Replacing D3 Heads

Yes yours looks better; I agree it's clearly a "different person" in every respect so no claim for copying; and most importantly it gets rid of one more D3 derivative from our package. When those are all gone, then we have a much freer hand for us & other people to experiment with standalone versions to our heart's content.

Edit: The one thing I'd add is make sure the face texture also looks very different side-by-side, also like it was made from scratch (Just looking on the model it looks like it does). The "pixel overlay" strategy does not work well.

What do you see when you turn out the light? I can't tell you but I know that it's mine.

Looking good. :)

If greebo can rig the zombie to our existing skeleton, it will be feasible to replace the necessary animations...

I already rigged the low-poly model to the proguard skeleton and got him in-game, that is working very well. Though I'm not satisfied with the visuals. The legs are looking nice, but the upper body and the head are not as good as I imagined it to be (I can dig up a screenshot when I get home). I'm going to retopo a new lowpoly mesh onto him.

If you didn't mention it wasn't from scratch

Oh, it's from scratch. I just meant that I would have to start over again to try and match the original further.

Glad people like it! :)

I've been working this week on trying to replace one of the D3 heads that we will no longer be able to distribute when we go standalone.

Very impressive young man, that farmer to the far right is very realistic!

Heh.. It is a transformation from William Riker into Chuck Norris.

ROTFL, that cracked me up.

keep up the good work Greebs!

Looks real sleazy in his hat! :)

Good job. I am always impressed by you modellers, especially since I have zero knowledge about making a model.

Come the time of peril, did the ground gape, and did the dead rest unquiet 'gainst us. Our bands of iron and hammers of stone prevailed not, and some did doubt the Builder's plan. But the seals held strong, and the few did triumph, and the doubters were lain into the foundations of the new sanctum. -- Collected letters of the Smith-in-Exile, Civitas Approved

The FAQ wiki is almost a proper FAQ now. Probably need to spin-off a bunch of the "remedies" for playing older TDM versions into their own article.

Was checking out old translation packs and decided to fire up TDM 1.07. Rightful Property with sub-20 FPS areas yay! ( same areas run at 180FPS with cranked eye candy on 2.12 )

i am so euphoric to see new FMs keep coming out and I am keen to try it out in my leisure time, then suddenly my PC is spouting a couple of S.M.A.R.T errors...
tbf i cannot afford myself to miss my network emulator image file&progress, important ebooks, hyper-v checkpoint & hyper-v export and the precious thief & TDM gamesaves. Don't fall yourself into & lay your hands on crappy SSD

Does anyone actually use the Normalise button in the Surface inspector? Even after looking at the code I'm not quite sure what it's for.

Turns out my 15th anniversary mission idea has already been done once or twice before! I've been beaten to the punch once again, but I suppose that's to be expected when there's over 170 FMs out there, eh? I'm not complaining though, I love learning new tricks and taking inspiration from past FMs. Best of luck on your own fan missions!
