  1. Pretty odd - orbweaver's account no longer exists on Github. Any idea what's happening?
  2. I have argued that the 2.10/2.11 implementations have field widths that are way too wide, unpopular with most subtitling orgs, and conflicting with TDM's corner inventory and weapon icons. So breaking backward compatibility now would be a good thing, before it's too late and too many FMs are subtitled targeting wide fields. But I can only suggest, and continue to make my bark subtitles fit in a less-wide field, taking into account sentence and phrasing breaks. Future automated text conversion update tools could be helpful.
  3. That moment you log into TDM forums and suddenly feel nostalgic...

Protip: if you never log off and stay for ever, there is no nostalgia when you visit.

Haha yeah, I feel like that from time to time. Good to see you around.

  4. I just found this thread on ttlg listing Immersive Sims: https://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=151176
  5. Is aspect ratio taken into account, or is it simply stretched? If it is currently stretched, is it technically possible to implement aspect ratio correction on subtitles based on screen aspect ratio / resolution set?
  6. Recently revisiting the forums after a longer period of time I wanted to check the unread content. I don't know if I am doing this wrong since.. ever... but on mobile (visiting the unread content page on my smartphone) you have to click on that tiny speech bubble to go to the most recent post in a thread. If you don't click correctly you'll hit the headline and end up at post 1 in the beginning of the thread. It's terrible on mobile, since not only the speech bubble is really small and was to miss. But also the thread headline is just millimeters away from it so you go right to the first post that was ever made instead of the most recent ones. Am I doing it wrong? I just want to go through u read content a d the to the newest post from that topic.
  7. A@datiswous Ah yeah, well sorry, I was quiet busy and only visiting discord. First time here on the forums since months now I think.. Thank you for the subtitles. I encourage everyone who is interested in using them to download it from here as I'm not sure when I'll be able to implement them myself into the mission. Again, thank you for your work.
  8. Anyway I tried and you can't ghost it. I ghosted through to the manor with no KOs except for the obligatory KO of the bad guy and dealing with the necromorphs, which I think is fair enough, but I couldn't ghost the one room, the accounts room in the manor. This's because the FM wasn't made with ghosting in mind (or with no KOing in mind either). And the AI have an incredibly acute sense of the slightest sound which they can differentiate into good/bad guys. Which is OK, I wouldn't want to change that - but it has to be taken into account when building an FM that allows for ghosting. You can't shoot out a candle next to them. You can't shoot a rope arrow anywhere near them. So it was slow and frustrating and not fun even to get as far as I did and I don't think a ghosting aficionado would like it either. I did learn something about ghosting and will take that into account in my next FM, if I ever complete another one - because in an FM made to allow for it the mode could be very fun. If a player doesn't like a large mission, and/or disallows the use of keys, and/or requires a FM to be ghostable, this FM wasn't made to fit those specs. That's just the way it is. This FM is made for KOing enemies, doing well by friends, picking up loot and hopefully getting immersed in the atmosphere/story.
  9. I've been using the FBX to LWO converter on my current project. I only noticed it because it was in Greebo's Github account and I happened to need it at the time. It's pretty straightforward to use: https://github.com/codereader/FbxToLwo I didn't know it was integrated into DR . I guess that's the File -> Import/Convert Model option?

I've found it difficult to find where TDM is listed as #1 on Greenlight. This page ( https://steamcommunity.com/greenlight/ ) has no ranked listing. This one ( https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=858048394 ) has no visible rank or stats page. Is it my script blocker?

  10. While good publicity is always a good thing, that does not appear to be an account officially associated with id in any way. It's just a fan account run by an individual.
  11. Are forum account names permanent? If I wanted to alter mine, how would I go about this - provided it is even possible?

Toni, in that particular case I changed it from threelettersyndrom to 161803398874989. Very different.

  12. To add to this, the wall safe version without the combination lock (safe03_wall.pfbx) has some issues as well. If you place it in your map and then rotate it 180 degrees, when you unlock the safe the clasps around the lock both shoot out to the right. Now, normally when this kind of thing happens with prefabs, you just go and tweak the 'translate' spawnargs to correct for the rotation. However the values for the clasps are only '-2 0 0' and '2 0 0', so only 2 units in opposite directions. That doesn't account for them shooting off what looks like about 32 units in the same direction (see screenshot). So, there's a couple of nice looking prefabs added here for 2.11 but it appears they are both unusable either due to bugs or lack of some knowledge. Who knows about these? @Dragofermaybe?

