Is there something wrong with the forums lately, or is it my browser? I've been having trouble formatting posts, and just now I couldn't format anything at all.
I'm using Vivaldi.
Usually I have to: select text, click bold, nothing happens, select again, click bold, then it works.
Same for other stuff, like creating spoilers, bullet points, links. Nothing works the first time.

I have no problem. I use Firefox. @Zerg Rush also uses Vivaldi. Have you tried without extensions, or in another browser?
(btw. bold, italic and underline have shortcut keys: Ctrl B, Ctrl I and Ctrl U, you could try that)

Since Aluminum directed me here ( https://forums.thedarkmod.com/index.php?/topic/9082-newbie-darkradiant-questions/page/437/#comment-475263 ) can we have unlimited renderer effects? Well, maybe not unlimited, by maybe 3-5? Thanks.

There already is a kind of sorting, sort nearest, sort decal, sort <n>. For things like windows and such, sort nearest should probably have the desirable affect, though looking through multiple translucent shaders might kill performance.

Is having multiple render effects really killing performance that badly? I don't understand. You're saying that if I have two transparent objects side-by-side, then they'll just count as two render effects, but when combined, they somehow become something much more difficult to render?
Never-the-less, unless we're talking some kind of infinite portal problem, why not let the mapper choose how much he wants to kill performance? Just warn him against putting too many effects close together.

Yeah and the wiki and moddb. It should have those links in the footer I think. Probably easy to add by an admin.
Edit: And a link to the bugtracker. I'm always searching for a post in the forum that links to that because I can't remember the url.

Howdy all, It's time for me to do another hardware upgrade, and this time I'm looking to replace my old Dell Latitude E6410, which is getting a bit long in the tooth now. Considering how you TDM folks are responsible for the awesome gaming desktop I have now (thanks guys!), I thought I might ask for recommendations/advice here again. I'm looking for something that can run TDM, Darkradiant, and especially Unity (the engine I have to use for my graduate degree). Optionally Unreal, but I'm not sure I'll be using that or not. Being able to do some next-gen gaming could potentially be nice too, but I anticipate most of that will be done on my desktop. I'd also appreciate something I can install Windows 7 on without too much fuss, since I do have an extra copy ready to go, but I might bite the bullet and bear with 10 if I absolutely have to... A machine under 4 lbs would also be ideal, since I'll have to commute with the thing a lot. MSI looks like it makes halfway decent laptops, but I've also considered Asus ROG, and had someone at work recommend the Razorblade 14 2017, 1080p. I think I may want to stay away from Alienware, since they seem pretty overpriced. Top budget is probably $1500-ish, but cheaper would be better. Thoughts?

Hi all, I am currently considering to buy a tablet, but I am not really up to date, which specs a tablet should have. I will most likely use it mainly for Netflix, reading pdfs and maybe switching to it for e-books in general (pdfs are a pain on the Kindle), and playing small games (no specific ones in mind right now), while riding the train to my girlfriend (around 5 hours ride). I would prefer the cheaper price range (around 100; definitely below 200 €) and would prefer Andoid as I have a couple of apps on my phone that I would also use on the tablet. Finally, although I know this is quite uncommon, I do not have Wi-Fi at home, so it would be nice if I could use reverse-tethering without too much trouble. Does anyone have any recommendations / advice?

Not so long ago I found what could make a pretty good profile picture and decided to try it out on these new forums. But I couldn't find a button anywhere that would let me change it. I asked on Discord and it seems Spooks also couldn't find anything anywhere. So I logged into an old alternative account and, lo and behold, that account has a button. This is on the first screen I get when I: 1) click on my account name in the top-right of the browser -> 2) click on 'profile'. Compared to my actual account: Are you also missing this button on your account? It'd be very much appreciated if that functionality could be restored to any of the affected accounts.

Yes it was in a discussion where someone was saying how unhappy they are with the way game companies grant themselves permission to do whatever they like to your PC and personal info today. I pointed out that giving up games completely is an unnecessarily overkill solution when there are free games like TDM to play.

I've used Acronis TrueImage (2010 version) for years for backup/recovery of our PCs' hard drives. I had purchased versions 2011 and 2012 when they came out, but they had a lot of bugs (the 2012 version even corrupted the hard drive of a PC that I used at work -- a very bad thing!!!). So I went back to version 2010. However, this version does not seem to like my wife's new Windows 10 PC. Can anyone recommend any current (compatible with Win 7 and Win 10) software that will create a recovery backup (including a USB and/or CD/DVD bootup option) that you use and like? Does anyone know if TrueImage 2016 is more stable than the previous versions (going back to 2011)? Thanks!

Hi guys, through the "cheats" topic I got the idea, that it would be quite useful, if there were tags for missions (the post was about removing the killing restriction in some missions to suit the prefered play style). I don't know how easy or difficult this is, but with them, it would be quite convenient to pick missions with playstyles, environment, etc one does want to use. This could also be expanded to other mission properties. I remember a discussion about climbable drains, handles on doors, that cannot be picked and other things the map author chooses for himself. That way these things would be clearer and as I said before, it is easier to choose missions with playstyles that suit oneself. What do think?

Evening Im growing tired of the lack of options provided by my so called business router (Cisco wrvs4400n), so I am considering the idea of using a seperate firewall that I can fully customize / configure to block both outgoing aswell as incoming. Is there something I can buy of the shelf, with a web interface thats noist gonna cost more than £50-100?(Of the top of my head a Sonic wall springs to mind.) Or am I better off buying one of these micro cube PC's and put a firewall porientated version of linux on it? I am not a network guru by any stretch so if I have to go down the linux/micro PC route I will need the web interface to be intuative and user friendly. ta.

Well I attempeted to effect a repair on my SteelSeries Kinzu and just made it worse, so am now using my spare Kinzu. I would like to know what mice people are using, specifically mappers who do a lot of DR work. After a lot of bug reporting with Greebo I am partly convinced that the kinzu is repsonsible for some of the issue I am having namely - drag and snapback - when I have an item selected and move it a small distance to another location in ortho and it snaps back to original location etc.shift-drag-select - when I am trying to shift-select a bunch of items and end selecting everying behind my selection and have ti hit exscape and start all over again.I think the issue with the Kinzu is a combination of the following - very light mouse that glide very easily - so when pressing the LMB its easy to move the mouse every so slightly causing a drag select.short stroke LMB action, - which gets made worse as the LMB microswitch and the finger pad wear, reducing it still further.In a previous attempt to combat the shift select issue I have been using a different k/b that has a lighter shift key, it happens less but it still happens. ta.
