Well, if any modeller would care to step forward... I only started looking at thermometers because I was thinking about how one could be implemented in the material system, using a shaderparm to control the level. I was thinking of adding them to mundane places like forges and cold rooms.

Also, I thought it might be a nice touch to use one of the various historical temperature scales that's unfamiliar to modern people, like Delisle or Wedgwood.

Some things I'm repeatedly thinking about...

Across Europe and America, elaborate, eye-catching leech jars took over window displays of most respectable pharmacies. These ridiculously rococo ceramic jars sported gilt and hand-painted decorative flourishes, in sharp contrast to their monochromatic inhabitants.

Alternatively, ask the Inventors' Guild about an artificial leech: http://www.medicineatmichigan.org/history/2016/spring/artificial-leech

It's truly a shame what happened to Notre Dame, but at least a lot of it is still intact. Like you, I also had the same thoughts of "mapping fuel" when I saw the pictures of the aftermath

Some (remarkably long-enduring) black market history:

The market operated under the ancient law of marché ouvert, or “open market,” a medieval French legal concept that allowed for the open sale of stolen goods between the sunset and sunrise in designated markets in a city.

The idea was that if you were robbed and you didn’t check to see whether your stolen property was being sold in a local market, then you weren’t taking reasonable steps to recover it.

Surprisingly, Bermondsey Market operated under this law until 1995... The loophole has since been abolished.

Inside of the church I used to attend as a kid. Replace the giant crucifix with a hammer and bam. The use of natural light behind the giant statue which is essentially a main support upon which all the lines converged always pleased my eye growing up. Seen it during midnight mass and it screamed Thief to me. One day when Im proficient with DR Ill try to recreate it.

You think that modeling and animation are hard to learn? Wrong! This guy gets it.

Easy!

of course if you're going to buy everything. this is also only for people in background of movie, having truly immersive character in videogame can be alot more deifficult

Ah, then you'd likely get good use out of this interior image that I was reminded of just now.

Regarding the outdoors, we have very good nature assets nowadays, as discussed on Discord. Dram already showed what can be achieved with them just by arranging and lighting them well: http://forums.thedarkmod.com/index.php?/topic/10003-so-what-are-you-working-on-right-now/&do=findComment&comment=420282

Another good inspiration for nature landscaping would be Bikerdude's Caduceus of St Alban.

*Make that St. Alberic's Curse actually, Caduceus isn't what I was thinking of. Caduceus takes place in a monastery, don't remember how the scenery is there.

I posted about it before, but I think the default tdm logo video looks outdated. For a (i.m.o.) better looking version, you can download the pk4 attached to this post and plonk it in your tdm root folder. Every mission that starts with the tdm logo then starts with the better looking one. Try for example mission COS1 Pearls and Swine.

I finished DOOM - The Dark Ages the other day. It is a decent shooter, but not as great as its predecessors, especially because of the soundtrack.
