I think Final Liberation: Warhammer Epic 40k is 100% off on GOG. The giveaway link seemed to give it to me alongside another "goodie pack". But it's shown as $6 on store page. Not sure what happened. https://www.gog.com/giveaway/claim https://www.gog.com/en/game/final_liberation_warhammer_epic_40000 Meanwhile, Warhammer 40k: Gladius - Relics of War is 100% on Steam by June 1: https://slickdeals.net/f/16674827-warhammer-40-000-gladius-relics-of-war-pc-digital-download-free-via-steam https://store.steampowered.com/app/489630/Warhammer_40000_Gladius__Relics_of_War/ On Epic Games Store, 100% off on Fallout: New Vegas - Ultimate Edition: https://store.epicgames.com/en-US/p/fallout-new-vegas--ultimate-edition

  4. So giving it none of those tags, but making the AI invisible, silent, non-solid, and on a team neutral to everyone would not work? Oh well, it was a horrible inelegant idea anyway.

  6. Again anyone who has ever used a controller is used to holding buttons to get different input and it is already supported by the TDM controller config. So I guess I am just used to doing this already from playing the game from time to time on a steam deck. If indicating the state change to players is an issue then maybe the existing frob helper could be change size/shape/color or something when a “long press” is achieved. That way players who do need the indicator can turn it off via the existing frob helper settings.
  7. Horror themed fan mission - exploration of seemingly deserted keep in the middle of swamps. Spiders, undead, darkness. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This is the story about the fate of my family. My uncle, Ralph Mac Roberts, is the baron of a keep nestled deep within the Rahenaen marshes. It was once an important outpost tasked with guarding one of the few Builder roads that cross the marsh, but after the Inventor`s Guild built a system of nearby dams that flooded the whole land, the road closed and there was no longer anything to watch over anymore. The keep itself needed reinforcement against the raising water level and the trade routes become almost impassable, not only for the carriages but for lone couriers as well. There hadn`t been any messages coming from the keep for over a year and my father was about to assemble a caravan so he could go on an expedition to the keep himself. However, in the middle of the night before he was set to leave, a carrier pigeon landed on his windowsill. My father received the letter and read the apologies from my uncle and his family, excusing their long absence. As a way to make reparations for their extended silence, my uncle invited me to the keep to stay there for a fortnight or so. My uncle had instructed me to leave my horse three leagues away from the keep by the nearest charcoal burning hut and hike the remainder of the road on foot, as the trek through the marsh is treacherous for horses. The weather will be awful this time of year, but my father insists that I should go anyways to ensure that our relatives are okay. These plains become dreadfully deserted - to the point where you more expect to meet the dead than the living. And by the way - I think I`m lost. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Download link: https://1drv.ms/u/s!Aj1DVS465udZgVkXteBbr6cUxdPH Thanks: to the TDM team for great tools, and all the contributors for their assets, to betatesters: Amadeus, Bienie, Boiler's_hiss, Dragofer, Filizitas, Judith, nbohr1more, s.urfer, again to Amadeus for proofreading and text tweaks, and to all the players for their time! 8. Could you get back to @Bikerdude on steam? He could use some guidance with rotation hack in the shadowhide map

  9. for the most part it is indeed only the commands that differ some are even the same as on DOS with maybe a few differences like echo then there are some that we also had in dos like rm=remove cp=copy the unix variants have more options but besides that the functionality is mostly the same dir in unix is called ls though. where linux can still be a bit hard for the uninvited is when it comes to drivers, linux has nothing with the functionality of the device manager from windows and making one is allmost impossible due to how things work in a unix environment. you can get something that shows you installed devices but it does not allow you to change driver parameters or for that matter the driver, you still need to do that with commands. sure back in the DOS days we mostly had to do the same (setting IRQ's DMA etc.) but the commands used were quite a bit simpler as well. where linux would truely shine would be in something with a predetermined hardware set (like a steam deck or steam box) for a gamer atleast, my guess is that is why they decided it would be a good project. also unix is quite a bit more secure by default than windows, thats not to say you cant get an infection but it is usually not fatal. also the sheer amount of programs you can get many of which have the same functionality but rely on certain OS gui features (OpenBOX MIR or other variants of the X WIndow system) which not allways play well with the choosen variant you decide to use. In essence it has become a mess and while it is great for those who like as many choices as possible it does have its pitfalls.

