  1. Would it be possible to use the subtitle system (or something similar) to display a translation for text you frob, and active gui pages (for example a page in a book)? (I guess this might give problems for pages with a lot of text) This way you can keep the game in it's original look, while still giving a translation.
  2. 1,2 3 ads certainly aren't, but they are abusive and scam when there are 28 ads and 61 trackers for this 10 minutes on YT. I'm talking about the abuse of these techniques. Everyone is free to pay for YT Premium, even if they don't see ads, they will track you anyway and they also know your personal information and also your banking data. For my part, I do not plan to enter this game.

  5. Thanks for your effort. I think i missed a very big thing on my side off the issue. my debian is the LXDE version, but thats hardly mentioned by the system!!! its the lightweigth version so maybe they slimmed down the routine itself and other simplifings.
  6. We gotta do something about the in-game authors display in the mission selector, it is cutting off WellingtonCrab's name. Any objections to changing the entry to Grayman, Fractured Glass Team ? (etc)
  7. @datiswousIn addition to the content (we tried to use as many of the new assets as we could at least once) there is at least one 2.11 specific script event called in some of the objective scripting. Haven’t tried loading it in 2.10 but I am not sure it even would as a result.

  9. Remove setting from main menu means only having the current default value. Anyway, I doubt this would ever happen.
  10. @Ludvig nice to see you're getting this ready for Flathub! Since I just went through this with DarkRadiant, I took a look at your manifest to see if there's anything that will trip up the process: Comments are fine, but they don't like commented out lines so you'll want to clean those up before submitting. They require a 64x64 and a 128x128 icon file, and the one you're providing is 48x48. You might need to go hunting in the assets or on the wiki, or see if someone here has a suitable icon lying around. I'm not sure about having --socket=wayland and --socket=x11 together. If we don't have explicit wayland support then --socket=x11 should be sufficient on its own; if we do, then I think you use --socket=wayland with --socket=x11-fallback. You have --talk-name=org.freedesktop.Notifications but I don't remember anything in TDM or the installer that would make use of it. If there is, feel free to correct me You'll need a flathub.json file that tells their build system which CPU architectures to support or skip. Without this, I think it will try to make an ARM package too. Once you've got an appstream file I'll gladly check it over for you too.
  11. Mabey they have. I've yet to see ANY Guild themed facilities - at all, in any mission for TDM. Case on point, Many-a-map is themed around; Ancient Multi-Hundred year old Castles - (no plumbing evident of ANY kind). brick Industrial Warehouses, City back-alleyways... rediscovered Ruins, often below a Church/Temple/Mausoleum/Graveyard... huge old Mansions - rarely even updated to TOWN-GAS Lamp lighting, let alone 'modern' plumbing... This does leave out; Civil Service offices Watch Stations / Prisons High-class Merchant shops & stores Multi-Tenant Apartment / Hospital / Hotel (ect...) Factory / Office buildings The 'modern' design we are all familiar with was only perfected by 1877. Yet the 1st version was patented in 1778~ (ish). So here's a old plumbing catalogue page from 1884. Will anyone model & skin a Water-closet I wonder?

  14. Yes, exactly. There is single code piece which handles "fromVideo", and it accepts material name, as FFmpeg video wiki says. And the virtual sound sample is named like "fromVideo {mymaterialname}", by this name you assign subtitles to it. Yes, but you need to change the SUBTITLE_NAMEPREFIX to something unique, or you'll get a ton of warnings about name collisions. I think standard debriefing video should not be skipped. As for debriefing, we don't have anything like that yet in core.
  15. Thanks. But the end briefing doesn't show with that cheat, probably because it uses an internal end mission gui that is part of the mission. I wonder if tdm_end_mission does not also skip regular debriefings.

I think technically we're good to go, we just need to create a file for appstream data: https://github.com/flathub/flathub/wiki/App-Requirements including license information. I haven't worked with appstream data yet, so if you want to help out feel free to send a merge request at https://github.com/ludvigng/thedarkmod (or here in the thread works too), otherwise I'll start working on that next. After that's done, I think we can just fork the flathub repo, create a branch with the app and submit a pull request against the new-pr branch and then just wait.
  17. I was wondering why you didn't just use an in-game scene as the mission ending instead of going for the video that was based on that seperate map file. Maybe it's technically easier?

  19. well seems my latest iteration of the patch managed to fix the buggers i had with gdk-pixbuf2 and ogre they now work just fine looks like parsing the acl's and setting permissions accordingly on the mutex was all that was needed, only seems to be a problem if using win10 so something tells me that they started getting serious about security features in the windows api.
  20. hi my deb10 has no libwxgtku3.0 at all its libwxgtk3.0-dev with out the U are you sure its a debian file and not an ubuntu file? I should upgrade deb10 to deb12 anyway, since deb10 is not he strongest version off debian afa understood. the strength off linux is the same as its weakness, its the enormous amount off variations and possibilities... its a chuwinggum stretched in impossible forms. meanwhile ubuntu is based on debian BUT by now debian is hanging on the back off that same ubuntu , that makes it more difficult
  21. Not sure what game you are playing but stuffing bodies out of the way and under cabinets and stuff is easy and some of us have been doing it since before you were born.
  22. Just played this through, very nice. It feels more like a homage to the original than a replacement, I have to say. I could almost ghost it ... but there's that one guard. I can turn the light off (a bust for Supreme), but can I get past him without an alert before he turns the light back on? I seriously doubt it, didn't try very hard, and I wouldn't be able to get back again anyway, so I abandoned the ghost. Is this meant to be ghostable?
  23. Most of the poll voters have chosen December as the best option. Due to the close deadline, if anyone wants to sign-up for a Halloween speed build I will assist with scoring and promotion but I will not manage the participation aspects. I think that the Halloween speed-build is unlikely to attract more than 2? participants based on interactions seen thus far so it may not be worth it to proceed but do not let that discourage you from releasing a mission on Halloween if you are already prepared to do so. I will do a December contest proposal tonight if I get a chance.
