The Dark Mod version 2.11?

I think we were planning a Winter release ( Jan \ Feb ) but I don't recall seeing a hard target yet. Lots of things planned but some of the main contributors have been unavailable to work on them.

@nbohr1more, are you using Google Translate? It’s too difficult to understand what you mean. Maybe write your messages in Dutch and translate them to English?

Old, stable and new unstable builds can be downloaded, by using the TDM Installer.

Would it be possible to get some kind of funding for Dark mod 3.0? Maybe via Epic games grants, Kickstarter or somehow else ?

Depending on goals for 3.0, how many contributors would be needed?

I didn't wonder about it for a second!  But an amusing troll. 

I was hoping that his "item_respawn.ini" script, recoded as a .dll, would be workable so I could download it and use it in my WIP.  I'd like to use it on keys, which my WIP should have a shitload of.  I could set a random item respawn time on the keys, have the keys respawn in random and difficult to find places, and target the doors to relock when the keys are respawned!

Would have to know whether he's most fluent in Sindarin, Quenya or Beleriand - it's pretty hard to get any clear response from him, though.

Hiring developers is very expensive (see i.e. the recent Kurshok thread A Question Regarding Paying Others for Mod Remakes). Good thing everyone involved with developing TDM and making FMs does it as a passion project.

      Hey @nbohr1morehow come the zombies in The Dark Mod don't have a "resurrection" mechanic to it, similar to how Thief has it?
      They're quite a weak creature as of right now, it's merely a walking corpse that slashes you, making attacking them to kill them an actual strategy.
      Would be better if they had some cool mechanism to it that truly makes them a danger, such as the resurrection idea itself.

      Query: when was the last time a zombie in a video game was unnerving or scary to you? I'm chipping away at my anniversary submission and I've been trying to gather opinions on the subject. I'm perfectly capable of lighting them well, changing their sfx, and creating effective ambience, but I'm worried that zombies at their core are just too overdone to be an effective payoff to the tension I'm creating.

      Has anyone had any luck with textures from Polyhaven? Their OpenEXR normal maps seem too washed out and give incorrect shading in the engine.

      I tried to upscale the TDM logo video. First try:

      briefing_video.mp4 You can test it ingame by making a copy of the core tdm_gui.mtr and place it in your-tdm-root/materials/ , then edit line 249 of that file into the location where you placed the new briefing.mp4 file.
      What I did was I extracted all the image files, then used Upscayl to upscale the images using General photo (Real-Esrgan) upscale setting and then turn it back into a video.
      I might have to crop it a bit, the logo looks smaller on screen (or maybe it's actually better this way?). My video editor turned it into a 16:9 video, which I think overal looks better than 1:1 video of original.
