Reinstalled the game after resetting my PC and I forgot what I used in the in-game brightness settings, instead of sitting there trying to get the perfect lighting for the next 4 months I was wondering if you guys would be generous enough to share what you use.

Thanks

I use the default settings. However, it heavely depends on your monitor as well as your personal preferences what settings are suitable for you.

FM's: Builder Roads, Old Habits, Old Habits Rebuild
WIP's: Several. Although after playing Thief 4 I really wanna make a city mission.
Mapping and Scripting: Apples and Peaches
Sculptris Models and Tutorials: Obsttortes Models
My wiki articles: Obstipedia
Let's Map TDM YouTube playlist: ObstlerTube
Texture Blending in DR: DR ASE Blend Exporter

End of shameless self promotion.

Its the users opinion/taste/etc.

I use the standard setting for brigtness and gamma: 1.

The best way to find them back is to set it your own,

(tip: use the gamma correction room in trainingsmission.

Gamma of 1.2 should be a good starting point, I use it all the time.

I just recently calibrated myself in the training mission gamma room.
I think gamma was something 0.97 or so, but it depends on your monitor.

You should just barely see what is in the shadows.

I use Gamma 0.97 and Brightness 0.95.

I tried to calibrate according to the gamma room in the training mission but it turned out that I would need to set both settings to 0.75 to meet the instructions in the book, which pretty much distorted the look of light sources. So I'm staying on the above mentioned levels and set the ambient_world light for my first mission to rgb(6, 6, 6).

Now that I have my new monitor, which is ridiculously bright (and washed out 6-8bit panel), I have gamma and brightness at 1 and it's still slightly too bright.

I always assumed I'd taste like boot leather.

Brightness default and gamma 1.1 - 1.2 depending on the mission.
