Impressive! Congratulations on your first mission - even if relatively short, it was solidly executed and packed with a surprising amount of good stuff. The rain effects are to die for (ripples? rain on glass? wow!), and the details, while not overwrought, are just neat. It is a believable, well-grounded story and setting. I expect very good things from the sequels - and may we see them soon enough!

I also got a stealth core of one (1), which is much better than I usually do. :)

Come the time of peril, did the ground gape, and did the dead rest unquiet 'gainst us. Our bands of iron and hammers of stone prevailed not, and some did doubt the Builder's plan. But the seals held strong, and the few did triumph, and the doubters were lain into the foundations of the new sanctum. -- Collected letters of the Smith-in-Exile, Civitas Approved

A truly excellent first mission

Completed on the hardest setting with only 70 loot missed and all objectives achieved

The hardest part was at the start working out how to get into the mansion without being seen - that took several reloads before I sorted it out

Once inside it was relatively straight forward but I did need to listen at the doors before opening them to avoid getting caught

I didn't use any of the arrows

Congrats guys, can't wait to try it!

Just wanted to point out:

Create a folder in your “\darkmod\fms\” directory called “anh” and place the file below anh.pk4 inside.

It is not necessary to create a folder. Just put the pk4 file in the fms\ directory. When you start TDM and go to New Missions, it will detect a new mission and create all the proper folders and move the pk4 inside.

Bikerdude, is there any TDM mission out there where you didn't at lease take some part in creating? ;)

My Eigenvalue is bigger than your Eigenvalue.

Hope it's ok, but i recreated a partial copy of the announcement on TTLG and linked it to this thread.

Of course that's no problem :)

I have updated the first post to add that it's now available in the in-game downloader and I've updated the manual installation instructions.

Thanks for uploading to the official mirrors Bikerdude.

I'm glad you're all enjoying the first mission of the accountant series everyone :)

So sad ...

Can't figure out how to get into the house.

Once you leave the sewers head upto the gate on the street, straight ahead you will see three doors in the courtyard, it's the middle door. You just have to pick lock the door and make sure you don't get seen :)

I tried that 4 times and was easily spotted each time, so I figured that was not the way in.

Will continue trying tomorrow.

I just did a play through on the difficult setting and getting through the door is tough however you basically just have to watch for when the handle stops.. half-way through it does look like the handle stopped but it keeps going.

I gave enough time so that if you get to the door right as the guard places his back against it you should have enough time for 3-5 attempts at lock picking it.

Perhaps in a future revision I will add a key to the guards belt to help with the difficulty :)

I really wish you guys would upload these files to a decent file hosting services like drop box or Google drive. These zippy (lol) servers are horrendously slow, getting 42KB/s, no down to 20 KB/s.

It's also available in the in-game downloader. I tend to get 4-5 mb/s on zippyshare so I don't know whats going on there!

edit: yeah I just tried to download from that link and I got 4.3 mb/s the whole way

Don't add key to guard - hardcore must be hardcore %) Else have 3-4 reloads while can say "Inside at last" %)

It's maybe moment, that I like to only listen for the lockpicking and there is rain, that really make hard to concentrate on lock sound ))

Nice short ~20-30min mission. Visuals were great. Storytelling was there and adequate. I liked the Garrett reference by the fence.

Where it falls short is I guess the mansion was really small and more of just a larger than average house, and there was only one point of entry. I didn't have any problems opening that way and getting in without being spotted but that being the only way was a bit disappointing. Guard patrols were the strength of the mission, well done and I liked that you set them up to notice certain doors were open and investigate. Every objective or key or well-hidden loot or whatnot was hinted at with the exception of the non-loot value objective itself which stumped me for a couple minutes because I didn't keep it simple and am used to authors (usually for T2) hiding switches for that kind of thing in overly hard to spot places. I laughed when I found it because I had been looking in all sorts of more elaborate hiding places for it.

Interesting that there is an alternative method of getting into the house as I didn't try any of the doors in the street but

went straight through the main gate and front door

It just needed careful timing

I wonder if the alternative way is where the loot I didn't get is - must go back and check

I moved from Manjaro Linux (rolling release) to Linux Mint (LTS). One of the reasons was that I found the updates a bit too often and long. But now on Mint I get updates every day, although they're usually small updates.

I'd like to track my level design progress a bit more often now, so I'm using the feed in my profile here.
I've been working intensively on Springheel's YouTube course over the past few days. I'm currently up to lesson 8. There is so much information that needs to be processed and practiced.
I have started to create my own house. As I don't have the imagination to create a good floor plan, I grabbed a floor plan generator from Watabou and experimented with it. I chose a floor plan that I will modify slightly, but at least I now have an initial idea.
I used two guards as a measuring tape: The rooms are two guards high. It turned out that I can simply double the number of boxes in DarkRadiant in grid size 8 that are drawn in the floor plan.
I practiced the simplest things on the floor plan first. Drawing walls, cutting walls, inserting doors, cutting out frames, creating VisPortals, furnishing rooms.
I have had my first success in creating a book. Creating a book was easier than I thought. I have a few ideas with books. The level I'm creating will be more or less a chill level, just for me, where I'll try out a few things. I don't have an idea for my own mission yet. I want to start small first.
For the cellar, I wanted to have a second entrance, which should be on the outside. I'm fascinated by these basement doors from the USA, I think they're called Bilco basement doors. They are very unusual in Germany, but this type of access is sometimes used for deliveries to restaurants etc., where barrels can be rolled or lifted into the cellar.
I used two Hatch Doors, but they got completely disoriented after turning. I have since got them reasonably tamed. It's not perfect, but it's acceptable.
In the cellar today I experimented with a trap door that leads to a shaft system. The rooms aren't practically finished yet, but I want to continue working on the floor plan for now. I'll be starting on the upper floor very soon.

On a lighter note, thanks to my cat-like reflexes, my superior puzzle skills and my perfect memory, I was able to beat the remastered version of "Tomb Raider: The Last Revelation" in a new superhuman record time of 23 h : 35 m, worship me!
