  1. This happens every time I try and load a save. I didn't mess with any files, I have no mods installed. It just sorta started to happen. Don't really have any other details. Anyone have a clue
  2. I don't wanna sound lazy or spoiled by asking this question: I enjoy mapping, and DarkRadiant helps in not making the process all that hard! At the same time though, it is a lengthy and straining process, so I figure knowing this wouldn't hurt either. After all, scripts and prefabs and other contributions are shared throughout the community, so why not map chunks? But yeah: My question was whether any TDM contributors also publish any complete large structures for other mappers to use. By this I mean full buildings (with interiors), playable base landscapes, maybe even whole towns! I'm thinking of generic area templates that mappers can easily add characters to for their story, in case someone doesn't want to create their map from scratch. For instance, a whole town map with all roads and buildings laid out, entities for paths and doors and all other things, just no objectives or stories or characters as you add those yourself. Another problem is that if people abuse such templates, too many missions will end up looking the sane, which would of course get easily boring. This might be helped if perhaps just important pieces could be offered as prefabs... for instance various types of complete buildings, but it's still the player who makes the roads and places each one in each spot. Has anyone ever made and posted such a thing, and what do you think of the idea? This isn't a request thread mind you, unless merely bringing this up inspires anyone to do it... I'm only asking if anyone else's thought of this before. The reason I think it's a fun thought is that some missions have a few really nice areas, which are definitely created by talented mappers... therefore I wonder if bits of maps could be shared in a way that makes them easy to combine with one another, so that other missions can reuse good parts if of course their authors want that.
  3. I hope you don't me mind asking but where I can download all maps? If you could pass me a url to scrape download URLs from, that would be appreciated. I assume maps are on cdns/mirros, so will around there first

  6. I heard people say that some of the tracks featured in TDM are picked up by YouTube's Content ID system. Are these videos blocked anywhere (like Germany) as a result? The reason I'm asking is I'm going to upload playthroughs of certain TDM Fan Missions soon.

I suppose making a campaign as an individual and building for Thief Gold go hand & hand. You need to be pretty obsessed to do either. XD

  10. Hey, I have a heap of maps in GTK Radiant format, and I was wondering if there was a way to extract the brushwork into Dark Radiant? Does anyone know any way at all to do this? Thanks Neon formerly Venus
  11. I'm wondering if anyone ever checks new posts in the Fan Missions Forums? I've posted 4 questions asking for help for 4 different missions that I can't finish because I"m stuck, and I don't get any help. I posted a question this morning so I don't expect an answer right away for that one. Its frustrating because I would like to finish them. I've read through the posts for each mission and I'm not getting anything from them. If there's someone who could help me I'd really appreciate it. Thanks I guess I'm spoiled from the TTLG forums.

Hi all, me again Now that I've learned how to take screenies on DM (thanks to Aluminumhaste) I wanted to post one that I took but I got an error saying that the image ext that I used was not allowed in these forums, It was .jpg so I changed it to .png and I got the same error again. They're on Photobucket.

Interesting, quite high sound loss values there.

NB there's a bug with sound loss that causes sound card pops in a complex enough map. It'll be fixed soon in 2.04

  15. Hi! My name is TanikasMisadventures I dont know if this is a right place to post this but I have done some gameplay on The Dark Mod, I find this game facinating to play (cept i suck when recording) There are different areas to explore at every turn and different stuff in each map, The guards are actually smart and need i go on? I have so much fun with this game Anyway back to the gameplay, all im asking for is comment on what i could do better, so i can better myself as a live commentator as i don't have much skill there and what i could do better if i would do more dark mod videos, i have filmed more but i don't want to put them up on YouTube as i feel they aren't worthy Heres the playlist: Thanks for reading if you did, im not trying to advertise myself, i just want comment to be better at it -Tanika

Yeah YouTube's copyright system could do with a massive overhaul. I always see videos about regulars on YT complaining about improper claims.

Even though I can't run it it's always great to see games with good movement systems get custom levels.

  19. Do you know if it's possible to have 2 normal maps per surface (material) ? For example, I want to have a large rock with one normal map defining general shape details (non-tiling, fits the model) and second normal map defining smaller details, tiling over the surface. I recall there was something like adding normal maps or adding normal and heightmap in Doom 3, but I am not sure how (if possible at all) to make one texture just fit the model as if it was just a regular func_static with regular material, and have "detail" normal map being added to the original one, but having it tiling, as if it was like a wall textures. Thanks.
