Now that's the spirit! B)

Come the time of peril, did the ground gape, and did the dead rest unquiet 'gainst us. Our bands of iron and hammers of stone prevailed not, and some did doubt the Builder's plan. But the seals held strong, and the few did triumph, and the doubters were lain into the foundations of the new sanctum. -- Collected letters of the Smith-in-Exile, Civitas Approved

A Haunt would be scary if he didn't run at you when he saw you.

He stops what he's doing and stares in your direction for a few moments.

You're not sure if he saw you.

He begins to walk in your direction.

Has he spotted you?

Halfway to you, he breaks into a run.

So do you.

@Springheel

Ooh! Great work there - good asset to have around! ;-)

@Grayman

Cheers mate, not like I wanted to go to sleep now or anything lol.

I keep wondering about blind ghosts / enemies hunting you by sound, say in a horrific Hammer forge that has been gutted by fire - LOTS of noisy metal surfaces and difficulties. Just re-read "Oh Whistle and I'll Come to You my Lad":

http://gaslight.mtroyal.ca/owhistle.htm

The ghost in which seems to be some kind of pale, grasping, blind monstrosity reaching for his victim and searching by sound.

But I think it'd be too easy to sneak round enemies using sound alone, right?

This might be of use:

Awesome!

I can't wait to see that perched on a stoop or windowsill....

or at the back or a dank cave, or in an overgrown forest... :ph34r:

Damn, that just gave me the coolest idea ever for a Halloween mission. I'll have to save it up for next year. :(

Kind of reminds me of the new Enderman in Minecraft. They have a very scary behavior:

They are generally peaceful, but as soon as the player puts his crosshair on them, they freeze and start staring at the player. And when the player looks away, the enderman starts running / teleporting towards him. :)

I'm in. Maybe ...

Prebuilt content: two buildings

Damn, I wish I could create something like that someday! It looks so moody and feels so old and rotten :wub:

Myself, I always end up with clean cut, sterile corridors with no atmosphere whatsoever :angry:

Are you kidding? Trapped was a misty hell hole lit by baleful eerie ghost lights. So I think you can make something nasty and horrific when you like. =-P

... You can do it man. That's why you scrolled down this post.

You can seriously do whatever you like. After showing the last FM, I don't believe you have any limitations towards this editor. You can do whatever you imagine. Pusianka tells you that and awaits your FM with impatience ;).

      Turns out my 15th anniversary mission idea has already been done once or twice before! I've been beaten to the punch once again, but I suppose that's to be expected when there's over 170 FMs out there, eh? I'm not complaining though, I love learning new tricks and taking inspiration from past FMs. Best of luck on your own fan missions!

      I wanna play Doom 3, but fhDoom has much better features than dhewm3, yet fhDoom is old, outdated and probably not supported. Damn!
      Makes me think that TDM engine for Doom 3 itself would actually be perfect.

      Maybe a bit of advice ? In the FM series I'm preparing, the two main characters have the given names Toby and Agnes (it's the protagonist and deuteragonist, respectively), I've been toying with the idea of giving them family names as well, since many of the FM series have named protagonists who have surnames. Toby's from a family who were usually farriers, though he eventually wound up working as a cobbler (this serves as a daylight "front" for his night time thieving). Would it make sense if the man's popularly accepted family name was Farrier ? It's an existing, though less common English surname, and it directly refers to the profession practiced by his relatives. Your suggestions ?

      Looks like the "Reverse April Fools" releases were too well hidden. Darkfate still hasn't acknowledge all the new releases. Did you play any of the new April Fools missions?