  14. I think it is a good idea! Our ingame mission downloader and mission view has long been subject of multiple improvement suggestions. Due to the sheer mass of missions that have been released in the last 15 years, things got really cluttered and especially newcomers will have a hard time finding what they want. However, improving the ingame guis is quite a task, so a web-based application might really suit this scenario well. Maybe we could even add a linke to it from our ingame menus, so user can access it quicker. Some more things to think about Would users be able to add custom tags and downvote / upvote certain tags, much like the system of Steam? This would also allow to add tags like "beautiful", or "difficult". Actually, the more users can contribute to this system, the better, because it will be automatically maintained then. The browser should also contain a flag for whether the FM belongs to a connected series of FMs or not and have the capability to go to the previous or next FM in that series. There should also be a flag for fully fledges campaigns. Some might like a flag whether or not an FM is "ghostable".
  15. Yes, it does. Which makes it interesting that you yourself explicitly said that it's interesting nobody had complained here on the official forums: I did, which is why it stood out to me so much that even though you yourself had personally been involved you would reply claiming nobody had complained here on the official forums. I'm not colorblind at all. Does that make people pointing out that almost no modern games have proper colorblindness support hyperbole? Just because it doesn't affect you, or you choose not to pay attention to the discussion of something, doesn't make it hyperbole. Pick pretty much any modern FPS and you will find plenty of discussion about the near universal disregard for FOV and camera movement as accessibility issues. Denigrating those as hyperbole because you personally don't feel the affects is as bad of a look as demeaning people who bring up the importance of valid allergen warnings like gluten or colorblindness and deafness support.
  16. I really knew that & shouldn't have said it, but thank you for correcting that. Oh wow, how did I not hear about EV_GetLocation() before? That's great! As for the performance part, stgatilov makes a good point. If you want to keep running track of the AI's location, you have to keep the script running in a loop, which can really eat up up cycles. (Performance was one of our big concerns with the Location script itself because of that.) One thing I'd think about is having the script or EV_GetLocation function called only when an AI is ready to make a bark, and it quickly gets its location from there and makes the bark, and then it's done. Then it's only a one-shot script or function call, which is always better if you can do it. The catch there is I think that'd call for a custom AI script. The issue is if the a future version of the game ever updates that AI script, the custom scripts won't be updated in that version. But since AI scripts should be self-contained, I mean changes almost always take deprecated old stuff into account so it doesn't break old FMs, a custom AI script shouldn't break the FM with new versions of the game. Those AI just won't have any new bells or whistles, which may still be worth it. Or you just quickly add the new things in and kick out a new version if you need to. Of course another option is that new functionality is added to the core game itself with some new spawnargs added to AI, where barks can be made Location specific. For that matter, the AI scripts might be updated to be more friendly to adding barks to existing AI generally, now that we have a good text-to-voice app to make them. Then all mappers get the ability to do this. That might be nice, if it isn't a big performance hit or otherwise troublesome.
  17. Yes, but it's only sound, no image (I tried in several browsers), maybe steemable is better for this typoe of files. The account is free and only needs Mail and Password, it delete the vids un the free account, when they are not viewed in 90 days. Try also Streemja, there is no account needed.
  18. Ignoring is somewhat inadequate as you still see other members engaging in a discussion with the problematic user, and as Wellingtoncrab says such discussions displace all other content within that channel. Moderation is also imperfect as being unpleasant to engage with is not in itself banworthy, so there is nothing more to do if such people return to their old behaviour after a moderator had a talk with them, except live with it or move away. I'd be more willing to deal with it if it felt like there were more on-topic discussion, i.e. thoughts about recently played fan missions or mappers showcasing their progress, rather than a stream of consciousness about a meta topic that may or not have to do with TDM. I guess the forums already serve the desired purpose, or they just compartmentalise discussions better.
  19. Hey, Every time I've try to use the Full Editor when PM'ing someone, and every single time I get an error. Whoever is in charge of the forum, is it possible that this could be fixed? Thanks Neon
