Business as usual in the modern gaming world. Very few games have editors.

 

Actually, the only reason there is a Thief editor was because the community asked for it, and LGS complied.

I have to admit love the architectural assets in Dishonored and would have a field day mapping with it. I thought it most of it looked beautiful, and I wish we had a lot of those assets to work with.

 

I don't like the gameplay as much as I like TDM's minimalism, and I don't like DH's cartoonishly big moveables, and I think I could make actual better maps in TDM, if only because I know DR better & it's more versatile like Sotha was saying. But I'd definitely be in favor of DH releasing an editor, and would definitely try out it's FMs if any got made.

What do you see when you turn out the light? I can't tell you but I know that it's mine.

Just a question about DarkRadiant and 2.0. I moved my darkmod folder out of the Doom 3 folder; however, when I start up DR v. 1.7.3 it tries to detect Doom 3 in the preferences menu (an operation which I cancel) and now I cannot access any textures. How do I get DarkRadiant to use only DarkMod assets?

I haven't touched TDM since 2010, but I'm elated to see this release! Great excuse to dive back in. :)

 

Is there a torrent available for 2.0 files? The updater is struggling to hit 11kb/s right now.

Edit: it actually looks like half of the mirrors are handling it well and half are handling it... not so well. fidcal.com is not happy right now. :laugh:

We don't have a torrent set up at the moment, but we may do that...I know our mirrors are being hit pretty heavy right now.

Hmm, I would be happy to mirror a tb or two, if it helps?

I think taaaki may also be able to help out with a similar size chunk, if he isn't already :)

 

Would you be able to update the list? (I go to bed in two-ish hours)

If I'm using this setup for 2.0 then I'm losing all the textures, models and entities in my map. (I changed "alberic" to my folder name where my map lies)

      i am so euphoric to see new FMs keep coming out and I am keen to try it out in my leisure time, then suddenly my PC is spouting a couple of S.M.A.R.T errors...
      tbf i cannot afford myself to miss my network emulator image file&progress, important ebooks, hyper-v checkpoint & hyper-v export and the precious thief & TDM gamesaves. Don't fall yourself into & lay your hands on crappy SSD

      Turns out my 15th anniversary mission idea has already been done once or twice before! I've been beaten to the punch once again, but I suppose that's to be expected when there's over 170 FMs out there, eh? I'm not complaining though, I love learning new tricks and taking inspiration from past FMs. Best of luck on your own fan missions!
