This song desperately needs a live cover... The melody is just too great, but the sampled sax doesn't quite do it justice. I love the piano, drum, and chord sounds though, they're perfect.

RIP Chris Cornell.

Outrun, Synthwave, Retro Nu-Wave, whatever you call it... It's a fascinating new trend:

No real 80's pop-music ever sounded quite like it. It's a hybrid of 80's synth-pop and music you would

hear in 80's movies or TV Show intros. A wonderful caricature of the sounds of the decade.

I recently recorded a tune that me and my friend wrote over 10 years ago. I've been learning drums since December. It took me many attempts to get it somewhat right.

Yet another great album of one of my favourite bands Anaal Nathrakh has been released. The title refers to the 100th anniversary of the end of World War I as this album mainly deals with that, and how less mankind seems to have learned from it. A dark one, but also an awesome one (for those who like this kind of music).

"I really perceive that vanity about which most men merely prate — the vanity of the human or temporal life. I live continually in a reverie of the future. I have no faith in human perfectibility. I think that human exertion will have no appreciable effect upon humanity. Man is now only more active — not more happy — nor more wise, than he was 6000 years ago. The result will never vary — and to suppose that it will, is to suppose that the foregone man has lived in vain — that the foregone time is but the rudiment of the future — that the myriads who have perished have not been upon equal footing with ourselves — nor are we with our posterity. I cannot agree to lose sight of man the individual, in man the mass."

- 2 July 1844 letter to James Russell Lowell from Edgar Allan Poe.

...and this happens when King Crimson's then main song writer decided to create a successor to the Beatles song "I am the walrus":

Album title was "Thrak" and was published ca. 1996 (as far as I recall).

GREAT song. It sounds like there is a sample from a numbers station in there. Youtube does harm the quality of the original though because of compression, especially in the highs (as compression usually does).

Song captures night time perfectly. Not just the opening, the whole thing.

I posted about it before, but I think the default tdm logo video looks outdated. For a (i.m.o.) better looking version, you can download the pk4 attached to this post and plonk it in your tdm root folder. Every mission that starts with the tdm logo then starts with the better looking one. Try for example mission COS1 Pearls and Swine.

I finished DOOM - The Dark Ages the other day. It is a decent shooter, but not as great as its predecessors, especially because of the soundtrack.
