I just complained about a few days ago. Good timing! I played around with it for a few minutes, didn't see any issues. However, I did notice something in this version of DR. The Camera view does not behave as expected. Examples: In Camera view, the ESC key no longer deselects. In ortho views, ESC deselects fine, but in the Camera window, it doesn't do a thing. Undo doesn't seem to redraw in the camera window either. Selecting an object in ortho view doesn't highlight it in the camera window. Are these known issues?
  6. I would definitely love to see something like this. It would be a great way to write a cliffhanger or lead-in to a subsequent FM, and I would have used this for A Good Neighbor were it an option at the time. Ideally, it should also allow for custom music to be played; different from the music played during the briefing And yeah, when it comes to GUIs, simplicity is always best. These suckers are complicated and I have spent way too much time lately diving into these.
  7. The subtitle cvars are not for user configuration, they are internal. They would change only if if TDM developer decides that... if player changes that, it would be his problem. Just like very many cvars which are totally not for the user to change. I just committed it in svn rev 10358, so expect it to arrive... I guess I'll publish dev build this weekend. I decided that options always start with minus, while commands always start with letter. That's how parsing can work in well-defined way, regardless of linebreaks. The final syntax is: -durationExtend 0.5 -dx 0.4 Also, for now it only work on inline comments (warning and subtitle removal when applied to SRT).
  8. the stuttering is a known problem with UE5 based games, as far as i know it is caused by a bug in the shader mechanism, most UE5 games should have it fixed by now though. Probably wont be in the cheap bin until the expansion comes out, might be worth it to wait though
  9. Snatched sorry for the dumb question, but you're testing this on a fresh virgin TDM right? No mods installed?
  10. I literally registered just to point out that people HAVE been raising this as a serious accessibility issue since as far back as 2008. It's been repeatedly brought up over and over and over again. And that is just here on the official forums. If you really mean what you've said I think you should find it genuinely concerning that one of the single most widely discussed accessibility issues in gaming has been repeatedly brought up for over a decade with your game and apparently this is the first you've heard of it... even though it's even been subject to multiple issues in your issue tracking system according to these threads and other google results.
  11. Promising! A subtle fume signals that something has been added to the tip of the arrow. The compound is corrosive and renders the arrow unusable afterwards. A winning gimmick.
  12. I created third version of debug executable (for TDM 2.11). Could someone please reproduce the crash again and post new console log?
  13. The focused elements are not necessarily from the same single group, right now any selection can be focused on. When cloning or creating objects adding it to a group might not be what's intended. Of course, selecting just a single group would make that desirable, not sure if the logic determining that would be a nightmare or not. This would be a separate feature request. It's similar to the reparent primitives or merge entities commands. There'll be need for some conventions when having more than one group selected. I see the point, and yes, it's possible to disable drag-selection for cam views. Separate feature request of course.
  14. I've been binging this show tonight, I'm really digging it. Apparently it's based off the works of horror manga artist and writer Junji Ito, known as the "H.P. Lovecraft of the East"?
  15. I always thought he had some feelings for Victoria. How can you fall in love with another human if you did with a spirit / goddess once? Seriously. Am I the only one who noticed some sort of.. caring.. Just before "the incident in the cathedral"?
  16. Books are out of scope for this thread, which is just concerned with subtitles. As an aside, because of the way book text is laid out (separate independent overlays for "title" and "body" text), changing the font from what the FM author provided would tend to make a mess.
  17. Weird, I always use the bow attached aimer since it was introduced, and can't recall that crashing.
  18. I see you are trying to make subtitles system more complicated, but I don't understand what's the reason. And I prefer not to add complexity/normalization if not needed. If someone needs visual cues, he most likely needs them for all sounds. Why do you suggest adding another parameter about visual cues to subtitles definitions?

The Whisperer 100% off on GOG https://www.gog.com/en/game/the_whisperer https://www.gog.com/giveaway/claim This is one I already had from a previous giveaway, I think.
  20. Did you see the TDM main menu? The distorted frame shows after launching the game from the desktop and before the main menu displays.
  21. You don't need to update if you don't want to, and also, updating the FM could cause any savegames you have to fail. So if you are in the middle of a playthrough, I wouldn't update the FM yet
  22. I don't believe this is possible! I just tried, but the mine never get's frob-highlighted even when I am directly above it.
  23. Something like this. not sure if well done but works for me and was really easy, don't know why idSoftware never implemented it originally, seems very obvious and useful, only Quake 4 has similar ability. edit: Took a fast look at the wiki being done and saw this there... That is wrong and not what I recommended at all, if I passed the wrong idea then my bad, was not my intention. What I really said, is exactly the contrary, what i said is that I add problems using, in this case colors, defined with preprocessor macro #define in transitions, only when using definevec4 for that coupled with the $ sign did they work. But the better and widely used method by idSoftware was to input color values directly! Also #define macros aren't really "float parameters", like definevec4 or definefloat, they are exactly like C macro preprocessors like stgatilov said, just text substitution.
  24. I don't know why you need to create a new wiki template, but I just created the category GUI and added the GUI Scripting Language page to it and made category GUI a subcategory of the Editing category, so the Gui category is listed here: https://wiki.thedarkmod.com/index.php?title=Category:Editing If this was not how you wanted it, you can revert it. I have not understood yet where a template is used for. Edit: I have read a bit about wiki templates. Very interesting. https://wiki.thedarkmod.com/index.php?title=Assigning_your_Page_to_a_Category I guess you can just use one of the existing templates to build on: https://wiki.thedarkmod.com/index.php?title=Category:Templates
