Would you shoot water arrows at lamps like these?

These lamps have oil flames encased all around in glass except for small openings in the top. My question to TDM players is:

Would you expect a water arrow that hits the glass to douse the flame inside? Would you aim for the top? Or would you try to hit something above the lamp so that the water can fall down into the opening?

For a lamp like this I would assume it would need to be frobbed in order to turn it on/off, as the glass casing seems too closed to let water in. This coming from someone who knows about shooting water arrows above lights and letting the dropping water douse them.

Thief 3 allowed something like this.

Do not know how realistic it is.

"I really perceive that vanity about which most men merely prate — the vanity of the human or temporal life. I live continually in a reverie of the future. I have no faith in human perfectibility. I think that human exertion will have no appreciable effect upon humanity. Man is now only more active — not more happy — nor more wise, than he was 6000 years ago. The result will never vary — and to suppose that it will, is to suppose that the foregone man has lived in vain — that the foregone time is but the rudiment of the future — that the myriads who have perished have not been upon equal footing with ourselves — nor are we with our posterity. I cannot agree to lose sight of man the individual, in man the mass."...

We have lamps like this already and they're switchable, not extinguishable by water.

Who says the transparent part is glass ? this is an alternative universe which while broadly similar could have some other translucent/transparent material that doesn't shatter on impact, Star Trek has transparent aluminium, maybe it's made of that

Technically, most of the food in TDM is made of cloth.

Some things I'm repeatedly thinking about...

- louder scream when you're dying

Alright, this looks clearly in favour of the frob + insensitive to water approach. Possibly with the exception of moveable glass lamps in case the player decides to throw one into water.

Other glass lamps don't shatter when they get hit so I think these shouldn't shatter either, to keep gameplay consistent.

Was checking out old translation packs and decided to fire up TDM 1.07. Rightful Property with sub-20 FPS areas yay! ( same areas run at 180FPS with cranked eye candy on 2.12 )

i am so euphoric to see new FMs keep coming out and I am keen to try it out in my leisure time, then suddenly my PC is spouting a couple of S.M.A.R.T errors...
tbf i cannot afford myself to miss my network emulator image file&progress, important ebooks, hyper-v checkpoint & hyper-v export and the precious thief & TDM gamesaves. Don't fall yourself into & lay your hands on crappy SSD

Does anyone actually use the Normalise button in the Surface inspector? Even after looking at the code I'm not quite sure what it's for.

Turns out my 15th anniversary mission idea has already been done once or twice before! I've been beaten to the punch once again, but I suppose that's to be expected when there's over 170 FMs out there, eh? I'm not complaining though, I love learning new tricks and taking inspiration from past FMs. Best of luck on your own fan missions!

I wanna play Doom 3, but fhDoom has much better features than dhewm3, yet fhDoom is old, outdated and probably not supported. Damn!
Makes me think that TDM engine for Doom 3 itself would actually be perfect.