  11. It wasn't a "sacrifice", it was a deliberate decision. People wanted the game to be as close as possible to the original, including pixelated graphics. If you ask me, the former version based on the Unity engine looked and felt better. But, hey... I guess I'm not the right person to judge that, as I never played the original, and always found that the art style of System Shock 2 is much better anyway. This also illustrates the issue with community funded games: Too many cooks spoil the broth. In game design, you need freedom, not thousands of people who want you to do this and this and that. Just take a look at the Steam forums and see how all those wimps complain again about everything. Hopeless.
  12. Not so long ago I found what could make a pretty good profile picture and decided to try it out on these new forums. But I couldn't find a button anywhere that would let me change it. I asked on Discord and it seems Spooks also couldn't find anything anywhere. So I logged into an old alternative account and, lo and behold, that account has a button. This is on the first screen I get when I: 1) click on my account name in the top-right of the browser -> 2) click on 'profile'. Compared to my actual account: Are you also missing this button on your account? It'd be very much appreciated if that functionality could be restored to any of the affected accounts.

IDK about GOG, but my understanding is that Epic Games Store is not profitable, and isn't expected to be before 2027. https://www.pcgamer.com/epic-has-sunk-dollar500m-into-the-epic-games-store-doesnt-expect-to-make-a-profit-until-2027/ But they have made so much money from Fortnite that they can afford to take the hits in order to establish themselves as at least the industry's #2 behind Steam. I find GOG to be the most "trustworthy" platform with some exceptions, and Steam to be the most interesting/useful with their huge support for Linux gaming via Proton/WINE contributions and the Steam Deck.
  14. Thanks for the replies, gonna try those spoiler Tags again now for my short review (oh well it inserted one above my text now and I can't seem to delete it on mobile - this text editor is strange)
  15. Just finished this mission and wow I gotta say in great honor to Grayman and of course the rest of the team picking it up, this was something I've never seen before in any other TDM mission, especially visually wise. I am so happy that grayson gave green light for other experienced mappers to finish his last mission. And what came out of this is really something special. I'll put my review in spoiler tags since I'm now referring to critical mission details. Edit - How do I put spoiler text here on mobile?? 16. Public release v1.7.6 (with Dark Mod support) is out. Improvements since the final beta 14 are: Fixed a few remaining bugs with zip/pk4 support. Game Versions window now properly displays TDM version. Import window no longer has a vestigial off-screen TDM field (because TDM doesn't need or support importing). Web search option is now disabled if an unknown/unsupported FM is selected. If an FM with an unknown or unsupported game type is selected, the messages in the tab area now no longer refer to Thief 3 ("Mod management is not supported for Thief: Deadly Shadows"). The full changelog can be viewed at the release link. The de facto official AngelLoader thread is here: https://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=149706 Bug reports, feature requests etc. are usually posted there. I'll continue following this thread though. Thanks everyone and enjoy!
  17. A couple of weeks ago my Steam Link and Steam Controller finally arrived, so I thought I would have a go at getting TDM to work. It turns out it works great. Here is how to do it for anyone who is interested: 1. Add TDM to your Steam library as a non-Steam game (use the Games menu, then point to the .exe file in the TDM directory). 2. Stream TDM to your TV as normal using the Steam Link like you would any other game. 3. Configure the Steam Controller, using the keyboard and mouse template as a starting point. Unfortunately, as TDM is not a Steam game, it doesn't seem to be possible to share Steam Controller configurations over Steam, which is a shame. However, by tinkering around I've come up with the following configuration which works really well: Left trigger: Parry/manipulate (Mouse 3) (NB. Left trigger is also used as mode-shift for left pad and X/Y/A/B buttons - see below) Right trigger: Attack (Mouse 1) Left bumper: Previous weapon (Mouse wheel up) Right bumper: Next weapon (Mouse wheel down) Left grip: Previous inventory ([) Right grip: Next inventory (]) Left pad: Set to function as a button pad. Up: lockpicks (p) / down: drop item ® / left: objectives (o) / right: lantern (l) Left pad: Mode shift on depressing left trigger, still functioning as a button pad. Up: Looking glass (g) / down: health potion (h) / left: lean left (q) / right: lean right (e) Select: Map (m) Start: Menu (escape) Right pad: Set to function as mouse. Click: frob (Mouse 2) Stick: Set as direcitonal pad with additional settings to enable transcription of analogue input to digital game input as follows. Enable overlap direction (allows diagonal movement). Bind click to sprint (left shift). In advanced options, enable the outer ring, set the ring at about 75%, then enable the invert outer ring option. Bind outer ring to creep (left control). What this does is allow you to use the stick for all forms of movement in an intuitive fashion. Moving the stick between the deadzone at the centre and the 75% outer ring will cause you to creep around slowly. As soon as you push the stick beyond the 75% outer ring, you walk at normal speed. And then you can sprint while in the outer ring by clicking the stick. Buttons: X: Hide weapons (`) / Y: Jump/mantle (space) / A: use (enter) / B: crouch © Buttons: Mode shift on depressing left trigger, still functioning as a button pad. Y: quickload (F9) / A: quicksave (F4) There are still a couple of unbound buttons (mode shift X and Y) if you wanted to add further controls, but I thought it best not to have anything else near the quicksave/quickload buttons to avoid unfortunate accidents. You can even use the Steam Controller to do a manual save by going into the menus (using the right pad and right trigger to click, and then any of the various mapped buttons to produce stupid file names). Works great and looks absolutely fabulous on my 42" Sony TV - particularly the shadows and dark areas, where the better quality of blacks on the TV really enhances the ambience. I was initially streaming over a 100Mbs network, which was worked just fine. I'm now on 1Gb with Cat6E cables following a general network upgrade and can't say I've noticed any material difference in performance of the streaming.
  18. Okay, I had no idea, I have googled it up now and you are right, to my own surprise. Done, I´ve put some paragraphs which were previously not in spoiler tags into spoilers.
  19. Thebigh is right. The pronunciation tripped me up too, but that is apparently how Leicester is pronounced. Also @TarhielI'm glad you are loving the FM but do you mind putting spoiler tags on your post please
  20. Good work! I enjoy short missions because things are nice and focused - you get in, you get out. Also I tend to do better with the loot amounts and I was able to get all the loot without too much trouble, which is rare for me. If I were to make a suggestion though - I found the intro briefing sequence a bit distracting because it was so obvious the narration was pitch-shifted to make a deeper voice. If you felt the original voice wasn't deep enough for your needs, I would either get someone on the forums to record it for you or just leave as is. That's my only real complaint and it's not even about the mission itself, so pretty good first start!

100% off on Steam Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep: A Wonderlands One-Shot Adventure Ends March 23 Contains spoilers for Borderlands 2 according to review https://slickdeals.net/f/16517017-tiny-tina-s-assault-on-dragon-keep-a-wonderlands-one-shot-adventure-free-on-steam https://store.steampowered.com/app/1712840/Tiny_Tinas_Assault_on_Dragon_Keep_A_Wonderlands_Oneshot_Adventure/
  22. We will look at some of this stuff, but SPOILER tags, please!!!
  23. This may make sense in that the performance impact of the volumetric effect can scale with how much of the effect is filling the screen. We shipped with a “performance mode” but had to setup the entities by hand to do it (so it’s not perfect). If you change the LOD detail settings to “Low” or “Lowest” this will disable certain lights, particles and such that can be very heavy to render. You can try these settings and see if you notice an improvement. If not sending us some pictures of heavy areas (with spoiler tags please) will be helpful with tuning these “performance modes” in subsequent patches. Thanks for playing!
  24. While we wait to see TDM in Steam, there are ways to promote TDM in Steam in the mean time, to your fellow Steam-gamers. Like adding non-steam shortcuts in Steam to TDM, its updater and editor. (or creating a Steam skin) When you are online and play or run the game/applications, theoretically your friends wil see that your playing the game or running the updater/Dark-radiant. For the unexperienced users, I am working on a feature for the TDM installer, to start the shortcut-adding procedure in an easy way. (they need to select the executables and add the banner themselves.) But you can do this yourself by: Adding Non-Steam shortcut: start steam > game library > "add a game" > check tdm executables (or browse for them). (change its name, if needed: game library > right-click game > properties)And then adding banner to shortcut: library > click on the 4-tiles icon on right side of the window > right click on game > set image. What do you think about this idea?
  25. Hi, I need to know what the code is to use Spoiler Tags. I am using my tablet and I don't have the options to use anything, like spoiler tags, quote tags, text changes etc. Thanks
